I stayed at this park for an extended stay, about a year and a half, while I was in school. I really enjoyed my stay. The park was clean, well maintained, and well managed. The pool was always clean and was family friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 3 nights in a 35-foot motorhome. We had to back in and then park our car in front. It was a tight squeeze for both, so I doubt that anything much bigger could fit. The park is old and small and with mostly permanent residents. It is clean and well maintained and the pool area was attractive. There is a charge to use the bathrooms and showers and the laundry area was kept locked, too. The owner was friendly to me but I don't think I would want to cross her. It is close to the expressway so there was a lot of noise, but that makes it convenient to most things. This would be a good location if you were planning long term because it is "homey". We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is clean and green. It's more of a full-time resident park rather than a vacation RV park. We were handed a couple of dozen pages of rules. The park is near a fairly busy road and also has planes flying overhead. Children are to be kept next to your RV, so it's safe to say it's not really child-friendly. It's quite suitable for a one-night stay. We felt safe here. The residents are quiet. Both restrooms were closed for repairs. Wi-Fi is no longer free: It's $3.99/day or you can buy a weekly or monthly Tengo plan. The Wi-Fi is strong. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a tough one to rate. The sites are very narrow and one may have to park cockeyed to be able to open slides. The pool was fine and the spa was cool compared to others. Most of the park is homes and just a small area for RVs. Getting there is a battle. All I can say is read the directions the Web gives and look at a map if coming in from a different way as we were. Both GPS's tried to send us down streets that were not made for RV traffic. We camped here in a Motorhome.

No security - the gate was wide open day and night. The spaces seemed narrow. There is no atmosphere to speak of. It is located in a so-so neighborhood in north west Phoenix. We had no real contact with staff. It is OK for overnight, but I can't imagine spending any serious time in this place. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park could be rename the Purple Park for the color scheme and shirts worn by the very friendly staff. We stayed here for four nights. It was very convenient for our purposes. I might have given it a 10 but for two things. First, the entrance and exit have concrete runoff channels between Williams Road and the park driveway. We were very careful and scraped both entering and exiting. And we noticed many other coachs, fifth wheels and trailers experiencing the same thing. Second, and less of an issue, was the noise when planes were taking off from Deer Valley Airport when the wind was out of the west. That said, we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park and the staff is very friendly. Easy access from I-17. When I was there, the pool was drained and the laundromat was closed for repairs. No wifi. Internet and cable is only available from a local provider and is charged by the month only. You can get local channels with your antenna. I only stayed overnight, so I didn't need any of these things. Again, very clean and well maintained. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very close to I-17, easy in and out of park. Excellent location on the north end of Phoenix. Low key and quiet park, mainly working class people. Monthly rates available, I stayed for three months while working and would stay again if in the area, reasonable rates. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice quiet park with friendly staff. The overnight pull through spots are long and wide. Utilities worked fine. This was our 2nd time staying there as a base for spring training baseball and we'll be back again next year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a great campground. Staff couldn't be more friendly, or helpful. The things to do around the resort could keep you busy most of the time. I enjoyed the pool, golf hitting cage, and library with their computers. It didn't bother me that Wi-Fi costs at the sites and free in the club house area. Close to just about everything. I will be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the 4th time or so we have stayed here as it is convenient to the Mayo Phoenix campus. I have not a clue what the person who gave them a 3 was talking about - have never seen any of that here. It is mainly a resident community, older to be sure but well kept up. The laundry is great and huge. As are the pool and jacuzzi - both indoor. Short term sites are pretty level and long. Downside is no TV for short term section and Wi-Fi is Tengointernet which is fine except they don't tell you that up front. It works great. We are certainly happy here and would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a mostly permanent resident park. However, it is a very nice place to park that is well organized, reasonable, easy to get a big rig in. In fact I found nothing wrong with this park, but nothing to motivate me to score them above an 8. This park is in the city. But it is in a mid range residential area and quiet. If your GPS routes you through relatively narrow residential streets as my new Garmin did don't worry about it. Getting a space is not a problem here in the summer. We camped here in a Motorhome.

After reading some of the previous reviews we had our concerns, but we wanted to try a park closer to Phoenix so we gave this park a shot. Our pull through site (#503) was level, and long enough that we didn't have to unhitch the trailer if we didn't want to. The hookups worked fine. There is no cable TV for the overnight spots but the local stations come in fine. The staff was friendly and the pool and spa were nice. We were travelling with the family and we were charged $3 per person per night extra which we didn't care for, otherwise we would've rated the park a little higher. All told we would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground isn't bad. The park is mostly full of really old park models that are beginning to look rather sad. Contrary to the what it says in RV Reviews: cable TV is not really available. You have to subscribe with Cox TV and if you are only staying a week or so, it doesn't make sense. Costco is literally out the back gate but you have to purchase a key in order to get out back there. We were just passing through and probably will find someplace else to stay next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park in that it is close to the downtown, 5 miles. It is predominantly a retirement village, with long term residents with lots of trailers a few RV's for the snow-birds. They do rent some spots for short term RVers. The short-term area is very adequate and well maintained. I would not recommend this park to anyone with a pet. They have rules preventing you from walking a dog any place inside of the park. You must walk outside of the park, so unless you have a stroller like the full time residents, you need to carry your pet a long way or drive. They don't advertise this rule nor tell you this until you check in. This is very bad policy, and had we been told of this we would have found other accommodations! The other issue is the front gate. On arrival you are stopped at a front gate with limited space; you don't have sufficient space to clear your tow car from the street. No one form the office came by to open the gate for us. We are only 65 ft long (44ft coach plus the car). One of the residents came by to rescue us form this dangerous situation. It's just as bad when you leave; you have to pull out into traffic or risk the gates closing on your tow car. The Wi-Fi was very poor. I also felt the staff in the office to be inhospitable to short term renters. I feel you're better spending a little more and enjoy the park next door; plus you can enjoy the golf. We camped here in a Motorhome.

