If you enjoy a parking lot with hookups, and don't mind the traffic noise from Pacific Coast Highway, then this is the place for you. The sites are very tight...there was barely room to put out the awning. But, it didn't really matter much, because the traffic noise made sitting outside a lost cause. We won't be going back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground or parking lot is located right on PCH. So as stated before; the beach side or odd numbered sites are much more quiet. We enjoyed our time and already have reservations for the summer. There is a great bike trail and snack bars. There is even a dog beach close by. The state park site says the have WiFi, but they didn't. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a parking lot on PCH. Saying that it is also right on one of the best beaches in So. Cal., Surf City, USA. The weather was perfect, the camp hosts and park staff were great, they even have activities planned in the summer. The only problem is noise. The even numbered site are right on PCH lots of road noise, but the bird noise can be heard everywhere, and it is not just a few seagulls. We had to turn our A/C on in the morning just so we could sleep past sunrise. I would love to go again, but I would have to make sure the birds hadn't migrated yet. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If it weren't for the location I would not recommend this park. It's expensive, old, worn and is basically an parking lot. What makes it worthwhile, in some respects, is what it's close to, i.e. the Pacific Ocean that is just across the street-- a major 5 lane roadway and the Huntington Beach town, itself, is close by. They do have pet walk areas (2) but our dogs would not use them, for reasons only they knew. There is a city RV park, on the ocean side of the road, that I would try next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very high priced park, but essentially it's clean. It's basically a parking lot with hookups. The pool and hot tub were clean, but not very warm. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Across Pacific Coast Hiway from 'THE BEACH!'. It's basically a well lined out parking lot with patios and tables and a few palm trees. It is spotlessly clean including, pool, laundry, kids play areas, spa and rec room. Coffee and donuts in the AM and a VERY courteous and helpful crew. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Beach and ocean-front camping in a parking lot. The fantastic ocean view can be blocked unless parked in the front row. Reservations by mail only, well in advance (for weekends). Closed during the summer and during special events. Bicycle rentals are nearby and several restaurants and shops are nearby. The campground is very close to the long pier. Handicapped rate is $50 a night, regularly $60 a night. Dump station has 2 lanes and gets busy at checkout time. The pull-through sites are roomy. It can get a little rowdy. Bikes and pets allowed on the beach boardwalk. There is a dog beach in the area but not really within walking distance. Close to Southern California attractions. Fires are allowed in fire rings on the beach. We will be back as soon as we can get reservations in the fall. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sunset Vista RV Park is owned and operated by the City of Huntington Beach. It is a fun place with many activities. It is located on one of the nicest beaches in California. It is located right on the same beach that the popular OP Pro surf contest is located. It is near one of the longest piers in the US. There is a nice downtown area nearby with something for all ages. There are bicycle and pedals cars for multiple riders to ride on the very nice beachwalk. There are surfboard, bodyboard, and wetsuit rentals too. Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm are 20 to 30 minutes away. We camped here in our toy hauler in December of 2005. The sites are large, flat, and clean. The only thing I didn't like was there was no shade, but that is why we have our awning. The kids (both 13 years old) had a blast with all the activities. Riding bikes, playing in the sand and waves (too cold for me and mom, eating at Ruby's (hamburger joint) on the end of the pier, and getting icecream in the downtown area. The campground is not the quietest I have stayed at, as you could hear the traffic on Pacific Coast Highway nearby, but it was not that bad. The campground is only open from October 1 through May 31, I suspect because the city needs the parking for summertime. There are not individual sewer hookups, but there is a nicely setup dump station. This is not a quiet wilderness type campground. It is a very fun location for the family so I rated it as a 10 because of what it is. It is not the cheapest, but we will definitely be going back in the near future. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
