Huge campground in the desert outside Casa Grande, literally between I-8 and 10. Biggest sites we have very seen, tons of room. Would have given it a 9 or 10 except no pool, hot tub and Wi-Fi seldom works. You are in the desert without shade so you really need some kind of pool to cool off. Also you have to pay for the showers, at that price one feels "nickeled and dimed" over this. Otherwise, one of our favorite camps. The nearby highways and trains did not really bother us. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly staff. Large sites, but not level. Large tables at every site. Wi-Fi is free and it works well. They escort you to the site which makes it easy, and we had a pull-through. This is desert landscape and very well taken care of, but a little dusty. There is an active train track and you can hear it at night. Did not hear noise from the highway. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We have stayed at this park 2 times as a one-night stopover. Pull through spaces are convenient and surprisingly, although this park is at the intersection of I-10, I-8, and a railroad, it is quiet at night. The park is quite large and somewhat confusingly laid out but they always guide you to your site. Typical Sonoran desert vegetation so virtually no shade. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Friendly staff, easy access on and off the highway. Flat, gravel, could see where it could be dusty (although not during our stay). We camped here in a Motorhome.
Got three okays to park our truck camper there to visit Phoenix. But after unloading it an employee said that this was not allowed. Very disappointed in their lack of professionalism. Nice desert park but we will not go there again We camped here in a Truck Camper.
Very easy access off the highway and really large spaces for a change from the regular RV parks. Nice and friendly staff and bought a replacement hose at the store and was inexpensively priced. Would definitely stay here again. Really nice RV park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The spaces are large. The staff is friendly and helpful. The laundry facilities were very clean and in good working order. They are very pet friendly and had no problem with the 5 dogs who travel with me. I really enjoyed staying in this park and will undoubtedly stay there again sometime. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
They lie. AFTER you've paid, you are told that due to the park's lousy Wi-Fi system, people can rarely get on. You get a paper instructing you to take your dog to their dog park area. When I called to ask where that was, they said there wasn't one and that they had never said there was. I read the paragraph from the paper I had just received saying that pets should use the available pet area. After I read them the correction (from their paperwork) the woman said, "Well, don't you read well!" in a sarcastic sing-song voice! Unbelievable! I wasn't here to get into an elementary school type argument, I just wanted to know where to take my dog. Also, there is NO Good Sam discount, even though that is advertised also. We asked for an immediate refund. They finally, after several more loud arguments, in front of both customers and workers, gave us all of our money back. Both of the women were yelling at once, a few different times. Does the owner have any idea how bad these workers treat their guests? We had been here 20 minutes. As we were leaving, a close neighbor came out and said, "The two gray haired ladies?" He said, "You don't want to get on their bad side!" Our first and only visit with another patron. He said he couldn't wait until his month was over. He said they put notices on your door: "Your dog barked last night; you need to trim the shrub". He said he wasn't paying that much money to do their landscaping. The camp is in between two loud interstates and train tracks. If you get stuck here, go to Wal-Mart and buy hearing aids: you're going to need them. I would suggest wearing them when you go into the office also. Please notice that the last 3 reviews mention the worker's attitudes. If those women had just acted "normal", even bored, but no: they act as if the you are their enemy. I would like to warn you that if you stay in this resort, you'll be wanting a refund within 24 hours. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very noisy location next to two Interstates: I-10 (200ft) & I-8 (300ft) and one railroad track (1/4 mile). The noise level here is the worst so far. The park owners NO LONGER offer ATV access to the trail head from within the park! The water here is really poor condition; consider tanking up somewhere else. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed for 3 nights, yes the place is gravel, many are. Staff are reasonably friendly, that's OK. WiFi was probably the best we have had for quite awhile. Lots of room between sites, I like that. Highway noise yes, but we have stayed in many where it is much worse. I wouldn't want to make this a long term stay, but would stay again for a few nights. Close to good shopping in Casa Grande without being in the middle of it. They could use some concrete pads at all sites instead of just their "premium" sites at $40.00 a night. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I agree with most of the other comments. You definitely hear highway and train noise. The park could be improved by the use of more gravel on the roadways and sites. We were here during a bad rainstorm and the place was a nightmare. The Wi-Fi worked fine, but we were 50' from the transmitter. The friendliness of the staff was a hit or miss proposition. Like many parks, you run into the occasional cranky workers and complaining tenants. Probably would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
If you like camping in a desert environment, then this is the campground for you. The campsites are spacious but dry and dusty. Do not put out your awning as there are frequent dust devils during the daylight hours. The Wi-Fi is spotty at best and only seemed to work in the morning hours. You will definitely need to have or rent a vehicle to get around Casa Grande. Given the fact that there is really nothing else in the area any better; we probably would reluctantly stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We like desert campgrounds and this is one. What we don't like is highway noise, train noise, and the smell. There must be cattle lots all around. Kept waking up because of the smell. They advertise free WiFi and it is worth exactly what you pay for it. Was able to connect, but kept dropping out and was unusable. NEVER AGAIN We camped here in a Motorhome.
$14 rate is based on $410/month. We're full timers and we had spent several months boon docking and staying in "remote" campgrounds (30+ miles from a city with major stores), when we decided that we wanted to be closer to a decent-sized city. We made our reservation here for the month of February and enjoyed it so much, we extended through the month of March. While there are not lots of planned activities here, we enjoyed walking in the desert, taking photos and going to the movies. Lots of good restaurants and the major stores nearby (Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Michael's, etc.) Was there dust (as previous poster mentioned? Yes, on the 3 or 4 windy days we had. Are there snakes? Yes, but we didn't personally see any. (This IS the desert, after all, and caution is always advised.) The CG is nicely laid out and the long-term sites have plenty of room between them. You'll hear some interstate noise and an occasional train. If you want Wi-Fi, you'll probably have to go to the office, as the signal is kind of weak. (I used my Verizon card.) We'll probably spend another month (or two) here next winter. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
If circumstances had not prevented us from doing so, we would have moved after the 2nd day. If you love dust, this is the place to be. The wireless was lousy and the only choice for TV was a satellite dish or antenna. No activities were offered. Very unattractive landscaping. At the intersection of I-8 and I-10. Very near the desert so if you like snakes and vermin, this is the place for you. Dogs in the park were being bitten by rattlesnakes. The only attraction is the Casa Grande Ruins, 20 miles away. Nothing else to do in this town. The only redeeming quality about this park is that the sites are wide and in a circle so rigs are not jammed in on top of each other in a straight line. I repeat, dust, dust, dust. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I had a great stay here!! The staff was very friendly and made me feel welcome. Everyone in the campground was very nice and I did not have a bad time. All the facilities were very clean and well maintained. I can't wait to come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed overnight while en route to Las Vegas. The desk employee was very friendly and handled our check-in quickly. We were escorted to our site, which was good because we arrived after dark and this place is huge! It would be easy to get lost without the park map. All of the interior roads and sites are dirt/gravel, but they are well maintained. The park lay out is in such a manner that there is lots of room between sites. The sites are arranged in a random pattern and are not your typical "cookie cutter" side-by-side arrangement. Very nice to have so much room. You can hear traffic noise because you are located at the intersection of Interstate Highways 8 and 10. You can also hear the train that passes nearby. The noise did not bother me, but it annoyed my wife enough that she slept with ear plugs. We did not use the showers or bathrooms. The Wi-Fi signal was a little weak at our site, but it worked well. This is a good overnight park that we will use again. The friendly folks that run it help make up for the highway noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We are staying here a month. Good access to this area of AZ, but noisy due to being between I8 and I10, plus a railroad. Park roads and sites are all dirt/stone so can be muddy if it rains, and dusty if windy. We are in the desert. Nice thing is the sites are irregular, not the usual parallel to each other. Sites are large. Office workers are friendly. Not a lot of organized activities. No charge to wash units but this has to be done in one location close to office. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Let us check in early. A little noisy because of the freeway but well kept. Staff very helpful and suggested a couple of places to get service work done. Wi-Fi adequate but not the best. Plan to stay the rest of the week. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the desert! If you are looking for an upscale resort this is not for you. There are a lot of friendly folks, wide open spaces, and freedom you won't find at other parks. On the downside you are surrounded by I-10 & I-8 along with trains that roll on endlessly. If you can block these out you'll enjoy the park. We stayed here a month. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here overnight. Staff was friendly and stayed late in order to check us in and escort us to the site. The road and sites are dirt and the site was not even close to being level. The pull-through site was narrow, awkward and shared with another fifth wheel. The electrical, sewer, water and cable was easily accessible. The campground is surrounded by I-10, I-8 and railroad tracks. Noise could be a problem for light sleepers. No landscape to mention. Wind was blowing and dust covered everything. Probably would not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground is a little on the rough side. The entrance road is paved but, after you get past the administration building, the place consists of dusty, dirt roads filled with pot holes. Sites are not level and consist of dirt with large gravel filling in the low spots. Sites are mostly back-ins, but there are some cresent-shaped pull-throughs. This is the desert, but the entire place doesn't really have one bit of landscaping. Be careful walking your dogs because there are small stickers all over that get tangled up in their coats. Staff are friendly, but some don't seem to know a lot about the surrounding area and they have to keep asking each other to find the answers to questions. The trains and the interstates are close, but we didn't find them bothersome. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground has the feel of a State or National Park with the cleanliness and ameneties of a private campground. The sites are of good size. The trails and roads are great for walking - there is enough land to keep you busy walking around the campground for days. The only downside is the proximity to the interstate and train tracks. We will come back. Fifth Wheel. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very, very friendly! Only reason I gave it a 9 instead of 10 is because there is a nearby busy train track and 2 major freeways and I am a very light sleeper. Otherwise a perfect facility. I will definitely go back! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice campground, recently renovated. Was Western Horizons, now open to the public. Two pools and a spa. Immaculate restrooms. Big Rig friendly. Office staff very nice. The park was uncrowded when we were there and the lady in the office said she tried to put rigs in every other site. Most of the sites are back-in with one row of pull-throughs. Each site has a concrete pad, but their position is best suited for trailers and fifth wheels. Rate reflects RPI rate, but they said they honor all other affiliates at the same rate. Call to confirm. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The rate reflects the PA discount. We stayed here for a few days while checking out this area. The sites are very level and utilities worked great. The WiFi is one of the fastest we have used. The host are very friendly and helpful. The pools and hot tub areas are very nice, and they do a little cookout in their grill area by the pools. The workout room, pool tables and other facilities are in excellent shape. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park especially for the price. The $12/night reflects the Passport America discount that we received. Lots of in park activities. Two heated pools and Jacuzzi. Excellent Wi-Fi, Verizon, and plenty of antenna TV stations. The staff is friendly. Very nice dog park with a small pond in the center. The owners have poured a lot of money into refurbishing and it shows. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This will be my park of choice if in the area again. Large back-in sites (pull-throughs are smaller). Beautiful swimming pools and hot tub. Friendly and helpful people. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly staff, good Wi-Fi. Great exercise room, facilities were clean and new. Lovely pools and jacuzzi. Activities program is very good. Will be back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is an outstanding resort. Under new ownership, and they have really improved everything in the park. If you haven't been here for a while, you must come back. Wonderful staff, and great amenities. We'll certainly be back! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean and well appointed park. Some road noise from Pinal Avenue so choose a site farthest from this road. Nightly rate is Passport America. Management at check-in was rather surly (the young kid was friendly though). Review the park map before you come and have an idea where you want to park. With my hubby and cat sitting in the hot truck (no idling engine allowed) and two people waiting in line behind me, they wanted me to choose my site with no guidance from them. On another pass through the office to buy quarters, I was ignored for a couple of minutes before office staff even acknowledged me. Regardless, if there was more for active folks to do in Casa Grande, we would stay here again because the park is excellent. It is just the staff that could use some people skills! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Rate reflects WH membership. We love this park. Very friendly staff, quiet environment, lots of things to do, beautiful pools, all amenities we need for a relaxing stay in the desert. Adequate shopping nearby for our needs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We checked out other parks in town and in neighboring towns, and this was by far the nicest park in the whole area. Sites were large; we had a pull through; everything was spotlessly clean. Lots of activities. Really nice park! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Gave it a "1" because there is no grade lower. Tried to stay here on 1/09/13, but when I went into the office to register, one woman was chatting on the phone and the other shushed me when I asked for a site. Guess they don't want over night clients! Also, we have a 45' Prevost and had difficulty getting out because of a newly erected sign that protrudes into the outbound travel lane. No really big rig friendly. Would definitely avoid this campground! We camped here in a Motorhome.
