We love to go to Rocky Mountain. It is close enough, but far enough away, that we feel like we have gone somewhere, without the long drive. We love to fish so we always try to get a lakefront site. It is wonderful for family, or couples. Has a great beach area plus grills if you are there only for the day. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds because it's secluded, has excellent sites. Lakefront sites are spacious. Some sites are a bit unlevel. There is a beautiful beach for swimming. The scenery is gorgeous. This is a friendly campground. It is on a first come first serve basis and you fill out your envelope and pay on the honor system. Staff come by sites and are friendly. This is a dog friendly campground too. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice campground setting. Lots of shade. Nice beach. Bathrooms and showers where a bit dirty. Not much hot water. You must pay a one time vehicle fee, $3. 00, in addition to the camping fee. Very good fishing. Many camp sites are located right on the water. The campsites themselves were clean and level. Great place to bring a canoe. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This campground is run by the Ga. Dept. of Natural Resources but is owned by Oglethorpe Power and Ga. Power. The campground has a playground and beach area. There are trails to hike. The restrooms are very clean and the campground is well maintained. If you get a lakefront site you can dock your fishing boat right at your campsite. The lake is not large enough for ski boats but has good fishing. There are park rangers on duty and a campground host so it is a nice campground for family camping. We camped here in a camper.
