The KOA campground at the end of Alligator Point was washed away by a hurricane several years ago. There is not a campground there any more. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Anyone know if this place still exists? Web link comes up "unknown website" Last review was in 2004. We were there in 1978, it was beautiful...but nothing lasts forever. Reality check?
Phone number is dead and I updated the web link, also park my be dead. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Alligator Point is a really wonderful location for relaxing and enjoying a view of the Gulf of Mexico. The sites are adequately spaced and easy to back in to, plus they have many pull thru sites. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring with grill attached. There is no beach to speak of, just large rocks used as a wave break, but there are beaches nearby. The sunsets are amazing, and if you look carefully you can see dolphins as they feed along the coast. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice campground right on the Gulf of Mexico. Unfortunately, we understand that the campground will be torn down to build condos. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We met another couple here for Christmas last year. What a disappointment. The park has
nothing more than sand campsites. There are a few trees, but those are over in the "monthly" section. Besides being across the street from the gulf (and a rocky shore), the campground really didn't have anything to offer. There is a pier on the bay side of the island. But, there isn't much to enjoy except the water. The campers are crammed next to each other just like a typical KOA campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
