This was a good base for us to stay for our last night before dropping our RV off in Orlando. I imagine it would be a good base to use for exploring the Orlando area. Friendly staff and a clean site. Facilities looked good although we didn't have a chance to use them (swimming pool etc). I would imagine that this is a very hectic place when fully occupied given that there are over 900 pitches. I would not want to be there then! We camped here in a Motorhome.
I totally agree with one of the other reviewers thoughts, the manager at Southern Palms is terrible! We have stayed at this park twice. The first time was in Feb. therefore it was still very crowded. So the the rude behavior of the staff was tolerated by my girlfriend and I. We decided to give it another chance in June. This was a mistake. We were 1 of about 5 or 6 RV's in their section across 44A there are over 200 sites on this side. They put us directly in the sun. After getting set up and seeing how hard our AC was working, we asked to move to a shaded spot. The manager said no. Then changed her mind when she thought we might pay some more money. She said all the shady spots were premium sites. We didn't change sites. On the day we were moving on, I had to work. Check out time is 12. I leave work around 2:30. We asked if we could have a late check out time, she said no. She told my girlfriend just to pull out of the spot and wait for me to get off work. Its 95+ outside and we don't have a generator. During the Snowbird season you will be packed in like sardines. I do not recommend this place, although I would if the manager was replaced. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The manager is out of control. She thinks she owns the place but does not. Many, many people have problems with her. She is bossy, mean and thoughtless. The residents have to put up with a lot of bull because of her. Don't go there. If you must, then just nod your head "yes" a lot in the office. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Reservations were made, and after office hours arrival was great. The evening site manager was very helpful assisting us with directions to site. Site 900 was adjacent to the highway intersection so road noise was loud; there was a motorcycle bar right at the intersection so the local bikers caused a lot of noise with their bikes well after closing time. Site was nice and large, folks in park were very sociable, and the restrooms were extremely well kept. The only complaint is the racket in the entire section close to the intersection and rec hall area. Won't be staying there again for that reason. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here in a motor home under the Thousand Trails Park Pass. We were camped against the fence next to the County Park. Was quiet. Probably would be noisy if the County Fair Grounds were use - under then the Farmers/Flea Market. Fire Ants but otherwise, nice park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice campground.Beautiful pool. Large computer area and community buildings. Huge laundry and clean bathrooms. Sites are adequate and the roads paved. The office staff are great. It must be very busy in the season. Passport America is accepted. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