On our cross country trip we were going to spend a bit of time in Phoenix and went to this resort to see if we could stay a month. The park is OK. Nothing fancy. The office looks like a converted 70's church. The park itself is big, and has a lot of residents. It looks more like a mobile home park than an RV park. Their monthly rate is $595 plus tax and electricity, daily rate was $36 and weekly rate was $226.80 (plus tax for both nightly and weekly) When we went to the office they told us that since we were under 55, that we could stay at the park for nightly and weekly rates with no limit on how long we wanted to stay, but we didn't qualify for the monthly rate because of our age. So it's a 55+ park I guess, but they'll overlook that part if you pay more. I'm repulsed by this treatment. I wouldn't stay here even if I was 55 because of this. Their monthly rate is also higher than a much nicer park we found. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an interesting place. It is predominantly a retirement village, with long term residents and snow-birds. However, they do maintain an area strictly for short term RVers. The short-term area is very adequate. There are pull throughs, on sturdy, level gravel. There is ample room between sites, so while you are close, you are not on top of your neighbor. The whole park is manicured and landscaped nicely. There is a dog run at the back of the park, and the neighborhood just outside the park is an excellent walking spot as well. There is a dog friendly section of the park, and a dog prohibited section of the park. Desert Sands has a wonderful pool and hot-tub area, and a huge laundry facility. There is a club house, and many more amenities. The staff was friendly, and helpful. Most of the people we met were just delightful, but in a park this size, you are bound to find at least one negative neighbor. She complained about me having too many dogs, but the staff was very courteous to us, and just asked us to walk them separately so that the number was not so obvious. All in all, a very good stay. Would return here again. BTW, take in the MIM (Musical Instrument Museum) if you go to Phoenix. We spent a wonderful day there! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV park is mainly a retirement community of well maintained mobile homes. Children are welcome for a maximum of 2 weeks but some of the amenities are for adults only. The indoor pool is open to children from 12am to 2pm and 5pm to 7pm, no children are allowed in the spa. The pool and spa were the best I have ever seen and the shower area was new and everything was very clean. There are many amenities available such a a billiard room, craft room, library and game room, fitness room, a very large laundry facility with a relaxing area and there is a auditorium where they have pot lucks, bingo and dances. The community is very friendly and the staff is always happy to help. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Staff at check-in was friendly and helpful. This 55 + park, has full hook-ups, air TV, WiFi ($), free WiFi in the park library, paved interior roads, sites are concrete and gravel. There's no tables, no grass, and little shade. Many full and long term guests, but their sites all well maintain. Park residents all seemed very friendly. Lots of activities in house, we stayed a week and would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The only reason I didn't rate this a 10 was because they won't hook up cable TV unless you're staying at least a week and you have to go to the library for free WiFi (otherwise it's fee-based Tengo). Nice, quiet 55+ resort with everything else you could want. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park, that is mostly permanent mobile homes. As you enter the park, on either side of the roadway are the sites for short time stays. These sites are pull-throughs and are level. There is no cable which was a downer as I had wanted to watch ESPN for NASCAR race. The TV signal though on antenna was very good for all the local stations. They have a very nice library with lots of books, a enclosed swimming pool which was very nice. A pool room with several tables, lots of outdoor shuffleboard courts, bocci ball court, bingo nights, a TV room and a nice laundry room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful pointing out stuff in the area to see and do. We would definitely stay here again. The WiFi was very good but it is a Tengo Internet pay by the day or week. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older park with mostly permanent residents, which is very typical in Arizona metropolitan areas. The RV spots were in their own rows, across large streets from permanent residents. Sites were large, level, gravel covered. The activity program is quite extensive if you're interested in that. We thought it was overpriced for the setting, but we'd stay there again for its proximity to Scottsdale and Phoenix. Excellent satellite access. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not nearly as nice as most of the snowbird parks over in Mesa, and the residents here seem very old and inactive. At least there's an RV area in the front so you can meet other travelers, but they are packed in fairly close. Pull- thru sites are $34 (plus 12% AZ tax!) and on thick gravel. Back-ins for $30 are nearby and also dispersed around the park, are tight & not level. Costco is behind the park, and I-17 nearby but noise wasn't bad. Security is worrisome though, since there are numerous signs about vandalism. Indoor pool and spa looked inviting. Laundry room is large but dryers are old. Only 3 small showers in dirty,cramped room by pool. Nice little library with one computer. Staff was friendly. If you really have to be in Phoenix, this is an okay place, but don't stay too long. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is well laid out and relatively quiet for being so centrally located. The facility amenities are second to none in my travels, thus far. Just be sure to lock everything in sight as things have a tendency to disappear day and night due to heavy transient traffic in area around park. This is a typical Phoenix area 'park model' site. But they have about 40 pull-thru sites near the entrance of the park. Paved streets, gravel pads. Big spaces. I stayed in space 283. I used the laundry - large with nice machines. I was meeting with a client in Peoria - only 8 miles away on 101. Office staff is efficient. I will stay here again if I need to meet with the client again. This park would be a 9 or 10 if it had some landscaping [grass] and privacy. Only item on the space was a worn out park bench - no picnic table. