Found park to be very accommodating as per my questions of the area and help in finding those tucked away places. Rained most of the time. Campground held up well. Staff was very friendly. Stayed one night and will be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has both back-in and pull-through sites, but, oddly enough, these are the same sites. You can either back into a single space, or pull through the space and drive *over* the grass median into a second site. In effect, “pull-throughs” use two back-to-back RV slots and back-ins only one. We chose to pull through, which turned out not to be a great idea because the utility hook-ups are designed for back-in. Still, the sites are both long and wide. The park doesn’t have much landscaping, but you are within walking distance of the ocean. We walked to the nearby harbor and saw sea lions that had taken over a dock. The bathrooms and laundry room are nice and spacious, but not very clean. The manager was friendly and helpful. She gave us great pointers on where to go for sightseeing. Our Verizon air card worked well, and we had excellent cell coverage. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has FHU, 70 channel cable, and WIFI in a parking lot type setting. The sites are adequate if the park isn't very full but would be claustrophobic if it was. As previously mentioned, you can walk into town as well as nearby restaurants, the harbor, and several other RV parks. Not a great park, but certainly adequate for overnight or a few days to see the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are relatively close but not obtrusive. Gravel access roads and pads with grass yard space. Trees all around. Friendly staff. WiFi good, cable very good. One of the cable ports we tried was very fuzzy but the other was fine. Neighbor's campfire rings are pretty close to the RV and might present a problem with smoke or winds, however this is pure speculation because non of our neighbors had a fire. North of Crescent City but allows easy access to the Redwoods and town. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We really liked this park; they have thought of EVERYTHING. There are full serviced RV sites, most are a little out in the open but very nice, and rustic tent sites back in a second growth redwood forest. RV sites are easy to get into. If you are traveling with teens, you can relax in your RV while they rough it in a tent in the woods. There is a store with basic things and a little game room, along with various ice cream socials, etc. There is a playground and a fenced pet area as well. We received excellent advice from the store to visit Jeremiah Smith State Park, and we didn't regret it. It's close to the campsite and it's simply amazing. Don't pull a trailer through there though, as it's very narrow. Overall, I would not stay anywhere else when visiting the redwoods. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Entry roads potholed and dusty. Roads within park very dusty. Sites- grass/gravel combo, a little uneven, but sufficiently spacious. Utilities reliable except for Wi-Fi which was spotty at best. CG had neighboring redwood paths. Would definitely return here again because it is the best CG in the Crescent City area and close to numerous redwood forests. Overall, this CG could benefit from some renovations. Stayed here 3 nights. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

It was a very nice state campground. I feel a bit high priced for no hook-ups, but the sites were beautiful, with redwoods all around. You couldn't ask for nicer ambiance. We got to the campground after the kiosk was closed but our name and campsite was listed on a whiteboard on the door of the kiosk. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful state park located just south of Crescent City in a canyon full of mature second growth redwoods. Sites are a little tight -- RV's with multiple slide-outs might have trouble fully deploying. Long drive in from US 101 (2.5 miles)has some interesting twists and grades but is do-able with care for even the big rigs. Dump station a bit antiquated but serviceable (take the left lane as it is level). Nearby beach at Crescent City (~5 miles) is very nice and dogs are welcome. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

After reading previous reviews we were not going to stay at this park, but when we drove past we decided to stay. We were given a site (#10) with a view of the ocean. I will agree there are a lot of full time, low income residents and some of the RV's were quite old. I would not recommend staying on the inside of the park. We had no problem here and loved our view. The manager was very friendly and works very hard to keep this park maintained. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Avoid this campground if you are traveling with small children: this is no place for them. It has a nice location near the beach, but that is its only good quality. The majority of residents we saw were full-time or month-to-month, living in run down trailers on dirty, garbage infested sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the first RV Park you encounter when driving North on HWY 101 and upon entering Crescent City. We stopped here only because it was getting late and we were concerned about not finding an open campground. Manger is friendly, but this is a very old, poorly maintained park. The sites are very close and cluttered. Although there were other overnighters staying there, most rigs seem to be full timers or long term. Many rigs are very old. The best thing going for this park is its location (right in the harbor). I would pass on staying here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

