I must say that we pulled in and pulled right out!!! We lost $70 altogether, but it was worth it..we couldn't make it to the state park any quicker. What a dump!!!!! The playground looked like it was falling down. The site we were going to have was right underneath some huge electrical power lines and there was space available for tent campers to sleep within 20 feet behind our site!!!! Then the electrical hook up was in the very front of the site and the water was in the very back of the site. There was some crazy man chopping up firewood with his chainsaw (must have been his seasonal site) and a food stand that advertised their "10' long sausage". Oh and there was no way to move to another site because at 5:30 p.m. the only person available to talk to was the campground host...he himself couldn't even get hold of management to get us another site. And I must mention that on our site we had no picnic table and no fire pit. They may have a nice bluegrass festival, but as for camping, their grounds were run down and it was an all around dump!!!! Go to Brown County State Park if you want to go to Nashville!!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stay every year only during the Bluegrass Festival in June. I would never think of camping here any other time. Even thought the new owners have done a lot of the work on the place it is still not a place I would recommend for camping. During the Bluegrass Festivals the park is always overbooked and the electric voltage is low. Last summer they put in new 50 amp electric, but I don't know if it is in for all of the sites. The restrooms and showers are made out of semi truck trailers, something portable like at a fair. The drive into the park is very steep and you have to be very careful when pulling in or you will drag. Most of the lots are not level so you will need boards. They raise the rates every year to where they are now higher than most RV Resorts. The Bluegrass Museum is great. The only reason I keep coming back is for the Bluegrass. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

There are 400 primitive sites too. There were people camping with their horses when we were there. Fire pits. Flea Market April - October. Store. Cabin Rentals. Bluegrass Hall of Fame and Country Star Museum. Music festivals June - October. We lucked upon a Bluegrass Festival when we were there and it was included in the camping fee. The park is only 5 miles from Nashville and the many shops and art stores. Quiet. We camped here in a Motorhome.