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nicely maintained park in a good location. We stayed here in 2011 and upon leaving in May 2011 we made a reservation for March 2012. We confirmed in January, 2012. Upon arrival our site was not available, and we were jammed into a site that was too small for our motorhome, and we could not level. There appears to be some deterioration in the attitudes of the staff. The owner does not seem to be nearly as involved as she was last year. When a larger site was requested, the desk clerk said "take it or you can go somewhere else". The handy-man did groom the site so we could eventually get leveled in it. We will search for an alternate location next year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We liked this park so much we plan on coming back this winter for an extended stay. Everything's clean and well-maintained. There's no shade, but there's shrubbery between the sites for some privacy, and the lots are spacious, as far as an RV park can have spacious sites. Our motorhome sat on gravel and there's a concrete patio slab in good condition, with a picnic table. Fires are allowed in a screened fire ring (bring your own), but you have to use pressed wood logs. The pool and laundry room were immaculate. Long-term inhabitants' trailers/motorhomes may not be older than 10 years old, so you won't see the tired ones that appear to be settling into the earth at other parks. There's easy access to I-17, making it a quick trip to downtown Phoenix. My only complaint was the Wi-Fi service: despite several connections to choose from, I could never get a page to load. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The sites are very close as mentioned before; very little shade; in 5% of the sites have LARGE rock which is hard on dog's paws. We were one of the 5% also that had no picnic table even after repeated requests. Office help appears to be responsive but ultimately don't do anything. If you're not crazy about personal aircraft flying overhead at all hours, you might want to look for another resort. Did laundry and my towels didn't spin dry AT ALL! We spent $$$ drying them. No notes to let folks know and for that many sites, it's a VERY small laundry facility. BTW Wi-Fi is only available - you pay! Not much for the money you pay! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We needed a place to stay on the west side of Phoenix and finally selected this one after some research. It was disappointing. The sites are really close together with narrow roads and had to park your vehicle along with your trailer/RV/Fifth wheel. The restrooms were adequate, but the Wi-Fi did not work and the office staff was of no help in addressing the issue. The pet areas are a joke especially if you have a larger dog. The other option is to walk down into the "wash" area which felt unsafe both from anyone being able to get down there and possible snakes and other critters in the brush along the sides. This is a fun RV park and is one of few we found in the Phoenix area that is family friendly. The park is very clean and neat. This park is right off I-17, but a sound wall keeps the road noise from reaching the park. During our stay, the citrus trees were loaded and the park staff encouraged our kids to climb the trees and pick as much as they could carry. This rating is based largely upon the "pull through" site we had. This place advertise "Spacious Premium Pull Through" sites and charges a premium for them. They are neither spacious, premium or pull through. Our site (as all of the pull through sites) was a very difficult to get into. It required a 5 point turn to make it. Glad we unhooked before we went to the site. It would have been a real mess it we hadn't unhooked. There is no way you can pull through w/o unhooking. The site was very narrow due to bushes (that hadn't been trimmed) and the utility pole. Also it was short, meaning we had to park in a vacant site across from us. When we finally got in, due to the tightness of the site, our slides hung 1/3 of the way over the concrete pad which for some odd reason was placed in just about the center of the site. As a result we could not enjoy the picnic table or our outside TV. The driver side rested against the bushes. Our site really deserved a 1 rating. The park is, however, very nice if you get a decent site. Clean (but old) restrooms and showers. Laundry was clean and the machines looked new. Pool was very nice. The big fence around it helped with the very high winds while we were here. Water, electric, Wi-Fi were all dependable. Shopping of all types is close by. For a "resort" park they should have had more channels on the TV cable. It is very near a big interstate, but thanks to the sound barriers put in place, you barely heard the traffic. If you stay h,ere be sure you unhook as soon as you pull in. The best spaces seemed to be the back ins at the far right, as you enter. Like all places you need to inspect the site before you accept it. If we had, I doubt we wound have accepted it. We would stay here again, but not in a premium pull through site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a wonderful place in north Phoenix! While near to Hwy 17, you do not hear the traffic. Every site has orange trees and other shrubs, which are both lovely and keep noise down. Known as the purple park, it is a nice touch on signposts and Activity Center. It is nice contrast to the green shrubbery. They have an affordable masseuse who comes to the park for appointments and a dog grooming service. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 6 months. Great staff, always helpful. Little pricey, but very clean and nice large spaces at back of park. We started with a 5th wheel and bought a 40' coach. We had plenty of room to move them around and they allowed us to park our 5th beside the coach to move items. Didn't get to enjoy the pool, but park was always groomed well. They repaved roads of park during our stay and were very strategic and orderly for our convenience. Definitely would stay there again if needing to be in north Phoenix area. As stated by others, this park is older, but pretty nice. Very convenient to Phoenix and close to the interstate, but noise is not a problem due to bushes around the perimeter of the park that muffle the noises. We did see evidence of the steep entry and exit, but we did not scrape. The exit seems steeper than the entry, so if you are worried about scraping, perhaps you could get permission to exit through the entrance. This landscape is not our cup of tea, but for the southwest, I guess it is the norm. Wi-Fi worked well, as did Verizon air card. We would have wished for cable TV. After eliminating the Spanish channels, the religious channels and the paid programming channels, there really are only about 5 channels that come in on air TV. We did not use the pool or bathhouse, but we did use the laundry and it was nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an older park with a fairly central location. Although the park is adjacent to a freeway, road noise was minimal due to a wall, bordered with large oleander trees. Roads are paved, with gravel sites. There are pull-through sites, but we were in a back-in site. Sites are small and close together. The park is small with tight turns. There is a pool, but we did not use it. We did not use the showers or laundry either. The biggest problem with this park is the entrance, which has a very steep transition from the street to the park and it is almost impossible not to scrape the pavement going in or out. There are numerous gouges in the pavement where other RVs have left their mark. We did not suffer any damage, but could have. We saw a 5th wheel leave and it scraped its spare tire which was mounted under the trailer. Because of this problem, we would probably not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This a great little resort to spend some time in. All roads in park are asphalt, in good shape with small speed bumps. Sites are pull-thru or back in with correct angles. You have 30/50 amps, water, sewer, cement pad and table on site. Hard to get over how nice this park is. The plants and trees are mature, large and nice to look at. Club house, pool / spa, laundry room, mail boxes, work out room, game room, small library, playground equipment, basketball court, place to store your RV, three dog runs and one with a dog washing station under a cover, what more could one ask for. Staff was nice and helpful at check in. Have your dog ask for a dog treat at check in. Wi-Fi is free from Tengo and had six or seven antennas in park so you can work from anyplace in park plus speed was very good. Verizon cell and air card worked well here. Over the air TV will pick up lots of channels. Sat. TV no problem on sites. West end of park butts up to I-17 but large tall wall stopped most noise. Air planes fly over park from Deer Valley airport but was not a problem to me. Your GPS will take you on a nice trip around the streets of Phoenix to get here. Take I-17 north and pass under Hwy 101. Soon you will see exit 215A Black Canyon Fwy, take it and stay on this road, travel north to west Williams Drive, turn right on to west Williams Drive, park will be on left side in 1/2 block. If you are moved south on I-17 use exit 217 to west Pinnacle Peak Road. Turn left into west Pinnacle Road and travel east to N 19th Ave. Turn right into N 19th Ave and travel south to west Williams Drive. Turn right on to west Williams drive and park will be on right side in 1/2 block. GPS address is 33.69139 -112.11060. We would return anytime to "The Purple Park". We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park that caters to long term stays. Shrubs between sites, and some sites have trees. Gravel sites with a concrete pad for your entry step. Good, free wi-fi. Dog washing station. Dog walks are tiny, but the dog walk near the registration office has access to a small wash where a dog can run for about a quarter of a mile. This wash was full of blooming Palo Verde trees in May. The campground is surrounded by Oleander bushes which were also blooming in May. Many birds and some rabbits in campground. Some airport noise from small aircraft at the nearby Deer Valley Phoenix Airport. Small exercise room with treadmill, elliptical trainer, older recumbent bike, cable TV, and a multi-purpose lifting machine. Pool table and video games in recreation hall. Small, clean pool. This park served as a jumping off point for our activities in the Phoenix area. It is located on the north side of town, which made it a convenient spot coming from Flagstaff. We left to go to Quartzsite from the park, so it was also convenient to the 101. The majority of the park is long-term and there are only 15-20 overnight spots, but they are wide and long pull-throughs with plenty of room to park the tow vehicle. There is no cable, but plenty of local digital channels (I think almost 30) came in on the converter. There is a lot of highway construction happening near the park, so call the office for directions. Your GPS will probably send you on a non-existent road! Would stay at again, but only as an ovenight/jumpoff stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very Nice park, friendly staff. We were here during off season, obviously. There were very few RVs here in June while it is 112-120 degrees, only us Texans I suppose. Close to shopping and restaraunts everywhere. Picnic tables were at the sites but it was just too hot to do much of anything outside in mid June. Sites are level. Not really a problem but - there is some road construction, looks like some kind of light rail system being put in around the city. Your GPS will not find the exact road into this place and there aren't many signs pointing in the right direction. But once you weave around once it's okay. All facilties very well kept. Limited signage to campground. Due to road work nearby directions to campground had changed. The campground is located in an industrial area next to the Interstate 17. Entrance to campground quite narrow and limited area to park and register. The office staff were friendly and efficient. Access roads to sites were paved but were a little narrow on the corners. We stayed here while our daughter was competing in a soccer tournament at the Reach 11 Soccer Complex. At first we were nervous of staying here as the area looked very industrial from Google Earth. Once we arrived, yes the park was surrounded by industrial stuff, but the park was clean and quiet. We could not have been happier with our stay. We had a back in site with bushes behind us and nice desert landscaping and a pad on the site. The spot was perfect and very well maintained. The entire park was actually very clean and actually pretty. The whole park is walled in with trees so you never notice the surroundings across the street from the park too. The pool area was nicely renovated and heated even in the winter. The clubhouse was also nice, although we never used it, just saw it. Overall a very pleasant stay at one of Phoenix's