I arrived after it had been abused and ransacked by the Labor Day weekend hoard so it was a bit worn. I am sure it looks nice most all of the year otherwise. It was nice and quiet with lots of shade. If you back in to spots, the electric is on the wrong side so be sure to have a real long cord as the power supply is out there a ways in some cases. Be sure to visit the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake where Buddy Holly played his last gig. We camped here in a Motorhome.
OK spot to camp. Weather was awful and so were the bugs, so my experience was altered. The site itself was nice and relatively level. There was a nice swing set for the kids in the center of the campground. The swimming area was OK in Clear Lake, but nothing to write home about. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Shady sites. Great boat ramp area. Be careful of severe shallow areas on the right or left of the launch area. Sites are not level. Dated. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We did not camp here but scouted the site for a future visit. This park is located on Clear Lake and includes a swimming area, fishing area, and boat launch, all within walking distance of the campground. The campsites have excellent tree cover and are widely spaced but shallow. Access roads are narrow. A 30' or 34' travel trailer will fit if maneuvered with skill and confidence. Most sites have electricity with a few having 30A service and the rest being 20A only. There are hydrants around the campground but not at each individual site. The sites here are nicer aesthetically than those at nearby Clear Lake State Park. However, Clear Lake State Park has larger parking pads and 50A electric. No dump station but there's one available at Clear Lake State Park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