The nightly rate reflects our Good Sam discount for a month's stay. The park is very friendly with lots of activities to choose from. This park is now a privately owned park that has had lots of upgrades. Only reason I rate it a 9 is because there is no cable & the wi-fi was awesome until the park starting filling up; then the speed slogged right down, but for emails it was more than adequate. I would be willing to pay a bit extra to have the cable & DSL internet connection at my site. The new pool area & washrooms were spacious & even the older washrooms were super clean. The gym was spacious & bright with state of the art equipment. Dog walking area was spacious & well looked after as well. Definitely will consider staying there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Name changed to Casa Grande RV Resort with new web site. All roads have been paved and all buildings have been painted. Now has 2 pools and new pickle ball courts. My rate is because of WH membership, public rate is $28 per night and $168 per week. Many upgrades to the facilities. A new activity's director has all activities listed on their web site with plenty of options every day. Management states that they have put almost 1 million into the place and it looks it. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is no longer owned by WH; it's an affiliate and open to the public at $40. Thank goodness we still got a WH rate, but is only worth the $9. Place has not been updated in many years but they have renovations "planned" for next fall. Spa was boarded up, park in general was looking tired. At least the rest rooms are clean . Easy pull through sites for overnight. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here as AOR members and rate reflects that. The staff was very friendly and we were allowed to pick our own site. Site was level with a cement pad next to it. No table was provided. While they do have Wi-Fi, there is a $2 per day charge and can only be used on one computer (not good for us since my wife and myself have laptops). Overall it is a nice place to stay with activities almost every night. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I see all the other reviewers paid only 1 to 9 dollars/night and thought it was a great park. It's not a bad park but the sites are showing it's age and some deferred maintenance. At $35-40 /night it's a bit over priced. Sites are gravel and quite level and there is a concrete pad for a patio but no table. We didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment on them. Folk are friendly enough but if you arrive after the office closes at 4pm, it takes a bit to find the night hosts and then they don't have the Wi-Fi code. No cable but a few English speaking station available on the antenna. Very few pull-through and I was told they are reserved for 1 or 2 night stays only. Any longer and you need to back in. The sites are close to road and the traffic noise is substantial. Overall an OK place and we might stay again, but I'll sure look around first. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for 8 days on an AOR rate. Really liked the office staff, very friendly. Space was large with gravel and a concrete patio. There is plenty of room for your truck right next to the trailer. We had a small palm tree on our site. Great internet connection, but no cable TV. Very clean and the pool area was pristine. Library, laundry facilities, lots of activities. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
First visit to this park. We were ROD which made us a bit "sub-citizen" meaning only certain sites were available. We had to take sites close to major roads (lots of road noise) even though the park was 1/3 full. Park was clean, staff not very friendly. Would not accept mail because we were not Western Horizon members. Charged extra for 50 amp. Pool area was nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here on a referral. In the section from where you turn in the front gate to the office (maybe 200 yards), the sites are right on top of each other. We were thinking about driving in and right back out. However, once we got in the park the sites were much larger and had cement patios. We were close to Penal Road so had some road noise. Interior roads need some repair. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly, roads were wide and allowed easy access, plenty of activities, great water pressure, and our site was large and level. Initially the 50amp breaker was bad, but was replaced by staff in less than ten minutes. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very convenient to AZ-380. A controlled access RV Resort with both short term and long term occupants. The sites are 30/50, full hookups and cable TV is available for a nominal fee. There are activities designed for just about everyone. There is a combination of drive-through and back-in sites and there is plenty of room plus paved patios in each site. We staid here three nights. RV wash facility right around the corner from the resort. Volunteer hostess made certain we had all the information we needed. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is a well maintained. Gravel sites and paved roads. Very friendly staff. Easy dog walking area. Also a great dog park nearby. It was a very quiet place to stay. They had a lot of activities planned. Although we did not participate in the Valentine's Prime Rib dinner, we heard rave reviews from other campers. It's nice to be in a park where campers are smiling/friendly. We would definitely stay here again. Plenty to do in Casa Grande! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very friendly staff. Paved roads, level gravel sites. We had 30 amps, extra $3. charge for 50 amp for Coast to Coast members. Rate is for coast to Coast. Big dog run. Good Verizon cell phone and air card service. A lot of activities scheduled. Distance train noise and some city traffic noise, but was not bad. After all this in the city and to be expected. Good TV off the antenna. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very typical 55+ snowbird park. My wife and I are 55+, but do not enjoy being stacked in tiny sites like cord wood. Staff was not all that friendly, the place appears to be rather run down. C2C rate; would have preferred boon docking in desert, at least you would have room to breathe! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is one of our favorite campgrounds. Seems like it has gone down some. Not sure why. We stayed here using our Western Horizon membership. We had 50 amp, good phone and TV. Wi-Fi is regulated. Has concrete patios, dog run, swimming pool, hot tub, clubhouse, lots of activities, library, laundry, workout, craft and card rooms. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground really disappointed us because of our site location. When we check into the park for our week's stay, we asked to NOT be on a site along either of their main streets. We were told that the street noise was minimal and wouldn't bother us. Immediately we realized that street noise is "significant" and is very disturbing. The attendant who told us that noise wasn't a factor was clearly misinformed or didn't care, I'm not sure which is the case! Prior to setting up we requested to be relocated to another site since there were numerous vacant sites available but we were told that we couldn't move. We'll likely never stay in this campground again since they clearly don't care if those who don't want to be along a major street are inconvenienced. In favor of the resort personnel, I'll state clearly that they put on a very nice New Year's Eve celebration. We stayed there as ROD Members so there was NO nightly rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I'm not sure where the previous poster was, but obviously not at the park I'm current at which is Desert Shadows - WHR. The roads have a few cracks in the asphalt and are constructed so that when it does rain the water runs down the center of each road. They don't have storm sewers here - the roads channel what little rain they get away. There are a lot of snowbirds that put out a lot of little things to help make their site seem more home like. I have walked the whole park and have not seen one "trashy" site. The odor is from the stockyards west of town - there is no way to avoid it and it is not the fault of the park. Yes, there are a lot of fees - which is true of most membership parks this year. Wi-Fi is always a hit or miss proposition at most parks. The power is very good, each site is level, has gravel base, a concrete patio and a place to park along side patio. Easy to get into and out of each site. Nice recreation areas, club house, etc. For the price, it is hard to beat. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Starting to look run down, what they call streets are potholed and full of gravel/dirt. Definitely gives a low end trailer park feel. Constant stink from either septic gas or cow feed lots or on bad days both. There are permanent lot owners here and some have allowed their sites to get trashy. The saving grace are the people in the park. We have not met any that we would want to avoid. Power is reliable, Wi-Fi is not and over the air reception is spotty. Can get very windy and very dusty at times. Fees for everything other than the space. The Workamper staff keep the restrooms and laundry clean and do their best. I was told this is the best park in the system, kind of scary if that's true. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Warning, WH is now charging many extra fees, especially if this is not your "home" park. This parking lot place is okay for overnight, especially with the handy pull-through sites. Not a pleasant place to stay the maximum 2 weeks, not at $14 daily. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Desert Shadows is one of our favorite parks to stay in. As it is quite a new park..there is still work to be done but overall we feel that it well run and the management seems to be doing a good job. The only complaint we have heard from other campers is that the laundry room is too small. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park with good amenities. I call this a drive-in or asphalt RV park, like so many in Arizona desert. Lots of RVs lined up one after another on asphalt with nice concrete pads. Reasonable dog walk also. Western Horizon members pay for electric ($3). We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park is pretty typical of the desert RV parks we've stayed - open sites with gravel in which to park your rig. Each site is quite large and offers a large concrete pad. There is a swimming pool, hot tub, and patio area, a large and well-stocked library, an equally large laundry room with more than a dozen washers and dyers, a large card room with about 6 round tables, a billiards room with four tables, a decent sized exercise room with some cardio equipment and weight machines (in okay shape). The one issue- like most Western Horizon Resorts - the wi-fi - you cannot use the wi-fi between 7:00am-5:30pm, as it is used only by the employees during that time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here in December 2008. Friendly staff. Numerous activities. Had to unhook the motorcycle trailer and leave it in their storage compound. Gravel sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This WH park is only for the membership club people desperately trying to get some value for their overpriced fees & dues. Park is mostly old, worn and tired; residents are almost the same. Definitely for the geriatric "Dinner at 5:30pm" set. Old buzzard in site next to us backed his smelly diesel truck into his site, right next to our bedroom/living room and every day he'd drive off somewhere, filling our coach with fumes when our windows or vents were open. Asked him to please park his truck forward, like most people, but he refused. He also sat outside on his patio smoking most of the day and we got those fumes too. Some of the workampers take themselves too seriously: play police over silly stuff, yet there was dog excrement around the park. They should improve the hazardous Exercise Room, replace the ancient shower curtains in the bathrooms, spruce up all the meeting rooms. This place has barely changed the last decade. If you have to stay here, don't get stuck on the noisy side by Pinal. It was fairly quiet on the other east side. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Was hesitant at first, since some poor reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. This park is very well kept up. The staff was very pleasant and plenty of activities if you come in the Fall or Winter months. Spaces are very wide with room to breathe. Security gate in the evening hours. My price is a C2C price. We stayed for one week and would definitely return. WiFi worked very well and was $1.00 per day. No cable is why the 9 score, but several of broadcast stations with antenna. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park at first glance looks like a parking lot but the staff are great. They have lots of activities planned during the week from the liars club meeting for coffee to outings to a casino or the weekly hikes. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Real nice park. Very wide streets makes maneuvering a 40' motorhome a breeze. WiFi worked real good at site 272. Well maintained level gravel sites with 50 amp service. Every site has a large concrete patio pad but no picnic tables. Plenty of parking space for the tow car. The facilities were maintained well and in good shape. We stayed here for two weeks and look forward to future visits. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have a free gift visit for 5 nights so don't know what the rate would be, but this is a WH membership park anyway. (Some reviews for this place are on "Casa Grande RV Resort"). Would not want to pay much, it's a bit rundown and outdated. Registration clerks were quite rude and unhelpful, but some other workampers were nicer. The bathrooms were large and clean, and the pool was okay tho in need of paint- and warmer weather; only saw one person in it. Fitness room is a disgrace, but library and laundry room are good. Our gravel site was wide & level, with a concrete pad, no table. Some sites were not as wide or quiet. TV reception was poor, only one good station. Park is too cheap for cable or for upgrading the facilities, which is too bad since this may be the only true RV park in town. The others are mostly park models/mobile homes, and the fancy Palm Creek Resort is too $$$. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I was here on a Western Horizons sales pitch freebie deal; not sure of exact daily rate. Wouldn't want to stay here unless it was free, it's so unfriendly to newcomers. Staff is only helpful to members or prospects. Sites are unlevel, crowded, and sewer hookups are nearly out of reach. Water is poor quality, undrinkable.Wifi is expensive and only works in small area. Fitness room equipment torn & outdated. Spa and pool dirty. This is just a big paved parking lot that needs a lot of improvement. Would not visit again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Was disappointed by the noise that is now all around this park. A lot of activities going on - but also the 'in crowd' did not make one feel welcome. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A well maintained Western Horizons park and the best of the group we have visited. Level sites, nice quality of gravel (smooth pebbles). Plenty of space for tow car. Nice distance from neighbors. VERY courteous staff vs. "take it or leave it" attitude of previous WH parks. Lots of well-organized activities. Pool facilities clean (although we did not use them). Good laundry facilities. Close to Casa Grande and a 45 minute drive to Phoenix area. Other than this, nothing special; just a nice clean park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice and quiet campground, good size lots and cement pads. Stayed two weeks, went to one of the steak and chicken dinner. We were seated next to a window that allowed us to watch them cooking our food outside on the Barbeque. Were a little shocked when one of the steaks was dropped on the ground and watched as they picked it up an put it on the platter with the others and bought it in and served it. The other people at the table saw this also and we just couldn't believe it. Went to play Pokeno one night and found out what a group of money hungry ladies (we were playing for pennies) can do to a very fun game. It's a shame that even after people walk out during the game that they have know idea how unfriendly they are. Or maybe they don't care, they just want their click. Would not visit this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The sites designated for their members are decent and roomy. The sites designated for C2C and other memberships are the typical back in sites that leave little room for anything. The hook-ups and sewer connections are at the back of all sites, so plan ahead. There are no picnic tables. Unless this is your "home" camp, or you're a Western Horizon (WH) member, expect arrogant, abrupt, and rude treatment, especially if you are staying in the "low rent" rows assigned to C2C and other memberships. The only decent person I ran into was the one that was trying to sell me a Western Horizon membership. You are referred to this person to finish up the registration process when you check in if are not a WH member. The park "hosts" are less than helpful and quick to call you on it if you violate (even unknowingly) their park rules. However, it seems to be okay for them to ignore those same rules. My reservation was fouled up when I arrived, and continued to be fouled up. I was assigned a site and when I went to occupy it, it was already occupied. I returned to the office and after some amount of discussions (not quite an argument) about that site being empty, I was assigned the site next to it. The people occupying the first site were not scheduled to leave for a week. I was scheduled to leave on the 5th and one of the “hosts” came knocking on the 2nd at 11:10 a.m. (check out is 11:00 a.m.) and asked me why I hadn’t vacated my site. I am glad that the WHO chain is opting out of C2C and RAP so they can "make more room for their own". I would definitely not stay here again, even if I had the opportunity. Arrogant snobs, is the best term I can come up with. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is our "home park" for Western Horizon so I am a bit biased. A clean park with wide paved roads and easy back in sites. All sites have a patio and are wide enough for all the "big rigs." There is room to park next to the patio so your car is just outside your door. They have a few pull throughs but they keep them for overnighters. All the facilities are excellent as is the staff. I don't know how old the park is but it looks new. Some say it's just a big parking lot because of the lack of trees but it's the nicest parking lot I can find. Wi-Fi is spotty and goes out when it gets overloaded at busy times. There are plenty of activities every day and great meals. The pot lucks are the best in the area and they have entertainment at least twice a week. Casa Grande is a growing community with several good restaurants, excellent golf and some shopping. There are plans to build a huge shopping mall in 2007. They have approved plans for over 20,000 new homes to be built in the next 5 years so the area is going to change in a hurry. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Western Horizons/RPI/Coast to Coast (and affilliates) Campground. We were here for Christmas and had a wonderful time! Lots of "snowbirds" -- all having a wonderful time in the WARM Arizona weather. Great activities, large sites, fully paved. WiFi is now avilable at about $2 a day. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a Coast to Coast, RPI and Passport America Park. It is a membership park and is better than a lot that we have stayed at. Sites are gravel, level, of adequate size for a big rig and easy to get in to. There are concrete patios. Roads are paved and wide. There are a few trees but they pose no problems. Showers and laundry were clean. They have lots of activities & entertainment in the winter months. There is a security gate which they give you the code number to use at night when it is closed. We would go back to this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate is based on a monthly of $513. This park is so unfriendly to RVers with the exception of other RVers. Most of the park is old park models and the residents must resent the travelers because they are not at all nice. The office must go out of its way to get people that are clueless to work there. We were told electric was about $0.12 Kw. but when we went to pay for electric at check out it was half at $0.12 and the other half at $0.16. They could not answer my questions. It was always the women that knows is not here. We payed $77.57 for a month and did not use anything but lights. No electric heat or A/C. The women at the office could not even figure out my change when I paid cash for it. She tried on the calculator for more than 5 minutes to figure she needed to give me $2.43 back!! The end to a bad experience at an "Old" Park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I guess if you like being stacked into cement pads like cord wood with little landscaping, this is a place for you. Not at all designed for short term stays. I believe that it would have required a helicopter to get a few of the rigs in and out of their sites. We were virtually trapped with our 38' 5th wheel. I guess I now know the meaning of "typical 55+ snowbird park". We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed here for a week. Snowbird park with a lot of park models. People very friendly and many have been returning there for many years. This is an Encore/ELS park and there seemed to be add on charges for everything. Laundry use is by card that has to be bought for $2 and then $$ added. There is no refund for unused amount when you leave. Pool is good and there are water aerobics. Pet area is fairly small but there is a dog walk area outside the back gate. This is an agricultural area, and can be extremely muddy after rain, and it did rain while we were here. The fields were not under cultivation and consequently when not muddy were dusty!! Would probably not return here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Large, 55+ fully paved park – mostly “snow-bird” sites with a scattering of available sites for folks traveling through. Not much landscaping to speak of, the park is in an open, flat and very sunny desert area – very hot, even in May. The park is not big-rig friendly, all the somewhat narrow sites are back-in and most have very tight turning radius. Parking our 37’ fifth wheel was almost impossible to do without encroaching on surrounding sites or doing battle with a light pole or two (No escort to the site was available). Laundry, pool and showers were clean and adequate. Office was closed on weekends. Park advertised free WiFi however upon on arrival we were informed that they only had one WiFi “hook-up” spot in the office area (the person that checked us in didn’t seem very knowledgeable on the whole subject). While checking for wi-fi connections in the area, Coach Connect showed up. The desk person wasn’t aware of that and didn’t know if they had a password for guests to use. We could have paid to use Coach Connect by purchasing air time on our own account. We opted not to as we have a Verizon card and the signal was excellent. We called 2 months prior to our visit, confirmed the date of our stay and the rate. The rates were quite high, especially considering the fact that the park was definitely in off-season. At that time, we specifically inquired as to any special add-on or extra charges - desk person was adamant, there WERE no extra charges. Upon arrival, we were charged the daily rate less a Good Sam discount PLUS $3 per day for “less than 5 day stay”. That was the strangest daily add-on rate we’ve ever encountered. We addressed the confirmation that we had received earlier about no add-ons and the desk person simply said there was “nothing they could do”. Not good customer relations. The park is close to a small Tanger outlet mall and several fast-food emporiums, but that’s about it. Given the number of RV parks in the Casa Grande area, there is no need to go to this over-priced one. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The park was quiet, too quiet. Ghost town quiet. Most lots are empty, they have a pool, we did not use. The Wi-Fi is terrible, and no other amenities. Lots are spacious and has large trees with concrete pads which is nice. Could be a great park if they would update. A train horn can be heard at night, but that obviously can not be helped. The Park manager is friendly, but can't do much, due to upper management. The Resident park handy man was extremely friendly and very helpful. The Park is quiet, just has a ghost town feel to it: kind of unsettling. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park was very quiet at night. During the day I enjoyed the pool and hot tub and had no problems with the neighbors. I would stay at this park again when I come back to Casa Grande. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

$30
