We stayed there for 4 days. It was a very nice experience. My only complaint is that the tent pads were very hard to drive stakes into, but other than that it was great. It is quiet, well maintained and well patrolled. The showers are old but clean. We have and access pass so the usual $14 rate was only $7 for us, but even at $14 it is worth it. We camped here in a Tent.

This is a US Army Corp of Engineers park, NOT to be be mistaken with DeGray Lake State Park. We stayed during the off season and were the only RV in the middle loop. This park is beautiful and peaceful for a camping stay in the off season. We never even saw a ranger to register us until the second night we were there. The three camping loops are all on descending paved roads. Most of the sites appear more level than they really are. They all drop down in the back. We were on site #35 which was a leveled concrete pad and still required two boards under the back tires. The turning loops at the end of the roads are hairpin and it was a struggle to get a 38' motorhome around. The sites are all wooded but since the leaves were not yet on the trees we were able to have nice views of the lake and satellite TV reception. We enjoyed the hiking trail with our dogs. The women's bathroom was clean and heated but there was no hot water. The men's bathroom was in disrepair. The location was beautiful and peaceful. Some of the sites are reservable, but most are not, so you would really be taking a big chance to show up in the summer with a larger RV. While some of the reservable sites give lengths that would appear to handle Big Rigs, I wouldn't try it in anything over 40 feet, and at that you would need to disconnect anything you were towing to maneuver. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our second year here for a family camping weekend. We were in DeRoche campground which has a lot of water sites which were great for the grandkids. We had 5 sites on the water and they had a ball. The sites are not too level but offer big concrete tables, grills, fire pits (which we couldn't use due to a burn ban in effect) and small pedestal concrete tables next to the grills which was handy. Most sites were shaded at least part of the day which was nice in the extreme heat. The park provides trash pickup at your individual site trash can every day. The down side to this campground is that the sites are close together with no landscape separation and some of the local campers don't understand the 10mph rule on the campground road. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The pad sites are very unlevel but can be worked around. The park has very few water or water view sites available. We unhooked and drove around and found better sites available but when we went to ask to be swapped we were told no. If you like to be in the woods and not see the lake then this is the place for you. The bath houses are fantastic and clean. As for fishing if you are boatless, there are several areas to bank fish from if you are able to walk on rocks. Otherwise there is no fishing pier or other structure to use from shore. If you like golf then by all means this is your happy spot. I was told if I wanted one of the primo spots that I would have to book at least 6 to 12 months in advance otherwise it is in the woods for you. I will come back but, I am better prepared because I wrote down the best sites for my next stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

For the price, this campground was fine. We did not have the best campsite as the ground sloped sharply away from the motorhome, making getting in and out a challenge. It is a pretty resort, just our particular camping spot was not all that great. There are sites capable of handling big rigs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