As stated by others, sites are oddly shaped but adequate. We found Wi-Fi fast and dependable. Nice park and in a great location. Road noise is not a big factor as Hwy 199 has very little traffic at night. Showers were very clean, but restrooms could use some work. Stopped up toilets and lack of paper. Would return as it is an easy in and easy out park and reasonably clean and taken care of. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We thought that this was a nice place, but nothing fancy. Pull through sites are oddly shaped and could be a problem if the place was full. But being the off season, we had no problem at all. The office staff was very friendly and helpful with information on local areas. Great place to see the Redwoods!! We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a pleasant, welcoming park offering good facilities and convenient access to Redwood National Park. The inland location gave us warm and sunny weather in contrast to the coast a few miles away. Utilities were mostly good; WiFi was slow and spotty at times, sewer hookups were inconveniently set at an angle. A lot of the park has an unusual configuration with sites arranged nose-to-tail but they seem to be long enough that it works for even large units to pull in and out of the rows. The laundry, restrooms, and club house areas were neat and clean. The price reflects Good Sam and cash discounts. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Right in the Redwoods! That says it all. You are surrounded by old growth redwoods - one in our site was at least 15' in diameter. Some sites are small but ours was big enough for a 28' trailer and tow. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Much of what the previous posters had said is still true. I will just modify a few statements. The cell signal with our Verizon air card was present, but spotty. It actually worked better taking it out of the router and external antenna and plugging directly into the computer. This may be due to being a roaming area for Verizon. Cell phones do work, but don't walk around too much or you will drop the call. Satellite TV is nearly impossible due to the extensive tree canopy. I tried with a portable dish, but couldn't get enough signal to lock on. The visitor center opened for the season on May 29th. Funny since they totally missed the Memorial Day crowds a few days before. They did have a few Ranger programs, but we left as they were more geared towards children. In the rains such as we had, the grounds can get pretty muddy since the trees prevent the sun from getting through. In the warmer summer months the shade would be a welcome benefit. All staff at the park is helpful and friendly. Many tenter's frequent the park but all were considerate. We adhered to generator hours of 10 AM to 8 PM, and that made the tenter's happy. One issue though, I didn't see a lot of sites that would hold a larger rig. It's not the size of the site necessarily, but the room to turn into the site with the trees and rocks along the narrow road. My 35' motor home just barely made the turn. I would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the best places to stay if you want to camp among the giant redwood trees. The camping spaces are nicely nestled in the middle of an old growth grove of trees. We had a 35' motorhome, and there were quite a few spots we would fit. The road is narrow and twisty coming and going. I would not recommend if you have anything larger than 35ft. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate shown interior site winter discount. Rates are higher for ocean view sites which are about 50 feet away from the beach. Friendly park staff. Site was a gravel pull-through and not level. It had been raining and many sites had water puddles and a few tire ruts. One side of the park has permanent residents. Good cable TV. Weak intermittent Wi-Fi. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed 2 nights but after the first I wanted to move but as all the really better parks were closed, we stayed again. The other open parks in town were not that much better. Wi-Fi is promised and the connection to the office works well, but from there on nothing is going through. A simple reboot could probably solve the problem but the office person refused to touch it! I was told the restrooms are locked from 6 pm to 8 am. However, at 05.30 pm they were locked already and upon leaving on the last morning I finally had the possibility to check them out. Well, you better lock them! The upside of this park is its location right in downtown and the proximity to more or less everything. The longtimers in the park didn't really help to improve the picture and the yelling around midnight made another RVer stepping out and yelling back and asking for a quiet time. I won't return and if again in this area at the same time of year would probably not even stay in this town again as the good parks are all closed. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The spaces may be rustic and some of the equipment may be old, but, people, it is on the water, the sunset alone is worth the stay. You can easily walk to the Marina or into town if you do not have a tow car. We did have Wi-Fi in the middle of the park. We will stay there again if we go to Crescent City. We have stayed there twice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Was an overnight stop. Lots of long term residents and some of them were racing gas powered remote controlled cars around in front of us. Sites were side by side but large enough but power was a bit iffy at our site. Was quiet at night and was an OK overnight stop. Passport Rate was $15. Staff was helpful but the park had zero amenities of any kind and one set of garbage bins for all. Would maybe stay here again in a pinch. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a beautiful RV Park. Huge redwoods throughout and walking through the park was lovely. The playground is huge and kids loved it. There is lots of green grass for kids to play on. $2.50 per load of washing so it was a bargain. The bathrooms were spotless. I would have given a 10 except the cable TV was snowy. Would recommend this fantastic RV Park. It's 7 or so miles to Crescent City but it's an easy drive along the highway. The beach is close by also We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