We wanted to stay two nights, but the park office said that they will only take a cashier's check or a money order. NO CASH OR CREDIT CARD ACCEPTED. We moved on to another park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very quiet, a lot of empty sites here. Kind of nice really. Pool is very nice, heated to 82 degrees night and day. The only thing I have against the park are the speed bumps. You really need to slow down for them. All in all, it's a pretty nice park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed at this park for a week. The managers were very nice. Our site was level and very wide. We parked our Fifth Wheel on the gravel and had a concrete patio on one side and a concrete pad for our truck on the other. There were well established trees and the park was well maintained. We also used the pool and hot tub which was very nice, clean and heated. We got free WIFI. The only down side was we were parked near the road and it was noisy and not very scenic. We should have got a spot in the back of the park. There are a number of mobile homes in the park. Although there were a lot of pluses, we just didn't get that "resort" feeling, but not a bad place to stay for the price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We don't normally stay in parks that are both RV and Mobile Home parks. But while in Casa Grande last year, we drove past this place and poked our heads in to check it out for a return visit. We stayed for about a week this year, and let me say Cottonwood Cove has changed our minds! We loved it! The clean, level, gravel sites are huge (they're designed for a mobile home, so an RV is no problem! ) with wide, long patios on one side and a separate driveway on the other. The streets are also very wide and it was no problem getting our 43' coach (with tag) in or out of the space. The pool area was beautiful, the park managers (on site) were very nice, and the park is full of large shade trees and mature plantings. How often do you get to stay in the desert in a space in the shade?!? We'd definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice Park. The rate reflects weekly rate with Good Sam. They didn't take Passport America. We were shown to our spot by a very friendly host. We were given a spot right across from the dog park. It was very noisy and since we don't have a dog, we asked to move to another spot. The office was very accommodating of our request and we were given a much better spot for us. The sites were very large and nice. Because it's an Encore location, the laundry machines are by a credit card that you purchase for $2.00 and then add money to the card to use the machines. I didn't use the laundry because I object to having to pay for a credit card to use in the machines. The washroom/shower facility was in the office building. There was a second washroom area closer to us, but it only had one washroom and no showers. Not very convenient. The worst thing about this park is no internet at the sites. We had to walk up to the office building to get internet. It was a real pain. There were lots of activities available to do at the park and the park was close to stores and things to do in Casa Grande. We would stay here again if there was internet available at the sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate based on monthly stay but rates change for high season. Combination of park models, transient residents, wide streets for our unit and nice pull thrus for short stays. Lots of activities, very friendly staff, close to all shopping and restaurants. All the bathrooms, showers, laundry areas super clean. Pet friendly with restrictions. I would've given it a 10 but many areas around the park where dogs can't walk so that's a negative for us dog owners. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A very nice park with paved roads and wide gravel sites, they had 15 pull through for transient RVers and many more for long-term. No Wi-Fi except at library--Verizon MiFi worked great. Located in town, within a mile of any restaurant or store you want. Stayed here at Passport rate for a week and would definitely return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate is PPA rate. This is also an Encore park but the PPA rate was better than the discount TT allows for an Encore park. Over 55 park but everyone, including office staff, very friendly and helpful. Quite a few park models but still plenty of RV sites. Convenient to restaurants, shopping, etc., and would definitely stay here again. Separate section for pets but the downside is even though they have 2 fenced areas for your pets, they water the area too much. It was 'sloshy' in there any time of the day or night. Maybe they turn the watering down as the weather cools though. We camped here in a Motorhome.
PPA rate, stayed one night. Good sized 55+ park, but very friendly to transients and families. Only self-contained campers allowed, no tents or pop-ups. We were asked to wear guest badges outside of our camper. Very clean park, clean restrooms and showers. Pool had very restricted hours for kids. Wi-Fi only available in the clubhouse building, which was a pretty good walk from our site. Would look for a more family-oriented park next time, but this one is great for adults. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for three weeks and the price listed is the prorated monthly rate. The rate does not include electric and cable TV which you have to pay yourself if staying more than a few days. Nice park with snowbirds in park models and RV's. We liked the very restrictive pet policy. Portions of the park are no pets allowed which is nice because you don't have to listen to yapping dogs. Spaces are very large by most standards with lots of room between RV's. Sites are crushed granite with a cement patio. The only problems with this park are all the old folks riding their bikes to the various activities and not paying attention to cars. The folks on the bikes seem to think they own the streets and roads within the park. Other than that, we loved the park and would stay here again. I would have given it a higher rating except for the bike problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Had left California and wanted to stop and warm up for a week. Stayed 2 weeks because of weather going east. Park is a little older but still nice. Went to 2 dances while there and had a good time at both. They do separate dogs to their own area but I don't mind at all. Best thing about this CG is the people. Everybody is very friendly. Will probably come back next year We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Mainly seasonal occupants but very accommodating of transient guests. Outstanding facilities, very courteous and helpful staff. Easy to get to for those using either I-10 or the Phoenix bypass. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here with the Coast to Coast Best Neighbor Park rate. This is an Encore park (55+) and is very restrictive with respect to where you can and cannot go. For example, areas of the park were marked with "no dogs" signage indicating that you couldn't even walk your dogs in the no dogs sections. If you walk your dog in a dog section, the dog can't pee on shrubs or trees. The dog park was undergoing reseeding and heavy watering so access was limited. Laundry facilities were excellent and reasonably priced. The park is centrally located in Casa Grande with easy travel to all local stores. We'll stay here again when traveling through the area but not for any long period of time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Big park model resort. Good location, town has grown up around it. Big rig friendly. We are here two days to avoid a big sandstorm. We are going to run into Chandler for Costco, Trader Joe's and Sam's. I would stay here again, if I did not have to wear a badge that says, "GUEST", just to get into the pool or laundry. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground appeared to be more full residents in park models then RV's. However, they do have one area set aside for RV's with nice pull through sites. The campground was clean and the sites fairly wide. We did not have to unhook our tow vehicle. No Wi-Fi at the site but that may be because we failed to ask them. We had all the services, 50 amp, sewer, water, cable TV. There is a nice dog run with grass for the pet we we really appreciate. We did not use the pool, laundry or shower facilities so no comment. However, everything appeared in good shape. We would stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Liked this place more than expected to, given that it's not really a RV park, but a big snowbird home full of park models and winter residents, and not that many RV sites. But the folks are nice and there are a lot of activities going on, plus the facilities are pretty good. Nice fenced-in dog run. Easy walk to stores and restaurants. Long pull-through sites for short-term guests. Two heated pools; big shower room but a good walk from RV sites. Basic cable, Wi-Fi in clubhouse, Verizon air card and cell work fine. Passport America rate of 25% off in winter, 50% in off-season, but only for 6 nights and this is an Encore park with the stupid $3 daily resort fee. Too bad the feedlot smell is pretty strong at night but this is still a nice, convenient park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Gravel back-in site with good hookups. Roads were narrow and difficult to maneuver with a big rig. I would suggest you remove your toad even though they say you don't need to. Only negative was the sweet smells of nature from the feedlot to the southwest which, unfortunately, is the prevailing wind direction. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park is very well maintained and clean. There are a lot of permanent sites and the site we had was a back in and at least 50' wide. The only thing keeping this from a 10 was no cable TV and no table at the sites, although there was a large concrete pad for a table and chairs. This park is perfect for branching out to Phoenix and even Tucson, and is very close to shopping, golf, and eating out. We stayed here two weeks and would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice but very big park. Many sites are occupied by mobile homes. The hookups are well placed, and the park is very tidy and neat. Managers are very nice and helpful. If you don't mind being in a large crowd this is the park for you. Sites are
well mantained and level. We enjoyed our stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed here under the Good Neighbor Park rate. Had a very nice pull through site. They only have a few overnight spots as there are mostly park models. Staff not overly friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has insufficient power. Should not be used by RVers. Mostly residential units. We signed in for a week. First morning - power clicked on & off a hundred times. They moved us twice to get to an "improved" site and still poor power. It was cold and our inside temp got down to 40 degrees. The first site we were assigned was right by the dumpsters in the back of the park. Terrible! Finally, we asked for refund of remaining two days AND GOT IT! and left. Beware several of the Encore/Lifestyle parks are old and full of trailer homes and old camp trailers. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has little traffic noise despite being on the approach for the local airport. There is not a lot of night time air traffic. There is no highway or other traffic noise. The noise from dogs, however, is quite another matter. If you stay here, do not park anywhere near #57 as they leave Yip and Yap outside all day unattended and even when home are oblivious to the the noise. Local dogs also add to the cacophony at night. We have stayed in different sites on the West of the park in other years and didn't have the dog nuisance. The pool and spa are nice and there is a recreation hall for use when not scheduled for regular events. There is a clothesline which I love. There is a putting green, horseshoe pit, shuffleboard and Bocce Ball but I have never seen these areas used. The $3.00 "Resort Fee" must be taken into account when staying less than a month. When I called to ask about rates they did not mention this little tidbit. Apparently, the old entrance came in from Hopi but that was changed some time ago so the entrance is now off Val Vista Blvd. Most GPS units I have encountered still try to take you in via Hopi. We have stayed here three different years for periods from two days to one month. We will not stay here again unless there is a guarantee they will address the dog issue. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have spent 3 winter seasons here but will probably not return. This park is owned by Encore, and they choose to call it a resort; which it is not even though there is a $3/day resort fee for anything less than a one-month stay. I don't know what that fee covers!! I like the rural setting of the park and the outside clotheslines. The residents are friendly, and it is a dog-friendly park, although sometimes so dog friendly that no one pays attention to non-stop barking. The park is neat and clean, but there is nothing beyond the ordinary. We experience extreme electrical power fluctuations very frequently, and we are subjected to sewer odors as frequently. We have been bumping through the same potholes in the road for all three seasons we have been here. A shovelful of asphalt thrown into the potholes is as much as is done. It is obvious that only the bare minimum needs are met by Encore, and there is no investment being made in the infrastructure. The manager is an unpredictable personality who has a need to maintain control. Therefore her workcamping staff are less than effective because they have not been given adequate training and "only know half the story". We as guests, even return guests, don't feel our patronage is appreciated. We will take a look next winter to see if there have been any improvements. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I gave this park a 10, because I cannot give it a 15! This is by far, the nicest place that we have ever stayed. The staff and volunteers were all very nice. We were with a rally, but could have easily stayed longer. The amenities were pristine. They have everything that you could imagine at this park. We will be staying there again and may possibly purchase one of the sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a 55+ community that appeals to snowbirds from the Canada and US. Most people were here for long term stays with only a few stopping by for an overnight. We stayed in a premium site, which gave us a concrete parking pad and a patio pad, with additional, ample space for our car and bicycles. Other sites have just a concrete parking pad or a few simply had gravel. The sites do not have picnic tables. Access from the Interstate is easy and paved roads through the campground are wide All of the grounds are flat and graveled. They are clean and there are plantings at the corners and on a few improved lots. We had a good cell signal but there is no WiFi except at a few hot spots near the office or laundry facilities. Cable was available through Dish at an extra fee, as was DSL Internet. The park has many, many activities and several nice dog parks. One side of the park allows pets. There are many park models and village homes and in some areas campers are parked between the permanent structures. All of the homes and campers are kept up and a homeowner's association insures that all is neat. We loved the activities and met many wonderful people. We hope to go back for a month next winter. Although this is an excellent park, I am marking it down because of the lack of WiFi throughout the park and because there are no tables at the sites. At the very least the management could have a few tables they 'deliver' to sites for folks who would like that amenity. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate based upon $189/mo coupon. Upgraded to premium site for $50 but bill was $371 after a bunch of ridiculous service charges and fees. $30 for sewer and trash, $11 for electricity meter plus power charges, etc. Only stayed 16 days so it worked out to $23/day but if I stayed a month it would have been $12. A good rate but if I paid full price and had my bill double with service fees I'd be upset. Last stayed at the park in 2008. It was a beautiful 5 star park then and nothing has changed. It is well maintained and sparkling clean. Lots of amenities. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Have stayed in this park for past few years for winter months. Great for pickle ball players. Has all the recreation you want. But it is not very organized regarding the days/hours of all activities, when it comes to the matching the website, with the on-location activities office. Also some areas are limited on hours available, due to "monitors" being available. Example: the Stained Glass shop is closed on weekends?!? Pottery closed at 1pm on Saturday and closed Sunday. Many recreation areas are not open on weekends. You would think RV'ers were 365 vacationers, but this park relies way too much on volunteers and provides little or no perks for their time. Add that to a charge for nearly every activity, and no direct email access to a park manager, and you get lost in the "big" crowd of 2200 sites. For the prices averaging $650-$900 a month, management should be more connected with guests. Have never seen a guest appreciation event with the park providing "free" food or beverage. Everything cost the guests, no matter how long you are staying for the season. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Fantastic RV park. Must be 55 or older. Mostly park models, but plenty of room for your rig. This place has everything. Too much to mention. Dogs are only allowed on one side of the park; dog runs available. Most of the sites are just gravel with all of the hookups. Good Sam discount available along with a friends and family discount(If you know someone in the park). They do not take reservations for short visits but usually have spaces available. The reservation personnel were wonderful and helpful. Don't miss a chance to stay here, you might not want to leave. We camped here in a Motorhome.
If you are a one nighter they put you on the hot top with full hook ups. It's not bad and very easy in and out and quiet. If you are here for the season they put you in your site. I like it as a one nighter but would never spend the season or longer. Just to big and jammed together. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is our 4th year as fulltime RVers, and this is, by far, the best park in the country for active adults. They have golf, tennis, pickle ball, shuffle board, horse shoes, lawn bowling, dancing, shows, plays, cards, organized trips, hiking club, sewing, crafts, aerobics, wood shop, swimming, happy hours, etc. If you can't find friends and something to do at Palm Creek you better check your pulse. The $25 rate is due to staying at this park for 6 months through the winter. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were here for a rally. Very helpful, friendly workers in the park. Loads of activities, 2 pools, 2 hot tubs, par 3 18-hole executive golf course, pickleball courts, great (in-house prepared) meals, top-notch entertainment. Met lots of friendly, helpful residents and "snowbirds". We'll be back! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park needs to join the computer age. No Wi-Fi at the sites. Computer access is in a small room by the office that has limits of 30 minutes on users or else take your laptop to the laundry and use an Ethernet card. I was in a motorhome and was assigned a site on a street that was mainly park models. I did meet the 2 other RVers, but had no interaction with the park model folks. I felt like they considered us transients and they had long standing relationships with their neighbors so they didn't feel like being friendly to the short-timers. If I ever go back here I will insist on camping with other RVers and unless they get Wi-Fi so I can watch movies on my computer in the evening I will find another place to spend my vacation. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We arrived in our 2007 Roadtrek 210 Motorhome to meet friends already registered in the park. Upon arrival we went through a very intensive 50 minute registration process and were provided a site close to our friends. However, when the guide came out to show us to our spot we were shocked to be informed that they do not allow any motorhome less than 23' into the park. We were then told we could park on one of their slab concrete sites (parking lot with hookups),with no price reduction, but not on their regular sites. We were quite upset at this and asked for our money back. They did give us our money back. In retrospect - this would have ruined our time we had planned with our friends already registered at the park, and so we decided to take the parking lot spot. They then said no we could not stay at this park. We found the management of this park to be completely unacceptable. They would not come out and talk to us directly - (they were in a meeting and would not tell us how long the meeting would last). The rules seem to change on a minute to minute basis. I would like to have known of their discriminatory practices before we drove this far to meet our friends. We have traveled for three winters in our RV and have never been treated this way. I would not recommend this RV Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Entrance and clubhouse area are beautiful..leads to disappointment when you get to your gravel pit (site). No separation between sites, no trees or bushes, except the odd palm tree. Park models and villa homes near golf course have some nice landscaping, but area for RV'ers is ugly. Both staff and residents were aloof, unfriendly, except for some helpful pickleball players. It is very over priced with various prices for different offers, and months. Everyone else we spoke to was paying a different rate, as many as 5 different prices. We will never stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the 2nd year in a row that we have visited friends at Palm Creek. Last year we were told by Management that they would have Wi-Fi for 2011. NO, they have a computer room that is open limited hours. This park is very large, beautiful grounds, golf course tennis, pickle ball. RV sites are close, make sure you line up the front of your RV with everyone else in line or the MARSHAL will speak to you. For us its too big and impersonal, total population during the "season" is close to 3000 people. My biggest concern is why tell me your going to have Wi-Fi when you don't have plans on putting it in place? At $43 a night I expect Wi-Fi or at least a computer room open 24/7. We will not be returning. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We have traveled quite a bit and this is the BEST RV resort we have ever stayed in. It has been rated #1 and we would have to agree. Felt like we were at a resort in Hawaii without the ocean. Lots to do and everyone (staff and guests) were very friendly. Sites were large and easy to get into. Great pool and golf course! The rate reflects a special we received. We will definitely go back and possibly buy a park model someday. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is not a place we will stay again. It is as previously described clean, neat and very rigid. The check in process is pretty detailed in getting personal information but short on explaining policies. When we check in we told them we had a dog and there was no mention of any special pet rules. When my wife started to walk the 100 yards to the mail box she was rudely accosted by staff on told the dog not could be in that area. Because we have a smaller motorhome we were assigned to to an asphalt parking lot with power, water, cable TV and a sewer connection that was above the level of my dump outlet. My wife thinks Wal-Mart would have been preferable. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We got this rate because of a first timer special. Buy one week, get the second one free. This is definitely a destination resort. There are more amenities than you can count. They have classes in just about everything, all different kind of sports, including golf, shows, and dinners. We will definitely come again and for a longer stay next time! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is clean and well maintained but far too "Sterile" for our tastes. A typical Arizona "Park Model" kind of place. This is one of those "55 and older" places that has tons or rules and lacks any personality or excitement. The parks is clean and has lots of amenities and a friendly staff although the question and answer session upon check in was the longest and most grueling I have ever encountered. The golf course is well maintained but offers no real challenge at all. I am 56 years old and am no spring chicken but his place was just too old fogey to offer me any reason to want to ever stay in a place like this again. Also, if you drive a big rig, the streets are tight and you will have to disconnect a car dolly as there are very, very few big rig pull throughs. If you want a menu driven cookie cutter type of place then this is the place for you however if you require some personality and uniqueness pass this place up as quick as you can. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very ritzy park, seems strange to be in dusty Casa Grande, near I-10. As gorgeous as it is, the rates are crazy. They don't even post them online, you have to call. Each month is different; the high is Feb. @ $54/$325/ $960 for D/Wk/Mo. Three month deals work out better. Huge, spread out park, not enough shower facilities for the size. Very nice grassy dog parks, great pickle ball and tennis courts. Golf course seems popular too. Be sure to do the 2 for 1 deal found in the regular ads in RV Journal and see if this place is worth it to you. Casa Grande gets cold and windy in the inter, not to mention the dust and barnyard smell We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for 2 weeks. We got the deal, pay for one week and get the 2nd free. That is reflected in the daily rate. We have stayed in 3 upscale parks in Ariz, and this is the best. Staff is friendly and helpful. Sites are large. We stayed in the non-pet area. We have had dogs over the years but when you don't have one, it is nice not to hear them. Golf course is a par 3 but very nice. There is a nice course just on the other side of I-10. Only reason not a 10, there is an agricultural smell that comes in the evening. It is not there every day but I guess it depends on the wind. We would probably hold our nose and stay here again We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
