This park was pleasant enough, although the trails were not well maintained. The restrooms in the upper loop were so dirty I refused to use them. The restrooms near the picnic area were closed due to budget cuts, according to the sign. It didn't bother to mention there was another (unmarked) restroom on the other side of the picnic area, which we found by accident, so other visitors were using the bushes. You have to walk to the picnic area to get Wi-Fi. No hookups and you can't run the generator until 10 a.m., which makes for a very chilly morning. There are much nicer places to camp for the money. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a gem of a park! A great Redwoods campground. Some sites are tight. We have a small teardrop trailer so we fit in most all of the sites. Showers had the best hot water of any state park we have stayed at! Located close to the coast and the San Francisco Bay area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a lovely park! The sites are a bit small, and some would not be particularly good with a trailer. Our site was quite spacious. It was a bit noisy on weekends, but not bad. There is a lot of shade, mostly from the redwoods. We have a solar charger, and it was a bit of a problem, but well worth it. Without traffic, we were able to get to San Francisco in about 45 minutes. Even better: we could get to Point Reyes National Seashore in less time! (I checked the Wi-Fi box because you can get it for a fee within a couple hundred feet of the guard station). We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This campground was amazing! It is just minutes from San Francisco but in a gorgeous redwood forest. The campground is heavily wooded and quiet. There were clean showers available for 50 cents. I recommend this place to anyone who can do without hook ups. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Samuel P. Taylor is a really beautiful state park, close to San Francisco and to Point Reyes National Seashore. There's no electricity, but the facilities are clean and the sites are well spaced and located in a beautiful redwood forest. There's a dump station up at the front. We stayed there while visiting Point Reyes, and although there are private RV parks nearby with better amenities, we haven't seen ones that are attractive--S.P. Taylor State Park is beautiful. There are about 35 RV-capable sites, and many more tent sites. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
