“Senior Living On The Salton Sea” That’s what the business card reads anyway. This place is an anomaly by todays standards. Built back when the Salton Sea was a going concern, this park still holds on. In most of the places we’ve stayed it’s the people that make up the soul of a park. This one is no exception. Staying for a month like we did, revealed that everyone was open and friendly. We were invited to the many events that go on here. As far as the park itself, it’s a mixture of trailers, mobile homes, and 5th wheels. The open areas are for the transients. Just be aware that since the park was designed for mobile homes, the power supply, water, and sewer hookups were on the wrong side for us. A 20 foot sewer hose should work out for most folks. There is a gravel dog walk area that would be great if the owners would enclose the front with a fence and a gate. Lots of folks have sand rails here which is the main attraction for the area. The park is very quiet at night except for a couple of resident owls, coyotes, and morning doves. The view of the water is nice although the best description for it is, “ a water desert.” We didn’t notice one boat, fisherman or swimmer while we were there. There is a laundry, showers, clubhouse, pool and spa here, so if a swim is what you want that;s where you go. There is a new market by Hwy. 86 as well as a restaurant. A small casino is just down the road. If you need wifi just check into the Salton City library, it’s free. Indio is 30+ miles north on Hwy. 86 and has a Costco, Wal-Mart, ect. You’ll find the closer you get to Indio and Palm Springs, the rates for staying at RV parks will double or triple. We felt we got the most bang for the buck here. As always, your milage may vary. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