As of July 2010 The Palm Creek no longer has free internet at the site. Service is available on a monthly basis after you purchase a modem. There is free internet available in a common area open limited hours. The Management is working on installing park wide Wi-Fi. The $42 rate reflects buy one week get one free. This is more of a destination, long term park. All of the park model homes are newer and show pride of ownership. The sites are gravel with a patio slab and two Palm trees each site. Remember this is Arizona, not a lot of grass and shade trees in the desert. Its well maintained and plenty of activities to keep you busy (or not), it is a 55 and over park. We would stay here again (after they fix the Wi-Fi). We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
All I wanted was a space for one night where I didn't have to unhook. The first greeter sent us to the big landing strip. I pulled all the way forward and we waited for about 10 minutes and no second greeter. My wife headed back to where we thought maybe the office was. This is a big complex and finding the correct office wasn't easy. Probably in snowbird season it is not a problem, but as business moves on so does the help. If you are staying one night you get a total parking lot experience. All blacktop and cement: no trees, bushes or grass or gravel. Good luck getting your dog to the pet run before it's too late. We always pick up after our pet but I can't pick up liquid. This place was just a little too sterile for us. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
From a strictly specifications standpoint, this place has all the stuff - huge sites (100'x50'), gorgeous main building with pool, spa and activities center, golf, tennis, lawn bowling, pickle ball, etc., etc., etc. Satellite buildings for bathrooms, showers, laundry, pool and spa can be a trek but are nice and clean. The biggest drawback is the aesthetics of the RV sites. All pink gravel with a cement pad and one palm tree separating each site. The utilities are so far back, we need extensions for everything (because they're designed for park models). With the size of this community, the view is of a sea of gravel, cement, and pavement. Just looking at it makes you thirsty. The park model homes have taken all the good sites around the golf course and lakes, and their exterior design is tired and a little depressing (like, "Hope I don't end up like this.") We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Oh man! So close and yet so far. Beautifully landscaped around the club house and pool area. A real library. Amazing activities "in season". But when we first drove in and saw these little, white "park homes" that look like prisoner of war camp housing surrounding the golf course, my heart sank. Then, when we drove out to the fields of gravel, I became depressed. I now understand that Arizona and Nevada can't do grass, but. If you're going to have park homes, why can't you create aesthetically pleasing plastic ones? Why can't you do something with the acres of gravel for those of us visiting? Sorry. We can't call you an RV Resort. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Wow! This place is organized. As you pull through the gates, you are directed to the registration area. It is like a landing strip. You pull your RV into a huge area. A registration agent follows you on foot and gathers your information. This is a 55+ RV park. Luckily, my husband is slightly over 55. The registration person walks you to the front desk and there you are assigned your spot and you have your picture taken for a badge that you must wear. There is alot to do here. Sewing room, pottery room, stained glass. The golf course looks nice. I am not a golfer though. There is a specific area if you are a pet owner and grassy fenced areas for your pet to potty. Our lot had full hookups. No grass or trees on the lots, but there are huge lots. I think their goal is to have more "park models". I hope they leave some spots for motorhomes. Our goal is to return next winter for a longer stay. It is a fantastic place. I did not experience the hassle of the "free week" as the previous reviewer indicated. They gave is our free week without any problems. Would definitely stay again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Beautiful resort, lots of activities, we used our bikes to get around. OK golf course. Very friendly worker/volunteers. We were not impressed with the way they avoid giving the "free week" and heard from many others that they had to argue to get what they were promised. Liked the area for ease of pace and getting around. Lots of great golf courses nearby. We may return in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for 32 nights and because we could not stay another 2 weeks were not given any free nights: the program for 1st time visitors is pay for 1 week and get 1 free, pay for 2 weeks and get 1 free, pay for a month and get 2 weeks free. No pay for 3 weeks and get 1 free which we found very strange, but that was the way it was. We frequently heard that this year because of the free weeks the park was fuller than it has been in the past 8 years or so. The pet section only had 2 spots for several days the first of February. We were fortunate to get tickets for everything we wanted to attended except for one singer. There are only so many seats and it is understandable that those who are here longer purchase tickets for their entire stay, thus short time visitors may not get any but we would not rate the park and 8 because of that. The sites are very long and wide so you aren't on top of the person next door. You park on gravel and there is a cement pad at the majority of sites. The power is good and they pick up trash at your site twice a week. There are park models and villa homes in the park but also large areas were there are only RVs. We were in the pet section and close to the wall on Hennesse Rd., but had no problem with any noise nor did we find the livestock odor bothersome. Everyone from the ranger at the gate to guest services and people in the park were very friendly. We saw them put down more gravel after the hard rains when ruts were in the sites that had recently been vacated. The entire park appears well maintained and very clean. We will most likely return for 3 months next year. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here for 2 weeks on a stay one week, get one free - paying taxes on the second week. This is a mega resort, which has it's pros and cons. The PROS- well landscaped, friendly and welcoming staff. Large, leveled and graveled and slabbed site. Clean restrooms, and laundry facilities. Common areas modern, and clean. Nice bistro, with limited, but tasty salad and sandwich options. Pet and non-pet areas segregated. We stayed in the pet area in a MH, and had several dog parks where you could hang out socialize with other dogs and their owners. Tolerant of pets and their duty needs, as long as owners clean up - no problem. Very friendly folks in the pet area. Now the CONS - very large resort, so in order to experience the community area, a bike, cart, or car required. Lots of activities, but more for long term or seasonal residents. Almost full capacity during our stay, so the 2 pool areas - not enough chairs, and very crowded. Exercise room small for such a large community. Must buy laundry cards with a purchase surcharge. The backside of the park can be noisy, as you are next to a busy road. There were several times where the livestock smell was overwhelming, had to close our windows to eliminate the odor. Wi-Fi was extra - if you could even get a signal. Charged .75 per half hour to use the Internet in the computer rooms. Events scheduled crowded, and sold out - so again, more for the seasonal and permanent residents. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay, and I would most likely stay a bit longer, at least a couple of months next time. Would also like to see a cafe or restaurant everyday, with longer operating hours. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for two months during Feb and Mar 2009. This is truly a resort more than it is a campground. Numerous activities including golf, pickleball, crafts, cards, pools, hot tub. No excuses to ever be bored. Best place we have ever stayed. We are coming back for three months next year. Sites are spacious and well developed. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A beautiful park with lousy WIFI. A great dog park. There is not a great executive length golf course but several terrific full size courses nearby. It was not busy and there are tons of open spaces here in mid-February. Management doesn't appear smart or particularly ethical because if you don't purposefully ask about the 'first time' special (buy a week and get a week free), they won't tell you. The people on their counter tried to act surprised when I mentioned it even though they have a sheet on rates in their drawer that explains the 'special'. This treatment has meant that we will probably not stay here again even though it is a lovely park. It quite obvious that they have issues here and have priced this park out of the game because all the other big parks, such as Sundance and Fiesta Grande appear to be totally full. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We loved this place! It was very beautiful. Actually looked like the pictures. The executive golf course was great too and soooo inexpensive. We came here with my parents and really loved it. They seemed to be very organized and interested in keeping the reputation up to par. I didn't have any golf clubs and the Pro-Shop loaned us a nice set for free. We sure wish we were old enough to come here on our own! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Big over 55 resort. Half park models and rest MH/Trailers. It was off season so it was deserted. Great grounds and facilities. I did not rate higher as we were not given any info about the park or its facilities. Sites that are owned and are back ins are stone with cement pads. They are very nice. The pull throughs are a large parking lot with hook ups. They were great for an overnight. I'm glad they take overnighters but they do not really put out the welcome mat. During high season it probably is much friendlier. Wi-Fi is pay by day and strong where we were. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is an age restricted park designed for the active senior. If you want activities, golf, restaurant this may be the place for you. The sites are all back-in gravel with a slab next to the RV for a patio area. This is an ideal campground if you want to spend some time. It is not the best if you are looking for a quick one night stay with a pull through. They have an excellent pet area with grass and fence. The facilities all are upscale and nice. We would camp here again if we wanted to stay for a week or longer. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an outstanding park. It is beautiful in every way and has more activities than anyone can work into their day. It has its own golf course, and the golf course and entire park are beautifully maintained. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. Palm Creek was voted mega park of the year in 2007 and it is highly deserved. The winter rates are pricey, but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for." We stayed for five months and will definitely go back again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a beautiful park. We only stayed a few days so the short term spaces are like a parking lot. But if you are staying longer, the sites are fine, although not large. This is the only reason we did not rate it a ten. The facilities are top notch and there is a lot to do. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is not a RV park it is a RV city {ok a small city]. Having to wear a name tag when out and about was amusing. If like me your idea of morning coffee at the rec centre is 8.30am this place is not for you. If 5.30am works for you then you are in the right place. If like me lights out is sometime after the 11 oclock news you are in the wrong place. If sometime after the 7oclock news is more your style then you will have lots of company. Although we stayed a month we never got to interact with the other inmates most who seemed to be regulars with well established social networks, although they did occasionally raise a hand as they buzzed past in their golf carts on their way to their next social activity or the dog run [well how else is a dog going to get there} Now dont get me wrong this looks like a great place to retire - just make sure you are ready. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We spent the winter here, so nightly rate reflects long term discount. This was our first experience in a resort for "active seniors" (55+) and there was no end of things to do. It was like being at a summer camp for adults. Learned how to play Pickleball and became instant addicts. Sites were spacious, but gravel only, no grass or picnic tables. Lots of returning "snowbirds". Generally helpful staff. Great place to spend the winter! We camped here in a Motorhome.
