This is meant as a warning to RVers with nice coaches. I live in the area and would NEVER take my coach in this campground. There are very deep chuck holes that would tear up a nice coach. But it is a good campground for people that don't care about their machines - if you know what I mean. We camped here in a Tent.

Very nice campground with beautiful trails in the redwoods. Upon checking in, we had difficulty getting our unit into the space. We asked staff for help and were promptly moved to a larger, pull through site. All staff that we encountered were extremely helpful and friendly. We even got great advice for some day trips. It was great to see the ice cream social and pancake breakfast still being offered. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was an unexpected stop on the road for us but we were so happy that we did!!! The tent sites were extremely private and all of the facilities were in excellent shape! I will definitely go back to this campground! We camped here in a Tent.

While Crescent City was a very mediocre place, this campground was wonderful. Very nice staff. Good store. Had some goats and chickens that were fun to watch. Wooded sites. Wonderful forest trails to walk on. Good cable TV and WiFi. Just a great place. The views in the area are gorgeous and the redwoods are worth seeing. Would definitely return. We camped here for a family re-union. It would not have been our choice if we were organizing the re-union. Staff was not unfriendly or friendly! Sites were close together, which in our case was okay because our neighbors were family members. There was a large muddy area right where we stepped out of our rig. Guess I would say in our experience, this was a typical KOA. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very busy KOA. The sites are dirt/gravel. The interior sites under the Redwoods are amazing! This is a great gateway for touring the Redwoods. The staff were friendly. They are very busy and generally fill up from June to August so book early. We loved HWY 299 coming in and we took HWY 199 going out. Amazing scenery and great trip! We did enjoy the all you can eat pancakes for 3.00 per person. They offer ice cream for 1.00 a scoop. The campground was quite. We enjoyed a fire nightly and overall a great place. The campground is slightly outside of Crescent City, and you can hear some road noise. Be prepared the temp is way less there. The average temp is 54 summer and winter. You have to see it to believe it! We would absolutely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground has spectacular landscapes nestled between giant redwoods. Spaces are fairly level and most have small trees and brush between them for better privacy. The sites have newer utilities including 50amp service and the grounds are constantly being groomed. The office is not very well stocked and severely lacks the basic necessities, which is the reason for not receiving a 10 in this reviewer eyes. Restrooms and showers are very well maintained; some of the best we’ve seen and the laundry is clean and well maintained although in busier times of the year the laundry room may be small. The quaint cabins are beautiful and add to the campground magnetism although they are basically a single room with no bathroom. Evening strolls were perfect even though the stormy weather didn’t play well. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Let me begin with the part of this place that makes it spectacular and worth driving to just for this. It's not the RV sites with hook ups. They're just OK. Nothing to complain about, but not great either. It's the part of the park that is a grove of giant redwoods. That's the kamping and kabin part. It is the most wonderful place for taking a walk. Almost as wonderful as the nearby Howland Hill Rd (a 10 mile drive) which is an experience every nature lover should have. So, you won't complain much about the RV part of the park, but the rest: top notch! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is conveniently located right off Highway 101. It is easy to get into Crescent City from this KOA or go to points north on Highways 101 or 199. The office, restrooms, and showers have been decently maintained. The sites have newer utilities, but are poorly laid out and are very close together. The camper cabins and tent sites get the opposite treatment: they were beautifully located in the midst of a great grove of giant redwoods. There is a nice fenced-in pet area and a playground with equipment. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It is a vVery nice and clean campground, great for kids. The Redwood forest surrounds this campgrounds so it is nice to go for walk around it. The kids had a blast on tricycles. The sites are gravel pretty close to each other. The staff pretty friendly and showers and restrooms were very clean!!! There is a great playground for kids! We camped here in a Motorhome.

The staff was very nice and friendly. Gave us printed information with directions for things to see in the area. I thought that was very nice. The sites were kind of close but we did not have any problems. We stayed here for 5 days and in a 38' fifth wheel. They had live music, movie night and a pancake breakfast. We enjoyed staying here. The cabins are located in a beautiful, forested area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Not a fancy park but certainly adequate. Wifi was good and satellite worked. Roads are gravel and slightly dusty. Will stay again if we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice Park. We were up front in space A9 would have rather not have been on the corner. Very nice playground, just needs some seating. awesome dog park. had a wonderful time. We had a site in the back of the park under the Redwood trees and it was just spectacular! We had the most enjoyable evenings cooking at camp, sitting near the bonfire and enjoying the forest setting. We traveled from NM to Oregon and back home, and of the many nights out and the many RV parks, this was my favorite of the whole trip. Beautiful and well kept. Helpful staff and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone who likes the peace and quiet of camping. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Small gravel/dirt park. Cater's to tents with nice sites tucked away under tall redwoods. RV sites are mostly out in the open, sat. reception was good. Free wifi was unusable, even after moving to a new site to get better signal. Had to go to rec room to get any work done. Park is very tight, sites are large enough but the drives getting in and out are tight and not clearly marked. Great location for exploring the northern redwoods, Cresent City has all services (small Walmart). Good food at the Chart Room on the south beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground was a great place to stay. Even though we couldn't stay in one of the sites out back in the Redwoods, we really enjoyed our bike ride through them. What a great place to spend some time! The facilities were clean and well kept. The only reason we aren't rating this as a 10 is because it isn't the easiest to find. There aren't any signs around the area pointing you where to go. The GPS didn't list the campground either. We got lucky and found it almost by accident. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park - would be fun for a family with small children in the summer. Even in the drizzle, the walk through the redwoods was nice. 50 amps available. Roads were kind of tight. We camped here in a Motorhome.