few RV parks that accept kids. Check out the virtual tour on their website because I was surprised the park actually looked as nice as their tour. We had kids with us and never were bothered, although they do give out a flier at check in that tells you that they don't accept children who don't follow rules. Our older teenagers never bothered them though and the staff seemed nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was an outstanding park. We chose it because it is one of the few parks in and around Phoenix that welcome children. We were in Phoenix to visit with our grandchildren and were be able to have them stay overnight in our 5th wheel and enjoy the park's exceptionally nice pool. The park is well-maintained and all of the facilities are very clean. The perimeter of the park is lined with trees and shrubs that block out the surrounding industrial neighborhood. Yes it is in an "industrial" part of town, but the hedges around the park pretty much block all that out. The park is very nice and clean. The pool is nice and the people are friendly. It is a short drive to most of the Phoenix area. The Wi-fi is great. It is under the glide path for the small, private airport, so there is some noise from that, and the spaces on the west side of the park are close enough to the freeway to really get that noise as well. We stayed on the east side, near the office and found it nice and quiet. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was an excellent park. I stayed there for just over three months last fall. The sites were large and well situated. The park has an excellent pool and community center (pool tables, large tv, etc. . . ) and the bathrooms are large and well maintained. The park loses two points for a couple reasons and these are my only complaints. The office hours are only for like three to four hours a day and given my schedule (I work nites) it was often difficult for me to talk with them. There is no camping store on site so if you needed little things like milk or bread you had to run out to the store. The final thing is that it is located in an industrial are with a couple mobile home parks nearby. It is not very scenic at all around there. However the park does a nice job of isolating itself from the surroundings. Overall a great place and I would return there If I needed to be in the area again for any length of time. We stayed in this park several months and loved it. The location, on the very north edge of Phoenix is great for using it as a point to explore places like Sedona, Grand Canyon, etc. The park is neat, clean, facilities were very nice. We had a "double site" which gave us some extra space which was nice. A new shopping center with Wal-Mart, Lowe's, etc., is just one exit north. Just be aware that the office has very limited hours, but don't despair. You can show up and they will have posted sites available for you to use if nobody is here. We'd definitely stay here again. This is a delightful, smaller park located in an industrial area of north Phoenix. Right off I-17 near the Deer Valley Rock Art Center, it's a great location for visiting the city or central AZ. Being a Spring Baseball fan, I think this would be a good location to stay while going to all the games. It's got a new dog grooming facility, a nice pet walk area, a spa and swimming pool, a children's play area, pool tables and a library. It is set up for short or long-term stays. Very neat and tidy and very friendly and helpful staff. About the only negative some folks might find is the location. It's right by the local airport and you can hear the planes pretty much all day but not at night. Also quite a few motorcycle enthusiasts stay here because there's a motorcycle repair school a few miles away. They have a 2 pet restriction but if they're inside your motor home all the time, I don't think it would be a problem having more. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great CG. There are no amenities other than the great outdoors but that's all we need. The staff are also really great to work with. We have a 40' rig and the campsite we were assigned was impossibly unlevel and super tight. The staff helped us find a suitable site for our stay in fact, the one we ended up with was much, much better and we will request this one on future visits. This though is a lesson to readers with big rigs-- caution many sites are very unlevel and tight--others though are certainly capable of hosting the biggest rigs. An added nice touch is the double dump station so you can get away faster than if there was only one. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Have been coming to Lake Pleasant for over ten years and it only gets better. Most of the sites in the Roadrunner camping area overlook the lake, what a view. The park Hosts are great and many of them have been coming here for years. Years ago there was only 30 amp service but now there is 50 amp at all sites and I have never had an electrical problem. New since April of this year is the reservation system and I think it's a great idea. You never knew with the old first come first served system if you could get a site during busy holidays. You can make a reservation six months in advance. There is also a new marina on this side of the lake with a fantastic restaurant right on the lake. This is the best COUNTY or STATE camping facility I have stayed at. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent RV park! Three-way sites are a bit small in the "compound area" but the 2-way sites that look out over the lake are much bigger (and cheaper!). Very clean bathrooms and showers, beautiful heated pool. We also made use of the free morning yoga classes at the recreation center. Check with the park to avoid some of the large fishing contests and rallies that are held here. Unless that's why you are going! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Located north of Phoenix, this county park is another gem in the Maricopa County system. There are multiple loops some with hookups, some without. It’s a well run park that was virtually sold out every night in January, but the winds from the north were a problem 3 of the 5 nights we were there. Serious winds enough to keep boats off the water and seriously rock RVs are enough to figure out whether certain times of the year are worse than others. I would not return here in January even though the views are unbelievably beautiful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We diverted here from the Cave Creek park because it was full over the Thanksgiving weekend. The only available hook up spaces were at the Roadrunner section which is somewhat remote from the lake itself - no big deal this late in the season and the lake level was at perhaps 50% full anyway. Very nice views from a perimeter back in site that was clean,level and provided with table,fire ring, barbeque and shade cover. Best of all was a ferocious thunder and lightning storm (the kind only a desert environment can provide) that made it ever so cozy to hunker down in the trailer and watch nature! We camped in Roadrunner, which has no sites that are on the water. About half of the sites in Roadrunner have lake views, the other half have mountain views. We found that Desert Tortoise, the other campground with a portion of sites with hookups, to be very tight to park a 34' coach. The camp sites were decent. This campground has several levels, which helps promote better views and more privacy. The ranger station personnel both by phone and in person were unfriendly and completely not helpful and would not even answer and perhaps really didn't know how many hookup sites were available at the time of the call. There were three camp hosts per campground loop, which seemed excessive. They seemed to do very little and had their "campground host off duty" signs on display while we were here. There is one walking trail accessible by foot from Roadrunner, which was a disappointment given that the entire park is reported to have hundreds of miles of trails. Also, at this time of year (water level was down 54%) you could not walk to the lake edge to launch a kayak, but would need to drive to the boat launch. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We loved this park. There were plenty of spots available, and we chose one right near the playground. The proximity to the play equipment, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the views of the lake were all big positives. We will definitely come back and hopefully stay at one of the pull throughs overlooking the lake.The only negatives are the lack of sewer hookups and more play equipment (no slides, no swings). We camp here all the time at the Roadrunner campground. We take the boat and dogs for a weekend (or more) of fun. You have stunning views of the lake, mountains, and absolutely beautiful sunsets. The evenings are generally 10 degrees cooler than in Phoenix, and you get a breeze most nights. The park is very well maintained, and Dick, the camp host, is always helpful, keeps the place clean, and is always driving around on his cart to see if there is anything he can do to make your stay better. We can walk down to the lake in 5 minutes to let our dogs swim in the morning before taking them on the boat in the afternoon. We only have 3 reasons this place won't get a 10. There are no sewer hookups anywhere in the park, although there is a dump station on the way out. Second reason is there are many sites that can be difficult to get into, even so much as bottoming out with your rear jacks. Third is, for a state park, many of the sites are really close to your neighbors. If you get a pull through, this is not an issue, as your patio/awning faces lakefront, but in some of the back in sites, you are looking right at your neighbor. None of these things will stop us from coming back to this park. It just stops us from giving it a 10. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice park for a county park. The sites tend to be a little small to back into, but are nicely situated with cabanas and picnic tables, as well as fire pits and grills. The lake is within view of most sites and fishing or swimming from the shore is a 5 minute walk down to the lake. There is a free dump station available near the exit to the park when you leave. A boat ramp and marina are also close by. It is a desert, so it is hot in the summer, but there are 50 amp service available to run your A/C. It does cool off at night. We stay here several times a year. ATV trails are also near by. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park a little off the beaten path, so plan accordingly. They do not take reservations so we called ahead, and were told they had lots of sites available. We arrived on a Sunday, and had no problems finding a spot for our 40 foot coach. The campground filled up on Tuesday as it was spring break, and was still full when we left on the following Sunday. We attended several spring training baseball games in Surprise from here. The drive is about 25 miles. It made a good 'base' camp. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A beautiful park, as others have noted. Many sites have views of the lake, great mountain views as well. They have two large and well-maintained boat ramps. There are some nice hiking trails. The only problem is that the park is first-come, first-serve - when you pay at the gate, you then have to drive around to find a site. The park was pretty full when we pulled in, so we grabbed the first site we saw open (which was very nice). A little later, we saw several folks driving around looking for sites. I assume they do not let in more people than they have sites available, but it could be a little nerve wracking having to drive all over the various roads looking for the one or two sites that are left. Located within walking distance of Lake Pleasant. We had a very large pull thru site (#15) and were very pleased. Very clean and security patrolled consistently. Wi-Fi was spotty but inexpensive ($5 for a week). Propane delivered Wed. and Sat. - sign up at the office. Many full timers but the sites were nicely maintained and a nice touch were the Christmas decorations (we could vote on the one we liked best.) Scottsdale was a half hour away (we were there for a family reunion) and a large grocery store and gas were just down the road (10 minutes.) Would definitely camp there again. The blonde lady everyone talks about is unbelievable and all reviews about her are true. If you complain or even ask about anything, you are asked to leave and there is a no refund policy. There is no customer service. The RV park is run down and dirty. Maybe the management should stop smoking and standing around and actually do some work! They should also take a communication course! There is an adult only section, but really the whole park should be for adults as they do not let children walk around the park or ride their bikes. We stayed here for 2 months ONLY because it was the closest park to where our son lives and the rate was reasonable. BUT, there are some REALLY trashy permanent trailers in the park and a REALLY trashy trailer park behind the RV park. Staff