Phones are disconnected; website shut down and the last time past there it was empty. I think they are closed. They were way overpriced anyway. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a very nice rv park....once you get up here. It is a climb but we had been here before and so we unhooked down at the bottom. The free WI-FI is fast and strong and available at your site. They have free cable TV, a nice laundry and a couple of hot tubs. There is also a small store and gift shop. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. We aren't really gamblers but if you are, Central City is right down the hill. There just isn't much in the way of campgrounds in this part of Colorado and so we use it as a base to explore the area. The rate reflects a weekly rate including tax. We will come back here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I called this park at least one full month in advance to our trip. During our conversation, I was told that it is easy to walk from the park down to Central City (for a meal, or to gamble). I was also told that there is someone there every day. Not only was there no one there, they disappeared for three days during Christmas, and it had snowed at least 18 inches. No one plowed the parking lots, or bothered to even check to see if we were alive. Not only were we snowed in, but everything froze... No running water, etc. We ran out of propane just as they were opening their doors back up... I am glad my wife and I are young (in our 40's) and were able to walk, so we were able to get out of the snow and cold by walking the full mile and a half just to get something to eat (in below Zero Degree weather). It is a very hazardous walk down the mountain into town. There is no way I would ever recommend this site to anyone. They were never even concerned if we were alive... and they kept our money even though we had nothing but a snowed-in trailer to show for it (no running water, etc.) They finally plowed enough snow out of the way so we could just get the heck out of there before it got worse. It took them a full hour before it was plowed enough for me to use our snow chains and start down the hill. This park is NOT for everyone... We camped here in a Motorhome.
They still haven't gotten that exit directly off the new road from I-70. So you may still have to climb and descend the steep road from town. The new owners have raised the rates $10-15/day in less than 2 years. This makes staying here more than one night very expensive. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a new campground with a very steep climb to access. There is a steady 8.3 mile 8% grade climb from I-70 to Central City and then the last mile up (and I do mean UP) to the campground is an even steeper grade with two pretty tight hairpin curves. We have a 37' Class A towing a Jeep and we made it up here OK, but using 20/20 hindsight we wish we would have un-hooked at the bottom! Once you get up here, the views are beautiful. You feel like you are on top of the world. The sites are large and the WIFI and cable are free. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have a petition they are asking guests to sign which would allow access to the campground from the parkway that leads to Central City. That would alleviate the grueling 1 mile climb up to the campground after getting to Central City. I would have given it a 10 if it weren't for the access issue. We like the campground and would love to come back but we might wait to come back after they get their access road! We camped here in a Motorhome.
We arrived during rain and were unable to look for the sights. Still a better location than most Denver places. About 45 minutes from Denver. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park for adults. Nice views all around. Access was soon to improve with new road construction linking Central City to I-70. The road we drove in on had the steepest grade we have ever encountered. The laundry was excellent and we spent time in their great hot tub while waiting for it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great campground. All sites were concrete pads. Friendly staff. Hills are steep to get there. There is one real sharp turn in town on the road to the campground but I had no issues with my almost 50' overall length. You are difinitely in the mountains and the town is below you. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a new park. We had to drive thru Black Hawk & Central City to get there. The last mile from Central City was quite steep, but well worth the climb to this nice park at 9000 ft. elevation. Sites are paved, have patios and are easy for a big rig to get in to. Roads are gravel and wide. Laundry & showers are clean. There are no trees. We had a premium site overlooking Central City and would recommend the preminum sites. There is a new road being built that will go from I-70 at Idaho Springs directly thru the mountains and right by this park. That road will make it much easier to get to this park. We will definitely be going back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
