We stay a few times a year here at Ramsey Lake state park. It is a beautiful park and very well maintained by their friendly crew there. They even have a equine campground area that it supposed to undergo renovation. No complaints, love this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The only thing this park had going for it was a very nice 9 hole golf course about a mile away. The course has very friendly owners and inexpensive rates. One other plus was that it is close to a grocery store and gas station. There were no garbage receptacles anywhere close, I had to carry to the dump station which was quite a ways from the campsites. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a 1,960 acre State park that is open all year long. The park is located in a rolling hill type setting, off US highway 51, just 2 miles north of the town of Ramsey. Of the 91 class A camp sites located in the White Oak section, approximately 40 of these sites are reservable. There also is one rental cabin in the park that enjoys a lake view. The one down side to the park is that there is only one camp shower/rest room building in the entire park, but water hydrants are located throughout the park. There also are two dump station located close to the main park entrance. The one hiking trail is 2 1/2 miles long, and quite hilly in spots. The Park also has an equestrian section, located in the Northern part of the park that has about 15 miles of wooded trails for the horse people. For Info Ramsey Lake State Park P.