An older campground with good basic services. Desireable campsites in the redwoods are for smaller RVs. We camped in a 40' motorhome out in the open area. The trees are stunning but it was much warmer and brighter out in the sun. We got a 30amp hook-up and didn't ask if they had 50amp. Average water pressure. Lots of channels on the cable. Excellent Wi-Fi that probably works better in the open than in the woods. Sites are a little close together but very level. Some tight turns getting into the site. Everything in good order. Quiet. Convenient to Redwood N.P. headquarters but a long way from the tallest groves. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is beautiful - tucked in the redwoods with lots of blackberries. The loops the cabins and tent sites are on are nice places to walk, since they meander through the redwoods. Five miles to Crescent City and five mile to many different ocean beaches. The park was fairly quiet when we were there, since it was the beginning of the off season. Sites were gravel, fairly level (one leveling block) and most were fairly wide. Some have shade, some don't, so if you have a preference, make it known. Bathrooms were nice and clean, staff friendly. It's right on 101, but not too noisy. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If you have a smaller rig - book a site in the trees! Even though they only had electrical/water hookups it was completely worth it for the location. We left a little early, and in hindsight we should have stayed. The staff was friendly, there were lots of kids, and there is lots to do. The bathrooms were recently remodeled and they're well-cleaned daily. WiFi worked great as long as you were in range of the antenna. Unfortunately it wasn't available in the trees, but it didn't matter. We'd absolutely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground is not spectacular although the walk through the tent area is nice. Redwoods that form a tight canopy that blocks out the sky. Not a bad stopover although the RV sites could use a little better maintenance. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a tough one to rate. If you have a smaller RV you can get some beautiful sites tucked right into the redwoods. The free wi-fi works, the staff is friendly, and everything else lines up just right. In that case you might rate this a 10. If you have a larger RV, like our 40' coach, there are sites in the grassy area in the middle. They're not bad sites but they don't have the appeal of the in-the-trees sites. In that case it's more like the typical KOA, and gets a rating of 7. The new owners are doing a lot to the place and it's really looking nice. It's the best I've found in the area and is a great location for touring the northern California redwoods. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the first year that this KOA is open all year. We were the only Class A in the place. There was one Class C and a couple of Fifth Wheels. It is a beautiful location. New owners are going to "reclaim" some of the sites in the Redwoods that have been overgrown by berry vines and weeds. I was told that all of the driveways and RV sites will be regraveled this winter. Fall and winter are a good time to visit. We were told it is usually full from July through September. It is a beautiful location and worth visiting. WiFi was free. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Being able to camp not only near the Redwoods National and State Parks, but to be surrounded by these trees at your home campsite is the best! The new owners are friendly and enthusiastic about the upgrades they have in the works and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This KOA is close to the redwood parks, but be sure you get a spot IN THE BACK in the woods. Other spots are out in the hot sun with no shade. Once you are back in the woods, there is good privacy and shade. Also, they have a "pet farm" up front with goats, roosters, etc. They SERIOUSLY need to make a meal out of that rooster. It crowed too lound, too long, too often and too much. It was horrible because it would crow ALL DAY. Their bath/showers were pretty clean and working. Hardly any hwy noise in back of camp. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Nice campground with friendly staff; Sites are adequate and easy to get into thanks to personal service from staff helping you get in. Petting zoo was enjoyed by my grandson though the playground was weak. I would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice for tents and camping cabins (we stayed in a cabin), but average for RVs. The RV sites are pretty much without shade and the tent/cabin sites are RIGHT IN the redwoods. It is wonderful! There were big trees and ferns right outside our cabin window and door. The RV sites are only 20 yards from the trees. It is quiet and relaxing. There is no pool. The bathrooms were clean and the staff friendly. The playground was very mediocre, but my kids liked the sheep and goat (i.e. petting zoo without the petting) on the premises. We stayed here three days and loved it! We will stay here again. We camped here in a Campground Cabins.

Location of park is ideal for visiting the Redwoods in this part of Northern California. Close to Ranger station and access to many trails through the magnificent Redwoods. However the park is somewhat run down. (A recurrent RV'er stated that the park used to be pristine). Rest room facilities are adequate. Grounds need lots of attention. Sites are gravel. We were at the park periphery and WiFi did not work for us but worked elsewhere. Would probably return because of terrific access to Redwoods. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

In this area, it's hard to find an RV park with full hookups that isn't right off the highway. This park goes farther back than most and road noise was barely noticeable. Friendly staff, pretty park, very clean restrooms (showers 25 cents for 5 minutes), plenty of room, level spots, WiFi and cable TV worked great. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Okay park. I wouldn't call it a "Resort", but it worked for our stay. Not a lot of shade, and if it was full, it would have been cramped. Strange layout with pull-through sites running front to back in a line to form rows. Nice staff, and the Wi-Fi worked good. Full hookup worked fine. For the price, it was acceptable. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Laundry room is a little old but well kept. Location is the best for seeing the Redwoods. This is the quietest park!! No noise at night. Grass was dried out but it is September. Convenience store within walking distance. Gravel, level sites that are parallel to the road. We were able to get AT&T reception at our site as well as their free internet. Would recommend this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park. Pretty drive off the 101. Easy check in, gave us a site and said if like another close by, take it. Nice. Wi-Fi was good and then gone just like that. Not good for an RON. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here three years ago: liked it then, like it now. Parallel pull through sites are great, with no problem getting in, or out with a 40 ft 5th wheel and long bed truck. Everything worked as stated above. Landscaping is very nice and it was a very soothing stay. Very pet friendly also. A relaxing pool or hot tub would have made it a 10. The setting is very serene being next to the Jedediah State Park with its tall Redwoods. Food at cafe across the street was very good. Personnel were very friendly and would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice big RV park with lots of room and well maintained. Only a couple of miles from a popular Redwood Forest trail and the ocean. We checked out a couple of other RV parks nearby and they didn't look very nice or family friendly: meaning there were some shady people wandering around the area, or were tired looking RV's packed in tight. I saw alot of homeless (?) people wandering around Crescent City. This was not the case at all here. Free Wi-Fi and laundry was open 24/7. I would recommend this to others. The only thing is if it's crowded you might get stuck in their parallel sites, but they have alot of sites so it probably won't be a problem. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here overnight, unusual parking in that we were parked in line, but had plenty of room to manuever. Located very close to Redwood National Park and state parks. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Just like the prior reviews say: great RV Park. A few things to add: tokens are required for the showers (25 cents for 5 mins), purchase at the Office or from the Campground Host. There is a gas station and store right outside the Park entrance which is easier than driving to town. Nice (Rowdy Creek) Fish Hatchery to visit in the town of Smith River, open year-round. Jedediah Smith State Park has river access for an $8 Day-use fee, and to camp there now has increased to $35 a day, a bit pricey. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice RV park with great access to the Redwood forests. Pull throughs are easy to access and give good privacy. This time of the year we only had 5 other RVs in the short term area. Their padded picnic table access was right next to the site and it was very quiet. Their cable TV access was very good and so was my satellite TV. We would definitely stay here again and only be 10 minutes from Crescent City and 5 minutes from Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park and surrounding area was beautiful with all the Fall colors. Parking is a bit unusual as they are parallel pull-throughs. Not many other guests when we were here so parking wasn't a problem, but might be if your spot was between 2 occupied spots. An ideal place from which to tour the Redwood forests. The staff was friendly and courteous. We would return if ever back in that area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Friendly, easy check-in. It's right in the middle of a Redwood Park just as advertised. We had site B9 so our front door faced an open area in the middle: the morning sun, the road and gorgeous tree-covered hills. A wonderful setting with a peaceful view. Internet connection is not high speed. It's good enough to do e-mail and web surfing, but not good enough for Netflix downloads to watch movies. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

For a large rig, this campground is a great alternative to the state park campground across the road for seeing the Redwoods. Sites are large, clean and level and it was easy to pull in. Full hookup, reliable Wi-Fi, cable, and a outside phone jack. Grounds are well kept and bathrooms are clean. The receptionist that checked us in was extremely friendly and provided helpful local info. The only negatives were that there was little to no shade at our site and that there was no pool or playground for kids. Overall, you get more than your money's worth here - a good bet. Rate reflects CampClubUSA rate. Stayed overnight. Agree with other posters about pull-thrus.They might be harder to get into when the park is full. Since there were some vacancies, we were able to pull thru the spot prior to ours, so it made it very easy. Like that you look out on trees/grass rather than into someone else's RV. They allowed us to wash the OR road & rain grime off, so that was a pleasant surprise. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very clean overall. Did not try to use the WiFi. The redwoods are fantastic, however we did not get a chance to stay and explore. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I liked this camp ground because it has beautiful trees surrounding the park; it is across the street from a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch only. Not great, but gives you an alternative for meals - and a gas station convenience store at the entrance.Yet is it virtually in the middle of the Jedediah Smith redwoods, as beautiful and thick a forest as you can find anywhere. It seems most of the people staying there came for the steelhead and salmon fishing in the Smith River very nearby; 20 to 70 lbs per fish they told me. A very friendly staff; who even let me wash my coach which is rarely permitted in other parks. I will return. I did not give it a 10 because of the sewer connections which are set about 10 inches above grade which is not the best for gravity flow - although I had no problems. For the odd parking, more like parallel parking although I had an front row spot I just pulled in and pulled out. The shower facilities are a bit dated, though clean and you need to purchase tokens - 25 cents each for each 5 minutes of shower time you want. Oh yes the internet WiFi was very poor; worked sometimes and sometimes did not; and was slow when it did. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stopped for one night, and the park is OK. We had a 38' fifth wheel which was easy to drive into their pull throughs, however it might be difficult in peak season as pull throughs are parallel to road and could be quite tight. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were here on a very low attendance time so getting in and out of a drive thru spot is easy. This is not your typical drive thru it is more like parallel parking type drive thru so if you have the spot in front and or back filled you will have a hard time parking. The permanent residences are very low percentage and they are neat and tidy spots. This spot is perfect for your group camping since you are able to share large grassy areas if you pull side by side. Sites are gravel & level, but you have an adequate patio with a table. No fire pits. And the utilities are in the right spot. Lots of trees and centrally located for nearby sites. Though it is right off the 101 it is a very quiet place to stay. We would come here again for a 3-4 day lay over. Staff is very nice. And again the internet free wifi is available but not reliable. They too say they are working on upgrading. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were pleasantly surprised! It is off the beaten 101 path, but easy to get in/out from highway 199. There were relaxed off-season rates The staff is friendly. It was uncrowded, level, and comfortable. There was strong satellite TV, but cell phone/air-card reception was a bit slow. Numerous close-by trails to soak up magnificent old redwood groves and the Smith River. We would revisit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As others have said the pull-thru sites @ this park are unique. They give each unit lots of space as well as common space. The management are very friendly and helpful. Laundry facilities were clean and they have lots of both washers and dryers. The only problem is their sewer hookups. They are above ground and difficult to use. Previous reviews indicated this so I simply used the dump site on the way out. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has just changed its name to Hiouchi RV Resort. It is an older but very well-maintained park. Most of the sites are pull through but in a unique way. The pull through set-up allows everyone to open doors onto a green belt area. It would be great for clubs or rallys. