Typical state park but restored from flood. Electric only and was first rate. We were the only camper in the first loop. Quiet except for a low background noise from a quarry. Pit toilet. Worth the price for an overnight or even a couple of nights. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is located close to the Missouri River and to DeSoto Bend Wildlife Refuge. The Bertrand Museum (sunken paddleboat sternwheeler) is at the nearby Visitors Center. Campsites are spacious in a park with many tall cottonwood trees. Campground host was a volunteer and was very friendly and helpful. The Council Bluffs area is 20-25 miles away. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a good value state park that could get a higher rating with some modernizing. All roads are paved and in great shape. Most of the back in gravel sites are level and long enough to handle big rig vehicles. Each site has a table. Sites are wide enough for any number of slides. The trees in the park are very well trimmed. Most sites are satellite friendly. Only one loop has water, and it is community outlets. Modernizing would include putting water at the sites and adding some 50 amp power. We camped here in a Motorhome.