was friendly but when a permanent resident moved a disgusting, piece of garbage, trailer right behind us we complained and they refused to do anything about it. Evidently a permanent resident had moved out of it into another junky trailer and was trying to sell it. It was finally moved after 3 weeks. The RVers were friendly and so were most of the long term residents. Also, when we arrived the owner told us that he was going to be replacing the ratty picnic tables. Saw in a review from 2010 he was saying the same thing. Still has ratty picnic tables. We could not use ours. We would not stay here again. Rate is based on monthly rate + electric. Good location on north side of town with easy access to malls and restaurants and healthcare. Management was friendly and helpful. We ended up staying here 4 months instead of just 2 weeks that we initially planned. March-June. Pool and hot tub are on opposite sides of the park. Also some unusual campers here that work for the carnival. (Literally 20 people sharing a camper.) Lots of snowbirds, and year round residents, and students from the motorcycle school. Cable TV and internet are good. They also offer RV storage. If you are in search of a campground with the best weekly rates, this is it. Had a hard time finding affordable weekly rates in the area and lots of parks are 55+. They keep good tabs on the property and patrol it. We felt comfortable leaving our rig here for a week while we did a side trip. Sites are basic gravel. Occasional smells of garlic from the restaurant nearby. Rate was based on the weekly rate. The office help was very friendly and accommodated our needs in advance of our arrival. I arrived 30 mins after office hours, and they opened up and booked us. Tables are in need of refurbishing, and manager said it was on the schedule for this summer. Showers in the adults section could use some of those narrow flip up seats to make shower use easier by flipping up out of the way when exiting the showers. Whirlpool temp was nice and hot. Very rude manager who treated us like we were a bother from the minute we arrived. We were given a key to the laundry room where the internet access was for after 9:00pm use by the office staff. The Nightly Rate reflects a Monthly fee of $500.00. I was also charged for electricity for the site. I stayed here over EIGHT (8) years ago and to tell the truth not much has changed over that time. Sites are all gravel with no concrete pad and there is also no table available. They all do have full hookups and there was no problem with the power hookup during my stay. Laundry Room - OK. Men's room and showers have just been all redone and were very clean. The owners are upgrading but really not that much done in eight years. Close to shopping and restaurants and has great access to I-17 and the 101 loop. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Most guests are in long term park models (with additions). The sewer hookup was a male 3" pipe thread fitting. It took some time to find an adapter to connect. There were eight speed bumps between our site and the exit and these were the axle breaker type. We stayed for one week ($175). Their free WiFi was out of service for the entire week. We were here for the month of March. The nightly rate reflects our month plus electricity. We looked at over 20 parks in and around Phoenix before deciding on this one. The remote location is nicely balanced by the space and views. The pool problem is solved, and the pool and spa (although indoor) were convenient and clean. The park is located conveniently close to shopping, Lake Pleasant, and the Ben Avery shooting range. There are also about 3 miles of walking trails in the desert behind the park (watch for snakes). This place will be our choice again next year for Spring Training, and maybe even longer. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stay here four times a year since our kids live in nearby Anthem Country Club. We always request and are given (so far) the same spot on the main road entering the park. On our recent visit. There were never more than three short term units on site. I guess July in Phoenix when it is 115 degrees and no shade in site is not a great time for RVing. On our stays during other months of the year there is always a fair number of RV's but we have never seen this park full. We really like staying here and recommend it to others coming to the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a hard one to rate. On the plus side it is easy to get to right off the highway 17. The pull through sites are long but very narrow. Sometimes the rigs have to jockey around so they can open the slides. They are a 55+ campground that has all sorts of activities and get togethers such as dancing, singing and Pot Luck dinners. Several groups also come here for the spring training season. Close to many shopping areas. It is great to get up in the morning to watch the hot air balloons rising up into the sky. Drawback and main reason I rate it so low is the pool area. The building the pool is in has major roof problems and they are supposed to be fixing it this summer. My wife and I went swimming one day and after seeing the pieces of rusty metal on the floor and in the pool we said no way and never went back. They have free Wi-Fi in the lobby but it is down more than it is up. One point to note: Many people here are here for the Ben Avery Shooting Range. So if you don’t like the sound of small arms fire (once in a while a small cannon), or afraid to see people loading and unloading their weapons from the vehicles, then this place is not for you. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a 55+ park, with many full time residents. (If you are under 55, you can stay at this park for up to 2 weeks, however) We were here for 2 months, and the nightly rate reflects the monthly rate. It is a quiet, well maintained park. We had a spot on the perimeter of the park, so that our back windows gave us an unobstructed view of the desert. These spots are only available if you are staying 30 days or longer. If you are staying less than there, there are pull through spots closer to the club house. This park offers lots of activities and local trips. Indoor pool and spa were nice. Two laundry rooms with choices of large or small load machines. There are many clothes lines if you like to air dry your things. Bring your own clothes pins. This park is just north of the Phoenix City limits. Shopping is close by at Anthem and Happy Valley. Office staff was very help. We had a challenge with the sewer hookup, and they were there to fix it very quickly. We left the rig for a week at Christmas time, and no problems. Restrooms and showers were clean, but needed updating which is the only reason I did not give this park a 10. The Ben Avery Shooting Range is just over the hill, so there are days where you hear all the gun shot noise, but it was not that bad. The park is just off I-17, but we had no problem with traffic noise. We have family in the area, and would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

