Over priced for the service. You pay a premium price and get treated horribly. All the scheduled activities start late, and if you ever need help from the park, good luck getting any. Will never go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Recently upgraded playground, plenty of activities for younger kids. during summer they have dances for older kids. very friendly staff. Seasonal's think the park is theirs! (as with any seasonal). A nice park within an hours drive of Chicago. The halloween weekends (3) are the best I've seen! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Let me first explain that we were here over Easter Weekend, it was VERY cold and there was no one else in this campground but my family. It was a ghost town, and they had no planned activities this weekend. That said...I was not impressed by this park, it was full of junky seasonals. To camp here during the busy season would be nothing more then parking in a crowded parking lot. The water was not on yet, they had electric and sewer hook ups and no activities and they still charged $41 a night plus $3 for our dog. We left after the first night, and because I prepaid for 2 nights...they would not give us our money back for the 2nd night. They did give us a gift cert. for a return this season because of that, we will give it another try this summer when the kids can use the pool and the activities, but I have to say that the seasonals are a big turn off to me. They make the park look very unappealing. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Great campground, especially for the kids. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and the owner obviously takes pride in ensuring your camping experience is a good one. Not one of the biggest campgrounds around, but that's not a bad thing. Sites are clean and spaced out to allow some privacy and breathing room. Their camp store is well stocked and reasonably priced. My kids (and I) look forward to the pizza puffs sold in their store, always a welcome treat. Overall a fantastic campground, close to home for campers in the western suburbs of Chicago, and reasonably priced. As much as my family and I enjoy trying new campgrounds, we tend to compare them to the Millbrook Yogi Bear. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We have always had a good time at this park. There are lots of kid's activities going on throughout the day. Maybe earlier this month they put in a new play gym for the kids, looks really nice and was not there last month (an older one was there). Owners are always around and the crew is friendly. Our girls like the wagon rides with Yogi as they sing songs throughout the camp. We have seen the pool get a little green before but this weekend even 90+ all the time it stayed blue. Not so many other great campgrounds this close to Chicago. There is a well stocked ranger station and easy access to a Super Walmart for last minute items. Worth the money for us. June 2006
$51
As others have said, this park is aging. Playground, while having more than others, is getting tired. Trees in some bad places for navigation. Free wireless internet, but wasn't working during our stay. At $50/night + $3 per pet, I was expecting much more, specifically clean and shiney. We had fun, just not enough to justify the price. It was the best option for where we needed to be, next time, I'd pick one of the others in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We went in June of 2005 in a 31 foot fifth wheel. We almost passed this one up after reading and hearing bad reviews. I'm glad we went! Our days were filled with activities for the kids. From cartoons in the morning to a movie at night, there was always something to do. As a previous reviewer noted, the pools were a strange shade of green, but we survived. The employees were friendly and energetic, the campground owner was always around. My only complaint was the price, if it wasn't so darn expensive, we would be back again next weekend. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The two times we camped here were off season with a discounted rate. We had a great time, even when it was snowing. Staff was great and the restrooms were clean. Kids had a wonderfull time riding their bikes, playing at the park and joining in with the many activities. We can't wait to return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We went with a bunch of friends in July. The pools were dirty and over crowded. The roads in the park are very narrow and next to impossible to maneuver through with a large TT. The campground is full of seasonal people, one bathroom for the whole park, the playground was not in great shape. Mini-golf was available for $5 a person and it was a nothing of a course. Everything was overpriced and the fees charged for changing or cancelling a reservation were ridiculously high ($12) Reservations must be paid in full before arrival. The staff was unfriendly, as was management. They charge by the person and pet, an extra tent on a site is $14. This place is one to avoid!!!!! We camped here in a camper.

$40
We were there in October. Heavily treed. Park was very empty yet despite occupancy and season, there was no rate discount. We would have left except we were meeting a potential buyer of our rig there (yep, it sold and we quickly left for Windy City CG to wait for closing.) We were in a 36' 5th and the site assigned was barely long enough for the 5th and it was not level. Had to park truck off site. Next day saw many empty big sites. No stores, restaurants or attractions of any kind nearby. Chicagoans must be hard up for camping locations to put up with this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