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There is a lot to do in the area and the front desk staff gave us the "locals" scoop on what to see. There are quite a few long term people but we found everyone to be very nice. We will certainly stay here again in the future. Great park at a very good price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in the park for 6 days. It would be rated a 10 except for the restrooms and showers. The showers were not clean, and had dirt and mold. It is still perhaps one of the nicest parks in the area and is about a 20 minute drive to crescent city. The redwood trais are very close, with state park across street. The staff is very friendly, we would stay here next time in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice friendly staff and very accommodating. Very quiet and met several nice people camping. Fenced dog play area needs improvement, but adequate. WiFi worked well most of the time. They have lots of cable channels available. We stayed one night but would have liked to have stayed one more. It's far enough off the highway where you don't hear any noise. We would definitely stay here again amongst the redwoods. Sites fairly level--some have tables and fire rings, but ours just had a cement slab, which is ok for a one-night stay. Friendly on check-in with maps of the local area. Wi-Fi is free and quite good. There is a charge for the showers. An older park that has a different layout with the pull-through sites parallel to the roads. Not that easy to get into these sites when the park is full. Nice concrete pads overlooking the large center field that includes a basketball court. As mentioned in previous reviews this park is about 9 miles outside of Crescent City away from the ever to common coastal fog and wind. Beautiful Redwood trees are on the drive to the beach and not far south on Hwy. 101 are the "Trees of Mystery" which is a must see. Found it quiet as we were not near the highway. This RV park is probably the best one in the area as the ones in Crescent City for the most part looked pretty bad. The only issue that we had was lots of dogs not on a leash as supposedly required and people not picking up their messes. Looks as if there were a lot of semi-permanent people staying here with a few very dirty units having a bit more old cars and stuff(?) at their site than the rules would have you believe. The sewer connections are not designed by an RV'er as they are about 6 to 8 inches above ground. Go figure. A bit of advice. I would not recommend going to the local Crescent City Safeway Mall after dark. Lots of teens and older hang out there and could get a bit scary. All that said, we would probably not stay in this area again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an older park with paved roads and paved picnic table area but most sites are gravel. Pullouts cannot be used near the hookups but fortunately the back-in sites are very deep so a motor home or trailer can be positioned so as to extend the pullouts. The surrounding area is very nice and the extra long sites make the roads seem very wide. The drive from Crescent City is through an incredible stand of large Redwoods. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very large and spacious sites. Sites are gravel with a small concrete pad for picnic table. Road inside park are asphalt. Older park with fair facilities. Site was a bit unlevel and noticed several around us were having problems getting level. Free WiFi was spotty and I had to have them reboot to get working. Have to be in close to office to get signal. No pool or spa. Staff friendly and helpful. Lots to see in this part of the country. This park is located outside of Crescent City by 9 miles, making it warmer and less wind and fog than Crescent City. I think this park is the nicest in the area. Eat breakfast and/or lunch at The New Harvest Cafe in Crescent City. Hwy 101 & Northcrest We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Large, friendly rv park. What is very nice about it is the huge open park in the center, and the trailers hookup around the perimeter. Both back in and pull thru sites are available. There were many campers who were staying thru the summer here. We camped in late July and the sun shone everyday with clear blue skys. This park is down the road from Jedadiah Redwood State Park. I would rate this park as a destinationn park, with side trips to Oregon or the redwoods. When we left, we drove down Hwy 199 up to Grants Pass, Oregon, a beautiful drive. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park. Seems to cater to an older crowd, maybe because of location and low rates and is now owned by a large casino. Park is actually located 9 miles east of Crescent City on highway 199. All paved streets in park. Large laundry room. Modem area could be more user friendly as you have to sit on a chair with laptop on your lap, they have table there but it is used for their fax machine, phone, and other stuff. Friendly check-in staff. Can handle any size rig. No "instant" phone hookup. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park, lots of grass, priced right. 82 pull-thrus, tables, laundry, small concrete patios built more for 5th Wheels than motorhomes, set-up on gravel but has paved roads. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great location if you love dense forest and lots of space between you and your neighbor. My kids loved it. The river is a close walk from the campground. If was flowing pretty slowly when we went at the end of July so all the kids played in the water for hours. Not easy to drive around park. I am about 51 feet total with travel trailer. Had to go slow but made it. Camp host suggested I come in the opposite way shown on the map to get into my site (#8). Would not have been able to back in driving the way the arrows showed on the map. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The price was $27.50 with the reservation fee. The redwoods are tall and the sites are pretty, with picnic tables and fire pits at each. We preferred Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park to this one because there you get hot water in the restrooms, the visitors center is larger, and there are elk nearby, but Jed Smith was quite pretty, too. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful setting along with rustic camping, although some folks managed to get some fairly large RVs through the trees and cars along the narrow interior roads. We were glad to be towing a small rented travel trailer instead of our 35' 5th wheel. This park was built by the National Parks Service, so it has the typical narrow roads, small campsites, and no RV facilities other than a dump station at the exit. Our site was perfectly level and very private, even though the Visitors Center was next to it. The sites along the Smith River are the best in the park, and probably hard to get. The restrooms and showers were typical NPS style, and were in need of some refurbishing, although they were fairly clean. It was quite cool in the morning, and I was surprised to find that the heat was on in the restrooms. We would like to return to this park in the shoulder seasons and spend a few days exploring the trails through the redwoods and along the river. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Absolutely beautiful. Reservations are essential any day of the week. Not sure why others indicated that it's ok for big rigs. Campground road is narrow and windy and parking in many of the sites is tight. There is a fee for the shower. Water is available at the dump station although there are unthreaded faucets scattered throughout the campground. Very quiet. Sites are cozy and private. Most sites will require leveling equipment. Our Verizon cell service didn't work, not sure about other carriers. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Of every campground we have ever camped in, this one was our hands down favorite. Heavily wooded and shaded, very private, the real deal. Lots of huge trees surrounding all the campsites. We camped in a 40' RV, and we were towing. It was tight, but doable. No cell phone coverage. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is one of the most beautiful campgrounds I have ever been to. It is set among the redwoods - we had some huge trees in our campsite. There are waterfront sites along the Smith River - most of them look pretty small - if our trailer would have fit they are definitely the best sites. There are trails that go throughout the entire camp which are nice, but no dogs are allowed on them. There is a large group tent site that looks awesome. The showers were not open when we were there. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Gorgeous campground in the heart of old growth redwoods. What a treat! We were able to get our 30ft class A plus bike rack through the campground. The sites were large and obviously shady. The fire pit was elevated and quite large. The campground host was very friendly and helped us to back into our site. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area. Note the showers were closed and the sign stated they were unlikely to open. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are gravel and fairly level with easy pull-through lanes. Reasonable access from # 101, but as another reviewer stated: " this park has seen better days". Overall, not a bad park for an overnight stay in Crescent City. Only beef: they locked the restrooms at 7pm and did not unlock them until 8am. We were gone by that time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park seems like it has seen better days. It is kind of run down. We stayed here in January (rainy weather). The sites are grassy and kind of soggy. We did enjoy being close to the beach. We stayed one night here on our way south which was okay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This city campground is right next to the beach! You hear the roar of the waves and can see the lighthouse. You also feel all the wind. Sites are sand, soil and grass. Given the rain when we were there, the sites were soft. Good host drove us to the best, most level site. No shrubs or trees in most of park. Convenient to nearby attractions. Can walk to National Park center from here. Only a few long timers in park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This city owned RV Park is a huge, treeless, grass field. It is also the best RV Park in town and closest to downtown. Sites are level and spacious. Bathrooms are old and a little run down. There are no other aminities. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I agree with the other posts: not state of the art, but far superior to the other parks in Crescent City, especially with pets. (The others really are just cramped parking lots). Spent 4 nights here staring at the ocean out the front of the coach. The owners are wonderful, even gave us a crab they had caught. Another bonus: we had some mechanical trouble, and there was a mechanic across the street who overnighted the part we needed and didn't gouge us on the price, (and he totally could have). Management even gave us our spot back and took a bit off the fee just to be nice. We will definitely stay again because of this. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Management is very friendly and accommodating. That was the primary reason I have stayed at this park for weeks. There is a beautiful view of the landmark, the Battery Point Lighthouse right from your RV. It is right on the beach so you can walk the beach, check out the friendly squirrels (which will eat from your hand) and you can walk to the local harbor. It is also walking distance to some shopping and restaurants. I've had no problems at all here. It has been pleasant and quite. It is an older park so not as updated in the showers and bathrooms but I enjoy it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The rate noted is based on a monthly rate. The facilities are adequate and the view of the harbor, and it's wildlife, is spectacular! We would rate it higher if it were more secure. The campground is not fenced and is adjacent to public areas which are frequented by vagrants. During our stay, one of our bicycles was stolen during the night because it was not locked up. This is our first incident of campground theft, since we became RVers nine years ago. If visiting this campground, be sure to lock up everything of value! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Not the prettiest of parks, but relative to the rest of the parks in Crescent City which are nothing more than parking lots, this was a gem due to the view. We stayed here 3 days and had a front row spot looking at the ocean and the beach. The site was a pull-thru and level. There are a lot of permanent campers, but they were inconsequential to our stay and did not provide a problem of any kind. The managers are characters in their own right and were a delight. Bear in mind - staff will come after you if you don't obey the 5 mph speed limit. But a glass of wine will make him smile. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our friends were camped here two weeks enjoying the beachfront view and ocean sounds. We visited them regularly. The sites were pretty dirty, no slabs. The ocean access such a plus though. The sounds of birds and waves certainly take your mind off the RV sites. I would prefer a little cleaner site and park for any long term staying. I found the park friendly when visiting. Great location right on the ocean. Can hear the waves. Large, grassy sites, but no buffers between rigs. Mostly pull-thrus. Extremely nice/friendly hosts. They let us have a late check-out so we could sight see before heading down the road. Our rate was the cost without cable (I think cable is $4 more). We would stay here again. Best kept secret in Crescent City. A nice quiet RV Park. Old park, but don't let that scare you away. The spots are not very level as they are grass and sand, however we had no problem leveling out. The owner was very nice and helpful. Power and water pressure were great, no problems here. He said that he is going to try and redo some of the park: should be nice when completed. They do not really advertise, so internet is about the only way to find them. Not too many people in the park, but the best view of all parks here. I think this was the only one with a waterfront view. (We saw other parks that were on the coast side in paved parking lots, but there was a walk to the water and buildings in front of you). We will be staying here again soon. The only issue we had was tracking all of the sand from the campground into the coach. Had to vacuum each day. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites were uneven and too narrow to pull into. Even though we asked for a pull through. The site we asked for is for an ocean view. When we arrived at the office the site that the operators gave us, another RV was in that site. We had to go back and told them that another space. The only problem we had that the place needs alot of cleaning up. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park was overwhelmed during July holiday. Our and many sites were not level after observing other rigs' blocks. Bathrooms were plugged by massive use. We were told the city allowed the crowding. All in all we liked the place. Also, cable was fuzzy as the cable company did not correct lines that were old. Caretaker told us they would be putting in new lines and dish service. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The city has taken over the park and does not know anything about running an RV Park. I have stayed at the poorly maintained park because I can park right on the bay. Well today the city decided to redo the park's roads. And they decided to turn off the electricity during the day. And it will be off most of the week. About the only reason I rent a space is for electricity. There have not been any real improvements since the city took over. So rather than staying a week I left and looked for a park with electricity. I will not return. Too bad - the view is just great. It is on a great piece of property. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very scenic, very quiet campground. It is city owned and operated. It is within walking distance of downtown businesses, several restaurants near the docks, the city pool, and the Cultural Center (which hosts many community events). We had no problems with hookups or services within the park. Be aware that the restroom/shower facilities may be locked after 7 or 8 pm! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this campground our very first night in our truck camper. The host was very friendly and helpful. We had a site on the ocean (B1) and had a view for dinner. It was quiet except for the fog horn that went off every 5 minutes and that is one of the reasons why I would not rate it higher. Otherwise, very clean showers and washrooms. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

