Lake La Cygne is the 2600 acre cooling pond for KCPL's La Cygne power station. About 1 mile off Hwy 69 an hour south of Kansas City. The park occupies the western side of the lake and its warmer waters are a year round fishing mecca. Most of the 23 full hookups sites are always occupied. We paid $12 for an e/w site which is a bargain so close to Kansas City. Roads are paved and fair, sites are gravel some being level, and the one bath house has seen better days. Constant noise from power plant and lots of powerboat noise in the early am. Most of campground sits between 2 hills so cellphone coverage is spotty. On air TV reception is poor. Wi-Fi is run by the phone company and although expensive at $10/day, appears good. Some sites drier than others in periods of rain. First come first serve, select site and pay at the marina when open. Overall not bad especially in these frugal times. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