One of the best RV Resorts by far. Lots of amenities and things to do. Sites are quite spacious. We stayed here on a special promotion. Would definitely stay here again. We were here for a week in December 2007 over Christmas and New Year. Great people and volunteers. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a excelent park in Arizona, the only complaint is that when you spend the winter months there it tends to be a bit cliqueish, so if you are not in a group of friends it is hard to make them there, groups tend to come together and stay that way with no outsiders let in. Park is well run but very big and sometimes activities seem a bit crowed. This is a 55 plus park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Absolutely, without a doubt the best RV Park in America. We came for a night and now we are staying for the week. My DW wants us to stay a month. The grounds and amenities are like those in a high end resort by Four Seasons or Marriott. Each of these features was a "Best in RV America": golf, pool, jacuzzi, landscaping, laundry, restrooms, staff, cleanliness, all-around-nice, and I could go on and on. Just great! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has many permanent homes and many RV sites. It is huge. The office staff was helpful. A ranger leads you to your site and helps you back in. All sites are gravel with a concrete pad. WIFI is available for a fee, and had a very strong signal. Golf course was closed due to overseeding time of year. No grass near sites and no picnic tables at the sites. Very pet friendly. A number of pools, spas, boche ball courts, horseshoes. Activity center has about 4 people working in there, so there would never be a shortage of things to do for the longer staying resident. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The best park we have ever stayed in. The only reason for not giving it a 10 is the WiFi service through Coach Connect was spotty. When we return I will get DSL line for same cost. Free phone for in-park use and receiving outside calls. Almost any activity you desire except trap shooting or sand volleyball. Large spaces and wide streets, monthly (winter season) craft sales and weekly dances are just a few of the extras. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This really is a 10 resort with every activity you can think of and the place is spotless. Plus the $15 golf is great, but, the Wi-Fi for the price is the pits. At 11 bps for 1890 sites is slower than a modem and you get dropped out all the time unless you use it a 3am and for such a high level resort you think they would have better service available for their quests. This is still the nicest place we have ever stayed on our journey across the United States heading east. They were very accommodating in getting us spot after a week for an additional month because of weather. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We loved this park. We booked for three months and stayed an additional 2 weeks. There is so much to do and everyone is so friendly. It was necessary to wear name tags when in the park facilities but that worked out great as you met so many people it was easier to remember names. We were in the pet section of the park and found that the dog parks within the park were well maintained and large. Having the capability to make a phone call between the sites (at no charge) was really convenient. Should we get back to Arizona we are sure to spend time here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Most of their sites are back in but they do have a few that are pull-throughs for overnighters. That's where we parked and it was between a nice grassy area with palm trees and the permanent small homes there. This space did not have cable. This park is beautiful, it looks like a 5 star hotel driving into it, with lots of grass, flowers, lakes, palm trees and lots of Christmas lights on the palm trees. One negative was at times a very slight smell of cattle. I don't know where they were, you couldn't see them nearby. We liked it there so much we stayed two nights instead of the planned one night, and would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We used to winter in Mexico and stopped here on the way out 5 years ago. We have been annual residents since. We only spend the winters here because of the heat and summer in Oregon. Tennis is my passion and there is terrific group of around 100 players of all ability levels. There is nearly every activity and ammenity you could imagine. This is hands down the finest RV park we have ever found. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is really more of a (55+) mobile home community than a RV Resort but it's still the nicest resort in the desert. Beautifully manicured grounds and amenities galore, this park has plenty to offer. We lied about our ages to gain entrance and it's hotter than hades here in the summer months but overll enjoyable. If the park had concrete drives instead of gravel and free wi-fi, I would have rated it higher We camped here in a Motorhome.
Fantastic park. Everything you would want and then more. Rate shown is based upon monthly rates + Electric. Only one thing to complain about - the WiFi is poor, they claim to be trying for fix it, but saw little improvement over 3 months. Everything else is great. Park is spotless and landscaping is beautiful. Golf course (par 3) is in beautiful shape. Too many activities to keep up with. Would be an outstanding place to spend your winter. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This resort is just that, a true 4 star resort. If your looking for a campground, look elsewhere cause this isn't for campers. Extremely clean, vast amounts of activities and buildings that would give even some of the nicer hotels a run for their money. The RV'ers are very friendly and we made some great friends. Their sites are huge - 70 ft. long and 45 ft. wide with good electric and water. I cannot comment on the WiFi as I did'nt use it but neighbors reported it worked great. The downside is that the streets are not lit (only on the corners) and the sites can get dusty. If your someone who is looking for a place to stay a while, this resort is for you. I can promise you that you will find boat loads of activities from sewing to pottery to one of the countries best stocked and outfitted woodshops. It is a great destination resort. We had a ball here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an outstanding resort-type campground, with lush landscaping around the golf course, and excellent maintenance, and with a vast array of activities. The facilities are all equivalent to a four-star hotel. Contrary to the previous poster, we were pleased that there were so many volunteers helping with the operations. This included volunteer greeters when we arrived after a long trip, and volunteer "rangers" who help you get parked at the site - and, of course, help make sure you don't run into things while parking. We are already planning to return next year, for a longer stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
When you register you are presented with a 46 page rule book. They charge for everything including electricity. The place is run by volunteers. You have to wear a name badge everywhere. It is close to a prison mentality. Don't stay here in October because nothing is 'open'. The 18 hole course is all par 3s. It is not an Outdoor Resorts. Very disappointed. I stayed here from mid-October to mid-November. I will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the best RV park I've stayed in. Rate was actually $14 per night for 1st 5 nights, then increased to $25 a night. All sites are back in but a park employee escorts you to the site and helps to guide you into site. Park very clean and well maintained. Snow birds had left during my stay so most sites were not occupied. This is a 55+ park. They have a great executive golf course on premisis. All interior roads were paved and large enough to handle the largest rigs. This park will be hard to beat. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice large spaces. Many amenities. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We liked the security of the park. There is always an attendent at the gate stopping people from just coming in. They have separate areas for people with pets which we appreciated. Our only complaint is since they added the second 1000 sites, it seemed a bit crowded at times trying to use the facilities. Not sure of the nightly rate since we rented for a couple of months. Also, it is an over 55 park, I believe. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a 55+, private park for Escapees' members only. It is the original Escapees park and therefore a little tight to maneuver. All sites are privately owned and rented through the co-op. It's a great group of people and the park is well maintained. The area is completely fenced but gates provide easy access to the surrounding desert. We are here for 5 nights and will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very quiet park within the city of Casa Grande. I did stay here in the "off season" as it is mainly a winter visitor park. The sites are very spacious, with great electric service and great water pressure. The park is convenient to shopping, entertainment, dining, fuel and everything else a person would require. There is good security in the park with a security gate that closes at 7 PM and opens again at 6 AM. They provide a pass key to operate the gate after hours. The manager is very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The rate quoted is for a months stay and included all utilities and equates to $407.00 per month. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly park host greeted us upon check-in. We were offered a choice of several sites & we chose the one we spent the next 4 days in. Clean resort, lots of amenities, but a few things we found odd. 1. The dog walk outside the park is a virtual mud hole when it's wet! Odder still, there's nowhere to deposit pet waste once you've picked it up! 2. Not a garbage can anywhere to be found - ALL the garbage cans for the entire park are about 1/2 mile away at one end of the resort. 3. The available wifi is expensive for what you get (according to residents). I opted to take my netbook up to the library, where you can hook up for free. Other than those little hiccups, the sites are large with patios. Considering how lovely the weather is as a rule in Casa Grande, a patio is almost a requirement! Close to town for the inevitable necessities, and close to attractions. Also necessary when you're in the area as a tourist. About 20 + mins to Casa Grande ruins. We'd stay here again - for no other reason than the people in the park! Nice to be surrounded by friendly faces when you're a long ways from home! We camped here in a Motorhome.