See my April 2004 review. Not much has changed. Some money was spent - but mostly cosmetic - paint - the sea wall was graded - the rip-rap is no longer exposed - the long term residents were removed - but the infrastructure was not improved. Still only 30 amp. I was on pad B11 and the sewer connection was higher that my sewer outlet - and effluent does not run up hill. But it still a very beautiful place. There is always hope. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is an older facility, but has great harbor water front camp sites. We stay there several times each year and have never needed reservations. The management is friendly and helpful. Restaurants and Safeway are within easy walking. One can stroll along the sandy beach and harbor piers or walk in an adjacent city park and hike to the harbor breakwater. Quaint and quite scenic. Very quiet at night with the foghorns sounding softly. Waterfront campers can watch fishing boats come and go from their RV. Lots of green grassy sites around with a few scattered pine trees that the tenters like to cluster around. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you want Ocean front this park is hard to beat for the view. But it is pretty rough. According to the manager they are about to spend $200K to upgrade. I have stayed here a number of times. Big, open field. Right on the water. Can be foggy or windy, but it is nice this week. Easy walk to the Safeway and beach front. A city owned park. $25 for first row but $16 for most spots. Weekly and monthly rates available. Local flavor. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stay here every time we go to Crescent City as it is the nicest park in the area. Clean restrooms and quiet park. Friendly staff. Walking distance to ocean and restaurants. Also has Wi-Fi which is a plus in my book. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Other then inadequate Wi-Fi which did work during the first day, then hardly worked after that, and the office staff being almost non existent, this isn't a bad park. Walking distance to town. We enjoy walking. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I love this town. This park was hard to find with Garmin, but I was able to find it with a turn around. The park manager was very nice and allowed us to pick the spot we wanted. Young family across the way, cut through our site all the time, and talked loud through the night because they smoked outside. Park is close to everything. When we came back from dinner, someone had made off with the picnic table from our site. No big deal, just made me feel uneasy. Laundry room was messy and not all of the machines were working. But for the price, it was good for a night or two. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Glad I didn't see this before it was "improved". Still somewhat run-down, with rusty doors and mold in the spartan bathroom, which wasn't clean. Sewer outlet sits on a concrete base above ground = strange gravity. Sites are on gravel with no shade during an unusual heat wave, but there is a grass island. This was a good stop under Passport America for $13 but is not valid during the summer, which starts early in May. Nice kid mgr.in the office ,though more interested in his games than park problems.There are nicer places to stay but this is convenient to town and okay with a discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice and clean park with younger, friendly staff. It has large sites for easy access if you have a big rig. The bathrooms were very clean, and it is an easy walk to the beach and local restaurants. We camped here in a Motorhome.

New owners and new management have really made changes. Park was much cleaner this time, laundry room was remodeled, landscaping looks nice, and clean restrooms. No WiFi, but manager said it will be put in the near future. Will definitely stay again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Basic park with some long-term residents. Young managers were very friendly and helpful. Close to harbor, and perfectly fine for our needs except no wi-fi, so we moved to another park in town for an additional week. Rate structure a bit strange with wide variation in club membership discounts not typically seen! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground has good clean sites with well maintained grounds and hookups. It borders two busy streets and has more traffic noise than we like. The management is pretty uptight and we were in doubt whether we were really welcome. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not easy to find its really tucked back in but other than that it was ok. Close to the ocean and pier's. I don't remember seeing the management we were there after hours but they had a very nice and easy to understand directions so you could just sign yourself in, left before hours the next day. The setting is beautiful. It is in a forest of huge Redwoods. Check in was fast and friendly. She even provided maps and info for local attractions. The bathrooms and showers were clean and heated and there was a nice clean laundry area. The cable TV and Wi-Fi worked well. Our site was all dirt but level and freshly raked when we arrived. There are many sites that will accommodate big rigs. The utilities looked old but worked fine. Most sites are large and about 1/2 had good privacy. Ask for a site away from the road although even near the road noise is not bad. There is a nice play ground area for kids. They give a Good Sam discount. Ice and firewood is expensive. Their sign is difficult to read coming from north to south. It is after the bridge and before the KOA. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

While the value for a private campground is pretty good, there are areas that could be improved: Cancellation fee: You are charged full price if you decide you want to leave upon arriving - and you can't choose the space you want. Good spaces are quite limited. Management not willing to negotiate what they have chosen for you. Only 3 washing machines, 3 very slow driers for the entire campground. Store: Not sure how it got a store rating. Very few items sold. Noise: During the middle of the night we were startled by a loud siren going off. The thought first was a tsunami warning. There were many campers woken up and ready to head for higher ground. When I inquired with the staff the next day, I was told there is a voluntary fire department close by. The siren goes off any time of the day or night. Why was this information not passed on to us when we arrived! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Campground was GORGEOUS! We will definitely be making a reservation for another year. That being said, you MUST make reservations at least a year in advance or you probably won't get a spot, its that nice. Very shady and well covered with redwoods and large ferns. Most sites were pretty private but there are a few that are either too short or too close together. EXTREMELY quiet park, just the way we liked it, and the weather is fabulous. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This place was fantastic! Dense stands of redwood trees, but there are more "open" sites towards the center of the campground if that's more to your liking (Satellite perhaps?). Friendly, helpful staff although once we checked in, we found we didn't need anything. We arrived after the office closed for the day and found our check-in paperwork taped to the door. We had already been assigned a campsite and after evaluating what was still available (posted on a board next to the office), our site was perfect. The location is next to Hwy 101 and while it was plenty quiet, you can still hear the occasional passing vehicle. Next trip we will ask for a site further towards the east side of the campground. As another poster already mentioned, the siren scared us the first night. I didn't think tsunami warning (the site is a bit too inland for that), but I thought maybe a jailbreak siren (Pelican Bay State Prison is down the road). We laughed the next morning after we found out it was for the volunteer FD, but something posted on the office bulletin board or in the check-in literature would've been nice! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Loved this park. They way the sites were layout you had plenty of room and shade. Lots of nice grassy areas in the center. The park was very clean and very quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park with large, secluded lots and plenty of trees. Very pet and child friendly, but also quiet with some privacy. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean restrooms and showers with plenty of hot water. Wi-Fi worked well. Our only complaint was that the number of washers and dryers was too small for the number of people, and this created a logjam at the laundry room. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Can't say enough about what a great place this is to stay. The hosts are prior RV travelers and really know what we need. The spaces are nestled among redwood trees. You couldn't find a quieter place. It is only yards from a major highway, but you seldom hear even a hint of the traffic noise. If you are in the area, change your itinerary to include at least one night here. Once you are here you will want to stay another night to enjoy the peace and quiet. Don't miss it! Sites were very nice and large and level, located under large redwoods, with fire rings and tables. The park was closing some sites for the winter, but had lots of sites available. Very easy to park. Next to 101, but we hardly heard the traffic during the night. Close to redwood scenic drives and also close to ocean where we saw whales off shore. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent RV park just off Hwy 101. There was some road noise, but not too much. Staff was very helpful and kept the park very clean. Full hookups, with cable TV. For an RV park the sites were spacious and not too close together, sites are gravel and level. Washrooms were very clean and the amazing Redwoods are 10 minutes away with 1st class hiking and visitor center. Firewood was available at the park and also not far away. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We loved this place! The site is nestled between huge redwoods (no satellite reception, but it was an easy decision). Other nearby RV Parks are essentially parking lots. CG WiFi (free) is so slow, it's not worth the effort. Fair Air Card reception with Verizon and Sprint. Bathrooms and laundry are very clean. Staff helpful: recommended great things for us to see. Do NOT miss the 'car only' drive through nearby Jedediah Smith State Park. Magnificent! Don't forget the camera. Along 101, south of here, see the "Drive Through Tree," the herds of elk roaming in the meadows, Trees of Mystery. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a second time at this park. We booked 1 year ahead last year, and now we have booked for next year. Nice quiet, clean park in the redwoods with hookups. Grassy area for children to play or read a book in the sun. We love it here. 5 minute drive to remote beach and you can walk for miles and see on one. This park is awesome. Beautiful campground: full of redwood trees and lots of shade. Excellent: staff very helpful, clean restrooms and showers, nice play ground for children. Beach is short drive away. It's remote: you can walk for miles and miles with no one but you and the dogs. Beautiful area with nice campsites. We have already booked for next year we love it so much. We camped here for the long Labor Day weekend. We had a good time at this RV resort. The cable TV worked okay, about 14 channels but some were really fuzzy. Free Wi-Fi which was nice. We must have had one of the few sites that had no trees, although we were right by the playground which my boys enjoyed. Some sites really looked private and quiet backing into trees. It rained so the RV resort got pretty muddy as it is not paved. The sites were with gravel and pretty level, ours had a pretty good distance between our neighbor. The bathrooms and showers were clean. I had to use the laundry room because my boys got so muddy and there was only one working washing machine, only cost $1, same with the dryers (there were two) but it took a couple of times to dry my clothes completely. I think we would return here if in the area. We drove through some of the other RV resorts nearby like the KOA and Jedediah Smith and this RV resort is very comparable, if not better. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park's website is slick. The park is good, not great. The reviews seem over-hyped: could the park owners be padding the reviews? You will be camping in a fairly wooded park, kind of like dozens of others in Northern California, Oregon and Washington. There are no BIG TREES. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The best way to describe this park is that it’s like camping in a national forest but with full-hook-ups, cable, and Wi-Fi. The site we were given was next to a redwood stump that I measured at 14 foot in diameter. An added bonus was that northern California was experiencing a 100+ heat wave, during our stay, but it never got above 75 at our site. About 8 miles from Jedediah Smith Redwood Park, this place is a must if you’re a nature buff. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This a good place for stopping off to see the Redwood Forest and the surrounding area. The park is about 10 min from Jedediah Smith state park. We found Crescent City to look old,not too much there really. The staff were very friendly to us and we appreciate their efforts to keep the place nice. The trees were beautiful in the RV park as well as the whole area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you haven't actually stood beside a California Redwood, you will be overwhelmed by these incredible trees. The Redwoods RV Resort is nestled into a fantastic Redwood grove, just minutes from Redwood National Park and the spectacular Northern California Coast. We stayed here in our RV about 6 years ago, when it was named "Ramblin' Rose RV Resort" and just returned again. The resort is under new management, and it's obvious that they've spent a great deal of time and money on major renovations. The place is fantastic. Much nicer than our last time here. Everything is clean and new, including the Wi-Fi and cable TV. Sites are large, level and secluded, with lots of space, trees, and ferns between us and our neighbors. They have brand new 50-amp full-hook-up sites, with room for any size RV, (ours is 43' long, so that's important to us). The Redwoods tower overhead, making campsites really feel like part of the forest. There is also a large, open, grassy area in the middle of the resort, making for a nice mix of forested and pastoral environments. There are also lots of secluded, wooded tent sites, plus modern (and very luxurious) cabins with nice covered decks. Since this is an area we'd love to share with our families, the cabins would be perfect for us to host family without them having to stay on the RV or in a tent. The manager was nice enough to show us inside one. We will definitely come back to this park any time we visit Northern California's Redwood Forest. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had a great experience, the staff was really friendly and helpful on the phone and in person. The place was very quiet and clean. It is a beautiful setting and very relaxing along with the ability to see all the sights of interest with a very short trip. It was my first experience in the Redwoods and I am sure it wont be the last and I will make sure to stay here again. The showers and restroom was very well taken care of, it is obvious the staff takes pride in the appearance of the park. It has a dog wash, horseshoe pit, great playground along with trails to explore for the kids. We stayed in spot #33 and were surrounded by redwood trees, no sun would hit the RV even in the middle of the summer. Thanks for a great stay!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

