The GOOD: Tubing down the river was the best part. The people working there were friendly. The BAD: Otherwise the place was full of visitors that can be described as "THUGS FOR LIFE". Campsites were overcrowded. People were chopping wood at 11:30 pm outside our window. Blaring Mexican music was a common occurrence. The bathrooms were filthy. People had pooped in the urinals, which were NOT cleaned. The showers were ONLY cold water with NO shower heads, just a stream shooting out of a straight pipe. There were not nearly enough bathrooms for the number of people in the park. Electrical hookups were shady at best. Our breakers kept popping and it was BARELY enough to keep the RV cool. SUMMATION: We had a good time regardless of the conditions. But I doubt we will be back, as there are plenty of other places in southern California that offer better camping conditions. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had stayed at this park before and had a wonderful time, but it had been approximately 15 years prior. We were very disappointed in the changes that had occurred. The majority of the park is occupied by permanent residences, which include RV's and park model mobile homes. There are only around 10 full hookup campsites that can be used for campers. I only saw one tent site, which looked nice. The bathrooms that were located near us were closed the entire time we were there & smelled really bad. There was only one picnic table for all of the RV sites and you can get a fire pit upon request. There are 2 ponds, one looks like they are trying to empty it & the other looked nicer, but still had a lot of trash in & around it. There was no longer a store, or the large clubhouse that we remembered. The playground looked run-down & had graffiti written on it. The first night we were there, 2 men were involved in a fist fight. It was not very peaceful because there was always dogs barking and loud music playing. We couldn't walk our dog like we usually do, because there were always stray dogs running around that looked sick. The price for this campground was an astonishing $45 a night, what is normally paid for a camping resort. This campground is no resort. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
