We stayed here briefly on our very first trip with a new (to us) Class A motorhome. When we arrived, we needed the assistance of the Camp Host to change sites because ours was as steep as a playground slide, and we couldn't get level despite blocks and boards. No one was available, nor was there a sign saying when s/he would return. Perhaps because of this, the noise went on well after 11 p.m. Even worse, when we left the next day, large untrimmed branches overhanging the road left broad, deep scratches in the side of our coach. This is very traumatic when it's your first trip with a new toy! Class A motorhomes -- beware! Avoid this campground! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a Forest Service CG just outside Wrightwood. No amenities (dry camping, no showers), but good for a weekend getaway from Los Angeles. Close by is Jackson Lake, which is stocked with trout and there is a 1/2 nature trail at the entrance. Although best suited for tents or small trailers, we were able to get our 28' TT into a fairly level site. Elev. is 7200', open only April-Nov. Had the place virtually to ourselves in October. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