60 + Pull thrus fairly close together. Only negative. Everything else is Great. Clean and neat park, friendly staff, and quiet. Pioneer Arizona Living History Village next to park. Great Restaurant, opens at 6AM, 5 days a week. Definitely stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for two months during the peak winter season, because we had waited too late to make reservations at some of the resort parks in the area. Unlike other RV parks in the area, this one had lots of empty spaces. The pull through spaces are just dirt with hookups, and the back in spaces are similar. The park is mostly park models or old trailers. The activities are very limited, bingo, bridge, trips to casinos, gospel singing, ice cream socials. The indoor swimming pool was cloudy the entire time, so we didn't use it. The staff is very courteous, but this park doesn't have much to offer, other than it's on the edge of town and convenient to freeways. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are here for the next 3 months. The park is just a mile from Anthem, so shopping and some nice little restaurants are nearby, as well as an Outlet Mall. The pull through sites are all dirt, and very close to each other. We found an empty site in the park model section with a nice paved patio and some desert shrubs behind it, but it was a tight squeeze getting our living room slide out without hitting the utility stump. Once settled in, it is a nice space for our 40 footer. It is a nice, quiet park with an indoor pool, and a few activities available for those interested. The Pioneer Living History Museum is right next door and an interesting way to spend a day. This park isn't sold out like most of the other RV parks in the Phoenix area during winter months, which is why we are here. They have cable television for a fee, and wireless internet for a reasonable fee. Plus, there is a cell tower on a nearby mountain and we get the best reception we have ever had on our broadband wireless air card in our laptop. It is 10 miles north of the Loop 101 and just 1 mile north of the Carefree Highway, with so it is close to the spring training games in Peoria, or the many sights in Scottsdale. A very nice, quiet little retreat from the big city. The office staff was courteous and very helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pioneer RV Park is 3 miles from Super Walmart and Outlet Shopping but has the isolated desert atmosphere. Close to US17 but not noisy. Hot air balloons launch several times a week from the desert right next to park. Forty pull thrus but mostly a seasonal adult community. Monthly reservation age minimum is 42. Indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Many activities and very clean, friendly and quiet. A hidden treasure if you love the desert. Twenty minutes to Phoenix attractions. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice park but the sites are small and hard to back in to. Unorganized staff but friendly. Security gate. Received Passport-America rate for 2 nights, but it's not good on weekends. On-site propane delivery and trash pickup. Would definitely stay here again. Concrete patio. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Friendly staff welcome guests to Royal Palm, a well-tended 495 space 'age-qualified' park, about 100 of which are RV sites up front. The community is gated, so arrival before the 3pm office closing is recommended. A lone, if lovely, 50 foot tall 50 year old palm marks each spacious (if boring) site. Each includes a 7'x25' concrete patio floating upon a sea of neatly raked gravel. A individual mailbox with your site number stenciled on the lid will be filled by an actual U S Postal carrier each day, if you plan ahead. Trash is picked up twice weekly from below your mailbox; this is a problem unless you travel with an actual garbage can of adequate size. Recycling bins are available but there is no dumpster to be found. Restrooms are available (and clean!) in the clubhouse; showers are strictly door-less/open air adjacent to the pool. The pool is lovely, huge, and heated to a delightful 88 degrees. So is the spa. There is a large game room, card room, and exchange library, too. A clean, bright, laundry with multiple machines is in an adjacent building. Unfortunately, all these facilities are a multi-block walk from the RV area, so self-containment is a must. $32 nightly or $459 monthly. Wifi extra--itengo--and pricey. Fortunately, both Del Taco and McDonalds (one mile south at 19th Ave and Northern) offer free Wi-Fi. Would we stay again? YES--we left our trailer in the storage area ($42 monthly) and will be back in three weeks. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a large Mobile Home Park (55 plus community) located at W Dunlap Ave. about a mile east of I-17. RV sites are located in a corner of the park right along Dunlap Ave. but divided with a fence but a lot of road noise. The dog walk area is all gravel so on hot days it could be a problem. They have a 2 pet limit. It is cheap enough and served out needs as we were visiting some relatives in the area. The sites have a concrete patio slab but 40' is the max length. The swimming pool/spa is centrally located in the park so it is a good ways from the RV Sites. The staff was very friendly and if you need a cheap place and live out of your RV, it is fine. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is mainly a permanent resident park located next to the Turf Paradise Horse Park but they do use empty slots for short term visitors. We spent two weeks here and enjoyed our visit. The pool was heated part of the time and then the heater broke. The guy that would fix it was in the hospital for surgery over Christmas so I can't complain too much about it. The hot tub was wonderful though and we used it a lot. The residents were very friendly and we even had one that brought presents to all the kids in the park including ours for Christmas. This was a very economical place to stay for winter time in Phoenix, especially finding a place that allows kids. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