An outstanding park for the money. The trees were simply beautiful and the park was very well maintained. With the new playground equipment, our kids had fun in between trips in and around the Crescent City area. The only drawback was the older style washer & dryers. Other than that, we will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved this campground as a stopping point (not a destination) - it's about 10 miles north of Crescent City. Although it is right next to Hwy 101, there is very little traffic noise. The sites are rustic with dirt pads, but have fern and beautiful redwood trees all around. I understand a new owner acquired it a year or so ago, so they have really done a great job revamping the campground. There is a new playground, horseshoes, and cabins along the outer perimeter (which seemed very nice from the outside). This campground lacks a store (which I understand will be coming in the near future), a pool (although it was too cold to swim when we visited), and a large laundry room (only two washers and two dryers, which were being used to wash the rental cabin linens). There are several campgrounds in Crescent City, but these were all unpleasant - just a parking lot with full-timers living in them, so your best bet is The Redwoods RV. Since there isn't much to do in Crescent City, I suggest using this campground as a stopping point for a couple nights. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We met here for a week long family reunion, taking 6 site, and had a great time. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially considering we had lots of small children running around. Close to the coast, Redwoods and a river. It's a beautiful park. The only complaint I have would be some stray dogs that wandered into camp and hung around all week. This is one of the best parks we've stayed in and would go out of our way to come back. The setting is incredible - you're surrounded by a lush forest redwoods abd fern. The spaces are large and, except for a couple of them, you're not on top of your neighbor. The staff was very friendly. They've put so much time and effort into making this a beautiful, spotlessly clean place to stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park was nearly empty except for some full timers who, unfortunately, let their dog bark outside at all hours. Management was aware of the issue but took no action. Ended up leaving a day early. Website also fails to mention location of maximum security state prison (less than a mile away). Spots were gravel but it appeared that drainage would be a problem. Campground is also too distant from Crescent City (which isn't much either). Better off staying in one of the state campgrounds. One positive, the bathrooms were very clean. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Although it was raining for part of our visit this was a beautiful park among beautiful trees. We were in a pull through site that looked like it was not under trees but our satellite could not pick up a signal. They do have good cable though. The children's playground was very nice and the staff was very friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent campground that is in the middle of a nice forest. A great location for exploring the various redwood parks that are nearby. The managers are very helpful and friendly. Wifi is excellent. Every site has a fire ring. We stayed here for 4 nights in our 40' motorhome. Very easy access for big rigs. We will return for sure!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This used to be The Ramblin Rose RV Park. It has changed dramatically. The setting is as beautiful as can be. Heavily treed. Large level sites. Nice central location for the area. We will stay here every time through the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Weekly rate is reflected. Older park with lots of redwood trees. Quiet. We stayed here 2 years ago. Sites are narrow. We got a site in the back of the park to be able to use our satellite dish. The back of the park is mostly those staying 6 months are longer. There were 5 park models there. satellite worked fine as well as the mobile broadband. Did not use the WiFi. Restroom building was painted on outside, and had new laundry machines. $2.50 to wash and $2 to dry. Restrooms had some paint pealing off, and the corners of the floor were not clean. It is located in the center of the park. Expect to walk a long way if you want to use them. No street lights in the back half of park. Close to city to see the sites. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stay in this "Village" every summer. The park is owned and run by a wonderful family. Everyone that works here is friendly and helpful. The Redwood trees, rhodendrums, hydrangeas and azaleas among the sites along with grass areas for games and pets will surely please all travelers. New washers and dryers in the laundry room this 2010 year. Plenty of hot water for showers and laundry. Patios and grass areas makes for clean camping. Spaces are designed along the drive through the park with lots of space and privacy choices. We have found less wind here and can enjoy sitting on our patio. Sure beats the summer heat of Redding,CA . Thats some of the reasons why we choose Village Camper Inn. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here under the Passport America rate. This is an old park with narrow sites. With both slides out we were halfway over the patio for the park model next door. Good thing they weren't there. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a couple of months while we volunteered at the nearby Battery Point Lighthouse. The sites are very narrow. We had numerous occasions when water was not available. There seemed to be construction in the area that we think was causing the problem. Most sites are shaded giving us trouble getting a site with a view for our roof top satellite dish. The park is very quiet. Others' comments were appreciated by us as well. Great hiking in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The campsites are big with a Redwood forest feel. Very clean and well maintained. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Very pretty and relaxing. There were several sites that the owners paid a monthly rate to keep their RV there and then would come stay on the weekend (at least during this time of year). Easy access to 101 and short drive / bike ride to Pt. Saint George area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice campground shaded by tall trees, including some redwoods. When we checked in, the clerk did not tell us where things were; we had to go back and ask. Laundry was dark, and we couldn’t use the folding table. Site was very level, although very narrow. Some sites were wide and private; others had little room between them. Campground entrance is somewhat hidden, but they provide a turnaround. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful wooded campground with friendly owners and staff! We stayed a week but picked our site carefully to be in range of "office only" wi-fi. Staff did not promise any wi-fi on site but we made it work mostly. Very quiet and relaxing; our park-of-choice for future visits to Crescent City! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Will return to this park. Plenty of long, level spaces for large rigs in open areas backing to Redwoods or in open grassy areas. A little tight going out the exit road, but doable. Loved the quiet and convenience. I'm getting wi-fi in one of the sites, but they say it's only available in the office. Free. Not much for kids to do in the park. It seems to cater to seasonals. Our circle had all new 50 amp service. Nice people in office. Near the Redwoods and the beaches along the scenic drive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a good older style campground. The management was helpful and gave us some great tips on local sightseeing. The Stout Grove of redwoods is a must see and close to the campground. Most of the sites are on loops rather than the typical parking lot layout. Many different types of sites from full shade to full sun. Good gravel roads and site pads. Many have concrete porches next to the sites. Not all sites were 50 amp. but new service was being upgraded while we were there. Sewer connections were at the back of the sites so be sure and have a long hose. The campground is secluded just North of town and is quiet. There are many campers who spend their summers here. We met several couples who were delightful folks to visit with. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
