I live near here, FYI - This campground has been sold to Panduit Corporation(for the property, not the facility) and will be re-developed for office use. It closed permanently in November. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Way too overpriced!!!! Lousy sites, too much freeway noise, staff unfriendly, bathrooms located in old trailer and pay showers that are too tiny and ugly. Laundry room also in an old trailer. No wifi. Swimming area the only thing good about it. Will book a motel rather than ever stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We have a dually/36' high-profile fifth wheel. Our pull-through site was generous and easy to pull onto. Park had basic facilities, but is an excellent location for visiting Chicago City. Train station just 5 mins down road. Pay showers - didn't use. No WiFi on park, but used Library which is 5 mins down road. Extremely noisy ALL night from Interstate traffic, which is very close by. We are not light sleepers but still noticed the noise. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

All in all, not a bad park. It does have long term coaches on site and it is close to Interstate I-80 but not excessively noisy. Limited pull through sites and those don't have shade. All sites are gravel. Did not check out the "beach" nor the "lake" so cannot comment. Stayed a week because of it's proximity to Chicago and will return as needs call for it. Some people expect too much and are disappointed, so look at this place as what it is - an older campground that could be a lot better - but it still is serviceable for the short term. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The only thing that this park has going for it is the location. They are near Chicago. The water is horrible. (Iron filled,orange,and hard) Our fixtures turned orange. Incredibly noisy as it is right on the interstate and near a shooting range. The sites and roads are a veritable mudpit when it rains. The "lake" looks like a construction cut out. Very, Very overpriced for just a place to park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed there 4 times now. Only park near Chicago. It's very noisy all hours day and night. Trees are so close we could not get into our space. I reserved with credit card a particular space 2 months of time for a space I knew we'd fit our 38 ft. rig in without trees, etc. When I arrived they had given it away! They're excuse was there was a flood and they had to accomodate insurance adjusters! O.K., why couldn't they give them the rotten space 6" from the tree that they gave us? especially. when they had a 1984 Bounder! I wouldn't have been upset, but when I made the reservation, they said there would be no problem in getting this site. To make matters REALLY bad, there was a group (2 trailers) six drunks who built a campfire every evening while drinking and ho hahing and let it burn all night long....smouldering smoke for a week!! Yes, a WEEK. Everyone complained., as we were not the only people there. I was told: "Well, when they arrived they asked and were so nice, I told them they could". Great, everyone was choking from the smoke. The inside of our rigs smelled like we had a house fire! They wouldn't tell them to stop either!! I went out one night at 3:oo AM, over to their site, NO ONE WAS OUT by this FIRE @ 3 AM! NO ONE! They put uncut hardwood logs that were HUGE on this fire to burn smouldering all night, night after night for a week. That night at 3 AM I took a bucket of water and poured it on the fire. Peace. I should have called the fire department. Next time I will. Sadly we are stuck with only one campground in that area. If anyone has a better place to stay, Please, please let us know. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was OK. Next to a major freeway, little to recommend it other than it is closest to Chicago (where we needed to be). The "lake" is more like a pond. Dirt roads through the park. Some spaces looked as if people used the park for RV storage. If you are looking for things to do, this is not the place. If you are looking for a safe, clean park near the metropolitan Chicago area, I would definitely recommend it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I give it this much of a rating because it is close to the Metra to Chicago and the 50 amp power is good. The noise from I-80 is almost unbearable 24 hours a day. Everything is in disrepair. The beach is sand but the lake is a stagnant slough. A close by library has free wi-fi. Pay phone does not accept 1-800 calls and is going to be taken out soon anyway. Very overpriced. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground would have to be on the interstate to be any closer and there is no barrier at all so it is extremely noisy night and day. Although close to the train station, the ride into the city took almost an hour because of all the stops and the fare is $7.40 per person round trip. There are stores close by. The beach isn't much more than a swimming hole and is open to the public for a fee. Gravel sites but needs landscaping. Office help very nice. Would not stay here again because of constant traffic noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the closest in cgs to Chicago. A short ride to the train stop to the loop. "Lake" is a borrow pit for road construction with 3-4 back in sites with "lake view." CG is nearby to open air ampitheater - cg tent sites and overflow will be filled with partiers on concert weekends. Next to toll road and a lot of road noise. Laundry is dirty. Long pull thru sites easily handle 40' 5th and toter. Modem used to be on a pay phone in the rec. barn but has been moved to office where it will cost $1.00 for 5 minutes. For some reason the ownership does not want one to ride on the weeds when exiting the sites and has put a huge bolder right at the end of each site. Turn too tight and you will pay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Secure location very close to Chicago. 1/2 hour at most to the loop. Everything was clean and quiet, especially considering how close to I 80 the campground is. Fairly level gravel sites. A very nice place to stop for a few days in Chicago. We camped here in a camper.
