Booked 2 nights online through chat / phone. Stayed one. Site is billed as "Full Hook Up". Doesn't work for a late model RV with midship water and sewer hookup. Water and sewer connections end up under the coach. 30 amp power is a hot plug loosely attached to a pole with no identifiable circuit breaker. Looking in the open uncovered power box I surmise the wiring does not meet standard electrical code requirements. On arrival the agent asked if we were frightened by the neighborhoods we drove through to get to the resort. He couldn't check us in because he had already closed for the day, before 5:00 PM. He neglected to give us the sign on code so we were unable to use the Wi-Fi. Since we couldn't use the sewer hook up we had to move the RV to the dump station do dump tanks. The only thing that was really good was the cable TV reception which the agent on duty in the morning said we weren't supposed to have. Given that this is our first and only experience with Sun RV Resorts it will be a very long time if ever before we stay at another one. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Be prepared to carry Vaseline to coat your rig so you can squeeze in the lots. So unimpressed with this place. We arrived after hours and did not receive a welcome packet containing any park information. We had to ask neighbors where the amenities were. Tried to go to the club house to use WiFi. I was told that is was reserved for a dance practice, and I would have to wait until it was over. Never did get WiFi to work. This park is not easy to get to. You must go through neighborhoods with tight curves to get there. Will never go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed for a week. Only free air TV. Go to club house for Wi-Fi. Every other lot was full but come December things would get pretty tight slide to slide. Majority of temp lots are grass, access roads paved with bump strips. Manager is great. Would not stay all winter but a good short term park. Call the resort rather than putting up with their Detroit call center. We camped here in a Motorhome.

You need to pull through the gate and straight ahead to park at the office for registration. There isn't a sign visible from the entrance telling you that. The office staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Fortunately, we decided to disconnect the TOAD before going to our site because some of the turns were a bit tight for our 36 footer. Maintenance trucks blocked part of the road so getting to our site was a bit tricky. It is doable and the workers will move their trucks if necessary. (We could have made the turns in our 40 footer so it is big rig friendly, just use care.) The sights are blacktop with some grass but mostly dirt. They are very narrow and our tires just fit on it from side to side. We had no trouble leveling but I wouldn't have been able to put our awning out all the way because of a close tree. Even though the campground is fairly close to a major highway, there is very little traffic noise. We would stay here again if visiting the Bradenton area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice quiet park. The March 2014 review was right on the mark, convenient and quiet. The park RV sites were fairly empty of campers so we had lots of room. Level sites. WiFi was free to us and OK. bath/rest rooms were older but spotless. We stayed 2 weeks and would return again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is based on 3-monthly rate. Electric and cable extra. WiFi included. This is an older RV park where we spent two months. The sites are generally really a good size and many have shade trees. Roughly 50% RVs and 50% installed homes. 4 laundry rooms means no waiting. Pool is spotless. Gym is well equipped with modern stuff, as is wood shop. If you want group activities, there is always something going on like bridge, crib, shuffleboard, horseshoes, petoncles, supper parties, choir, band, etc etc. The island is a tremendous asset, with trails, lots of waterfront, a screened pavilion. The park is about 1 mile from I-95, and much further from railway tracks and flight paths, so nice and quiet. Big box retail is close. Beautiful Bradenton Beach and Cortez are about 20 mins away. Staff are very pleasant and responsive. First visit is always a shot in the dark, but we liked it well enough to rebook for next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Sites are spacious and well-separated for a quiet, private stay. Cell phones worked well. It is convenient to activities in Sarasota. Staff was pleasant, even stopping to tell us not to rush to leave since no one was coming in. This was our second stay here, and we will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park - clean, safe and quiet park (we were not there during racetrack activities). More convenient for water activities like canoe, fishing, etc. Hiking trails are located on staff roads. There are not really bike trails in the park, but a lot around Bradenton. We would go back there for a short stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We really enjoyed the quiet at this campground. Our site (#28) was very spacious, level and provided much privacy. Boating is permitted on the lake, there is a tiny beach and a nice sized park. It's a perfect place for a little r&r. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Different! Interesting restaurant with good food. The restaurant is unusual full of taxidermy. The river sites were good for kayaking. We stayed by some older permanent trailers. Our site was level and utilities were good. Very shady & tropical. We stayed here for a weekend getaway & we rested. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff at this park is very friendly. That said, this is not a resort type park. It consists of mostly permanent residents. Most of the residents are very personable with a few that seem to think they run the park. The river side of the park has more of a party atmosphere with music and campfires often late into the night. The other side of the park seems to shut down at about 8pm. My major issue here was with the price considering that there are very few amenities offered. There is wifi in the park, but it is spotty at best. All of the roads are dirt with plenty of potholes. It gets muddy when it rains and is dusty the rest of the time. They have put in new washers and dryers, but the washers are very small capacity. Many of the sewer hookups are old and not capped properly. Mine had a loose fitting top that allowed all the sewer gas to expel when I emptied my tanks. I had to let my trailer air out afterwards. I ate at the restaurant several times, and it was hit and miss as far as quality. I know that there are some size limits on what this park can accommodate. If you are coming with a larger motorhome, I would call ahead. I ended up leaving a couple of weeks early due to a family emergency, and I was surprised that the management didn't offer a credit of any kind considering the situation. My understanding from talking to some of the permanent residents is that the park has changed ownership and that since that time the prices have skyrocketed and the quality has declined. There are several other parks in the area that offer much more at the same price. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an old mobile home park but many moved away and sites changed to RV usage. Roads are shell that needs smoothing and this can be dusty. Most sites have tree coverage that makes getting in challenging. Some sites have cable. Water pressure is about 25 psi so we utilized our tank and on-board pump for most water needs. This park was purchased by the county 2/11 so some of this may change. It was reported to have been purchased to protect a watershed; however, one of the commissioners had financial interest in the sale according to newspaper reports. The restaurant has large crowds but mixed reviews on the food quality. The restaurant was voted one of 15 most unique restaurants in the nation, thus it is worth a visit. Internet: We used a broadband card with no difficulty. There is a hotspot in the park we did not use. There are no water sites. There are a very few that have a view and these are occupied by very long-term guests. The park is not kid friendly meaning there are not thing like playgrounds. You may not swim in the river due to gaiters. It is a kayak launching point for many. We stayed a month and would return if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I gave this park a 9 rating only because the location is far from the beaches. It is near to I-75 and that made it easy for us to get Sarasota without fighting the local traffic. This is a 55+ park. The people were friendly and there are lots of activities planned for those staying for the winter or year-round. Has a nice lake in the center where miniature boating is a fun pass-time. We didn't use the laundry (two on site) or showers. Wi-Fi and cable worked well for us. The rates here were much better than most for this time of year in this area. Most CG are full of snowbirds and it can be difficult to find a site. This CG has mostly permanent or wintering campers, so I'd suggest booking early. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a resort community that is quickly becoming only a mobile home community. As people purchase a site, the places for RV’s diminishes. They have many activities throughout the winter. The roads are asphalt and the sites are sand. An issue with the sand is the amount of dirt mixed with it. Between tracking it in and it blowing, there is almost a need for daily cleaning in the RV. Many of the mobile home owners have concreted or otherwise covered the sand to lessen the sand in the house. There is a man-made lake in the middle of the park that is good for running radio controlled boats in or fishing – some catch and release. There is Wi-Fi in the park, but if you need to have the link, this is not the place for you. The system logs you off repeatedly most of the time. This does include times in the middle of the night when the usage should be low. There are a few pull-thru sites, but in the winter they are always full of people staying for a month or more. The info on sites is not accurate as this would count the mobile home sites and sites occupied by RVs left all year; there are many of these rigs there. Not sure if we would return here. If we did not have dogs, we would go elsewhere. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sarasota Bay is ruled by the resident owned Paradise Bay. Rules, written and unwritten are enforced or ignored with no logic. Although they advertise 300 sites, in reality there are less than 100 as the majority are park models. Office staff in Sara Bay is outstanding, can't say the same for Para Bay. Extended stays here are the norm, and once you are in, you can reserve your site for 3 or more months for next year, prior to Feb. There are no shade trees. HOWEVER..This is a great community for those who return. On site there are bowling, shuffle, bocce, pool leagues, cards and games every night, current movies every Saturday. Boat docks and storage available, $405.00 yearly. Biking distance to Gulf beaches and restaurants. Wireless is absolutely useless, down more than up but Brighthouse is available to install internet or cable usually on a days notice. We have been returning for ten years and have noticed many changes and will return. Have recommended to others. No mail service, but Cortez P.O. is a mile away. Considering all the amenities this is the best value in the area, if you can get in. Para Bay is on the intercoastal and the marina is walking/bicycle distance from the furthest site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is actually very close to Cortez, 2 miles to the great Anna Maria Island beaches, an easy bike. 55 plus community, nice clubhouse with pool tables and a library with Wi-Fi. Children allowed 2 weeks max. No pets. Wi-Fi not available at the RV site. Must make arrangements with Brighthouse to install cable, not good if you are staying only a week or less. A palm tree on each lot. Crushed stone pad with cement patio. Mostly snowbirds with trailers converted to permanent location with cement drives added, but clean and well kept. Looks like they are not allowing any more annual residents to free up space for more transient RV'er. Pool is located at adjacent, related development. Would not stay again, I need my Wi-Fi and cable! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here from Sept until mid-Nov 2012. Park is mostly fixed trailer type units that belong to snow birds. All sites are extremely close together. There was little to no parking your tow vehicle in the same site as your coach. Parking throughout whole place is extremely limited, but there is an overflow lot at the front of the park. Maneuverability with a dually towing a 42 ft. Fifth wheel was very tight (but doable). Site we were on was a back in site. Site also backed up to a holding pond of some sort as part of the cemetery next door. humid weather was a breeding ground for the mosquitoes and other flying critters. Water hookup was adequate, electric was old and could use updating. Site was not paved. Pull through sites were paved, but still very close together. Laundry facilities were dated, and washers could use updating. Dryers ran extremely hot, you had to watch them or they would burn your clothes. Mailboxes available if you want, mailbox and gate key required a $30 deposit (which you get back upon checkout). Shopping, restaurants, etc. was very close/accessible. Did not use pool or bath facilities. Manager was very standoffish, and not overly friendly. Had two occurrences of someone trying to break into our truck bed, and people 3 doors away fought loudly and often. Probably wouldn't stay here again unless there was nothing else available. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed "off season" park was at least 3/4 empty. We had a very relaxing and quiet stay. Management had a "whatever you'd like" attitude that was appreciated. I had pre-selected a particular site on a previous drive through and although it is their policy to assign sites it was no problem. It was very hot, as Florida is this time of year, but the power stayed constant throughout our visit. Bugs were no worse than any other place around here at the moment. The few residents present were friendly, but basically left us alone. This is a nice park, and having the facilities practically to yourself is kind of neat. We will return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Above average RV park with about 50 park models. Many long term residents. Facilities are very good and in good repair. However, sites can be quite narrow and the site we had fell off at the back but we leveled easily. We were close to the interstate, but we were not bothered by the traffic noise as much as the "no-see-ums" biting us when we walked our dogs. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV resort is anything but a resort. There is more trash in this park than there is at the city dump. Not only that, dog waste liters the streets. I pulled into my site and stepped in dog waste, and then I noticed it in my tires. I was ready to leave. You are about 100 yards from I-75, and the noise gets unbearable at times. The resort (joke) has about 500 sites, with over half being permanent (campers), so you can see why this place can get trashy and residents thinking they own the place. The people are very friendly, but some of the staff need to find another line of work. This is my first and last time here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