The nightly rate was based on weekly stay. We had to pay for internet if we didn't wish to sit at the office areas for connection. Stayed in pull-thru which was very hot on pavement with no shade. Very friendly staff, residents and other campers. There was combination park models, transient units so there were lots of activities. The restrooms, showers, laundry and all facilities are super clean. This park has some "no dog" areas and no dog runs within the park so had to take our dog outside the park to exercise. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Passport America rate in November. Wanted to check out one of the 'mega parks' in this area for future considerations. Huge park: mostly park models/single wides with some RV's parked amongst them long term. To me, it's a stick built subdivision that let some RV's in. Guard gated with code for after hours. As others have stated, transient/overnighters are parked on the 'hot lot,' near the office/pool, which is a large cement lot with hook ups, side by side down the row. A place to spend the night (or two) but Wal-Mart has the same thing (without the hookups of course). Checked out the facilities. They have a ton of things going on. Warm pool/partially covered. Nice large covered spa. Friendly staff and 'hello's' from the residents as they went by on their morning walks or bikes or golf carts. An older park, on the edge of Casa Grande. Not as dazzling as some other places we saw for about the same (regular) rate. Mixed feelings about this place as the residents I met like it here, but it wasn't my thing. Train bothered us: sounded long and loud horns several times all night long. Not the park's fault of course, but it is a consideration. Provided cable good, AT&T cell ok and Verizon air card worked. Since there are no trees, of course satellite TV was fine. Even though the rate was fair, and maybe fine for some, we will continue looking and would not come back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very well maintained 55+ park. Everyone extremely friendly and welcoming. Sites are large, level, gravel with concrete pad and back-in except for short stay, pull through area which is all concrete. Loved the "no pet" sections: no waking to barking dogs for 2 months. However we heard that the owner's may change this in the near future, despite objection of current residents. Beautiful pool and other facilities. Every activity you can think of is available: some have slight charges, but mostly to help pay for pot luck party supplies. During our stay, we did not experience the bad smell, but were told it has happened, and just depends on the wind direction. Train noise was minimal to us. Monthly or seasonal guests are charged extra for cable TV. Wi-Fi was only available in clubhouse and not very good. Verizon cell and hot spot worked OK. Direct TV signal was fine. We will return, provided the "no pet" areas continue. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a active filled park, never a dull moment. Activities, lessons, group trips. Everyone was friendly even to us: monthly stays. We would be invited to join in the ATV rides. Nice size town, with every store you need. Area can have a smell and be dusty. Will go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for the winter, 5 months. The park is awesome but the trains are annoying. A couple times a week the winds will blow in the smells from a nearby cattle feed lot but being farm people that didn't bother us. The park is about half park models who kind of keep to themselves so try to park near other RV's. The park has a gate and a wall completely around it. The wall is not high enough to keep the thieves out. One night 22 sites were burglarized which seemed to be no big deal to the park, police or newspaper. Just seemed like an everyday occurrence to them. The dust in the air is probably the worst thing about the area. It seems to never rain to clean the air and most people have allergic reactions. I would have to give the park very high ratings but not the area. If you like this area, this is the place for you. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
It's a snowbird park but still has many empty sites for RVs. Area in front has convenient pull-throughs for overnight or weekly. There is a nice pool and spa, small fitness room and other amenities. Our favorite things here were the cable TV with HBO, ESPN, etc., and the extensive dog walk along the canal. Too bad there wasn't a trash can nearby. The only dumpsters and recycling cans were on the far, far side. Be sure to get a site away from the streets and train tracks. But you can't avoid the smell of the local cattle, especially at night. Hosts and desk staff were all helpful, except for one woman, and the inept mail room staff. Manager was super nice. But park residents could care less about the "transient" RVers. Yet, this is a good place at a fair rate. Prices may go up in the busy season but still a good deal. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent park with great amenities. Lot of park models, but still room for lots of RVs. Staff very helpful. Unbelievable nice park for only $20 a night. Verizon worked good here. Will stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has all the bells and whistles. Rv parks need to be more than facilities. Taking your money at check-in, the lady is nice and polite. When you decide to move on, her attitude turns to resentment and anger. Nicest person in the park was the landscaper. This park is eliminating RV's. 90% is now park models. Plenty of other excellent parks in area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park caters to the seasonal and year round crowd. I estimate that more than half the units are park models. I found, as a younger (63) newcomer, I didn't fit in as much as I would have liked due to the socializing was amongst those that had been coming here for years. Plenty to do as they had excellent facilities with a large number of planned activities. Near a main railway line so it takes a while to get used to the rumbling and whistles during the night. From time to time, there is quite an odor from the dairy farms in the area. Some Pull-Through sites but seems to be for those that arrive early before their booked site is ready or short term-ers. We were charged the monthly rate for the month we spent here. Not sure of the daily rate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a 55+ park. Site are large, level & easy to to in to. Most are gravel, a few are paved. Roads are paved and wide. There are a few trees but they cause no problems. There are a lot of park models. There is a large clean laundry. Showers are clean. We liked having the instant telephone & cable included in the daily & weekly rate. They have lots of activities & entertainment in the winter. There is a security gate for which they give you a code to use at night when it is closed. There is a railroad track about 1/4 mile away, so you get some train noise. We will go back to this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is better described as a mobile home park with RV's allowed. All sites are gravel with no grass anywhere in park. Patios are small unless you are on favorites list and get extended size one. Owners of park models rule this park and definitely do not make you feel welcome. Pets are left to be walked in a canal area subject to rodents and snakes. Staff in office leaves much to be desired, as if you are inconveniencing them, especially on weekends. There is no shade here so have your AC tuned up. We stayed 3 months since we had paid up front but will not return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The friendliest park we have found in a long time. Very clean and much to do. Few pull through sites and are for short stays only. The instant phone at site is wonderful as is the full line of cable channels. Very quiet park. Has a pet section with pet walk. Gravel sites but concrete patios. Lots of park models but still more RV sites than park models. In town but has country feeling and away from the Interstate. Located half way between Phoenix and Tucson makes this a great park to see the attractions in both cities. A great winter park with very reasonable rates. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A winter retirement type community with several park models. Extra charge for cable tv and phone service. Lot is gravel w/concrete patio. Large lots, all back in. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a fairly new park, and everything looks new and clean. It appears to be more of a winter snowbird park, but had several sites for transients, and we paid the PA rate. Came in after hours, but the friendly and helpful staff came right out to check us in and lead us to our site, which was a back-in, but very large. The near WiFi was being worked on, so we used the system at the clubhouse. The WiFi worked great, and the clubhouse was large and tastefully decorated. We would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is not in Casa Grande as it says: it is several miles southeast. An OK park but the spaces are hard to get in to. All are back in and the streets are narrow. Not a tree in sight in this flat, hot desert area. Some stay year around, some leave their rigs for the summer. Although things were winding down, they still had quite a few activities going on. We were here only 2 nights, so didn't get involved in anything. We did talk to one of our neighbors, who said since they were only here for a month each winter, it was hard to feel part of the activities. Park was very clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park, too many politics going on between residents and board officials: lots of unhappy people around. Office staff are mostly volunteers. The sewer smell is awful. There is a water treatment plant across street. There is no dog area. Probably won't be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Stayed two weeks. Very quiet. A lot of sites are hard to get into with a big rig. All are back ins. Sites are straight back ins. We were able to get into one site on one of the end rows. Back of 5th wheel window was able to look out into the desert. See all the wildlife. Only other complaint was a sewer smell from the new sewer plant up the road. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Came back to this place because of Passport America rate- hard to beat $77 a week. The catch to this park is that there are only 22 sites available for transient RVers, out of 525. This is a co-op park of lots owned by elderly Midwesterners and Canadians, staying in park models or RVs. Nice folks who retire soon after the 5pm dinner. Verizon aircard and cell still hard to use but free wifi in 2 buildings. Practically NO tv reception on antenna. Some cow odor from dairy down road. Still a nice little, boring place for a cheap visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.
While this is a nice park, it is nowhere close to being the best in Arizona, as a previous poster claimed. It's an older place, mostly park models, and with a geriatric population. At least there are more real RVs here than in some of the snowbird parks in Phoenix/Mesa, where it's 90% park models. The clubhouse, activity center, & pool are plain and functional. No fitness center, no cable tv. Wifi in the buildings only, VZ aircard has weak signal since park is in the boonies, no services nearby. Sites are gravel and a good size. Best features: quiet, clean, safe, and on Passport America for one week. Monthly rates are reasonable. Drawbacks: you must have a car to get anywhere, and the water is very hard and lacking in pressure. Water purity tester said 674, which is well over the EPA level of 500. Residents use filters and softeners, and drink the RO machine water. Several parks in town are better than this one, but get the feedlot smell. So it's all in the trade-offs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We found this park by word of mouth. It is a owner/co-op park with each site either owned by the park, or individuals. Each site is about 40 ft wide by 60 ft long. Sites are very level, and all gravel, except each site has a cement patio and walkways. All streets are paved and wide. The park is about 1 mile from the Pinal County fairgrounds, and about 7 miles east of Casa Grande. It is out in farm country and other than the coyotes, very quiet. About half the park is park models, and all kept very clean and landscaped. We find the activities are geared to all adult ages, as the park is a 40 and over park. We will return the next time we are in this area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
For 55+, this is a wonderful, quiet, clean and well laid out park approximate half way between Phoenix and Tucson. The campers, residents, hosts, are friendly and it has a plethora of well planned activities, entertainment and dining. We spend our winters in a 5th wheel and have stayed here for the past 5 years for times varying form 1 month to 3. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great park for snowbirds. A 55+ park. We spent 5 months and plan on going again. Very friendly park with great staff and management. Close to Tucson and Phoenix. All kinds of activities and something for everyone. Activities well planned and carried out. A must stay if you are in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
