This is the worst place we've ever stayed in 12 years of RVing. It should be avoided at all costs. This is a very tired casino and the RV parking area is the least of their problems. The staff is rude, many of the slot machines barely work and management doesn't seem to care. The sites are so tight that if someone parks on both sides of you, it's impossible to put out any slides. With the noise of the train in front of you, the highway bridge above you and the employees coming and going in their cars all night around you, it's almost impossible to hear the garbage truck idling in reverse beside you for 20 minutes. Our main motivation for stopping here was to get a good meal with some wine in the hotel. Unfortunately, the only decent restaurant in the place is closed Monday and Tuesday. If you need a place to stay around here, go to the nearest WalMart parking lot. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a bad experience. We had a confirmation number for our RESERVATION. Got to the rv park in plenty of time (1 hour before check-in time), but NO spot for us for the night. Somehow the reservation department OVERBOOKED their "8" spots. They were all full. It was like a Seinfeld episode. They know how to "TAKE" the reservation, they just don't know how to "HOLD" the reservation. The "HOLDING" of the reservation is the important part of the reservation itself. The hotel did give me a hotel room for free for the night, but that meant we had to deal with our pet and, clothes, food. Shame on them. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Staying at this Casino was a horrible experience and not recommended. We phoned ahead and reserved a spot for $12 and they only have 8 sites that are not numbered. " Just pull in to an empty one and come in and register ". I was just going to unhook in site 5 when a guy with a truck camper drove up said I was in his spot which he had for 2 weeks. No way of knowing. The sites are just part of their regular parking lot that have an electrical service. No sewer,water or dumping station. If they were busy it would be difficult to maneuver around parked cars to get into these very small parking lanes they call RV sites. To make maters worse, the staff entrance was right next to the RV area which had people coming and going all night, some talking as loud as their loud cars. Yes- It gets worse!! There is a large bridge over Lake Charles and the Casino sits under it. The traffic noise is awful, but drowned out by the railway line that runs trains all night. Not to be totally negative, you can use all the Casino's facilities such as pool,spa, and weight room- which are impressive. There were lots of signs along the highway for First Class RV resorts associated with Casinos. This is NOT one and is only an electrical outlet in a cramped parking lot in a poor location. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Fortunately we had read that it was OK to rent 2 spots which allowed us to fit in the space without sticking out into the driveway and allowed us to open our slides. These are really built for 5th wheels and trailers with the other vehicle parked in the next lane of auto parking. Otherwise the place was very nice. We as RV guests had the same privileges as hotel guests. These included a great pool with water slide, and a very comfortable hot tub. Also the sauna in both men's and women's showers was a great treat, along with the full compliment of fresh towels and toiletries. We had a lovely dinner at the steak house located within the hotel, not only great food, but the leftover's lasted for two more meals. Now, if the slots in the riverboats had just been loose. There was no trash receptacles or recycling available to the RV sites. All in all, it's a great easy on easy off spot to spend a night or two. If the electric spots are full or you don't want to squeeze in, there was plenty of dry camping space. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The casino took a section of the parking lot and put in 10 side-by-side hookups. If someone had been on either side of us, we would not have been able to put out our slides. Maneuvering through the parking lot is not easy. Big rigs may have some trouble with that. The parking lot is well lit, but there is a lot of noise from casino traffic and the nearby I-10 bridge. We were given key cards to access the health club in the hotel where there were restrooms and showers. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It is a parking lot, with hook-ups. They only charge $5, so I got two adjoining sites, so I could open all four slides. Right off the interstate (I-10), under the bridge, and only a 50 yard walk to the casino/restaurants/bathrooms of the old Isle of Capri Casino. Not camping and not luxury, but convenient and cheap! Security is provided, but watch driving the big rig in and out; could be tricky. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is not on our list of "will visit again" for sure. There were some pros. Full hookup, laundromat, convenience store. The cons were the fact that the place was filthy. The laundromat was so bad I wouldn't even go inside, and I didn't even BOTHER checking out the bathrooms. The employees inside the on-site store were also filthy: dirty clothes, dirty hands, etc. YUCK! This place made a very poor impression, and I'd have to say it was the nastiest park we've ever been to! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were in site 109. It's a level, concrete site with water and electric only. No sewer, wi-fi, or cable TV. Good TV reception over the air though. The RV park is just a parking lot, and they let trucks park there for free. So there was plenty of truck engine noise at night. Construction is going on, and it started up early in the morning. It's just a place to park, and for $40, it's not worth it. We will not go back again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Perfect park for passing through. We didn't need to unhook and just walked to the casino for dinner. The check-in was complicated. We were told to pull up front to go to register, but there wasn't any place to park. No amenities, but we didn't need any. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I gave it a 9 for ease of entry and use. Yes, it is a parking lot, but it is a clean and level one that is easy to get in and out of. All back ins and if you do not want power you can park on outer fences for free. Just drive in, pick a site, and go pay front desk. When I was there the metal pipes blocking sites were not locked so just move them and back in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a paved parking lot with concrete pads and all back ins. Commercial trucks also park on the perimeter. No attendant. No sewer(there is a dump station on property), Wi-Fi, cable TV, baths or washers. They provide 30/50 amps, water and a part-timer golf cart shuttle to casino/hotel if you can walk 1/2 block. You can use hotel facilities, pool, beach, restaurants, etc. Next time we will go to the better priced, 5-Star RV park in Kinder, LA. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not very beautiful view but close to the casino which is the only attraction here except for the good golf course (not great course) next to the park. Sewer dump is not a problem if you are just here for a couple of days. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy to find. Casino is huge, and you can see it from all bridges, and street signs are well marked. Looked like part of a parking lot converted to RV parking. Very well lighted and easy short walk distance to casino, but valet in golf cart will come pick you up if needed. Dump station facilities on property. Can use all hotel facilities. Suggest you call ahead for a weekend spot. We parked on north side by the golf club so to not face sun. Casino constructing a man made beach area. Great sunsets. Restaurants were good and very reasonable. Beautiful grounds. Register in hotel and tell them which number you are in. Very clean. No shade. Would definitely stay there again in RV lot. We have stayed in hotel before. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay at the Casino RV Park. There are 15 sites, all concrete with concrete patios. The sites were big enough for our 43 foot motorhome and had grassy areas which our dog was happy about! There is no pool or other facilities, but you can use the facilities at the casino, which are very nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a parking area for RV's at the L'auberge Du Lac Casino in Lake Charles. The sites are back-ins with concrete pads, surrounded by grass. They have electric and water hook-ups, but no sewer connection. A dump station is on site. We were passing through the area on Interstate 10 and found this to be a good overnight stop. The casino offers several restaurants and a buffet. There is also a nice pool area at the hotel. The casino is very nice. This is nothing fancy, but they have done a nice job of creating a decent RV parking area at a casino that is a step above boondocking. It was very quiet here and appeared to be very safe with security making the rounds through the area. We'll definitely stay here again when passing through the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Parkside is located approximately 1 mile from the entrance to Sam Houston Jones State park. They advertise restroom facilities, I guess you could call it an outhouse that has not been cleaned in months. They do not have sewer hookups, but some the the RV's here were just emptying there tanks on the ground, or in the river!!! Also the employees are very rude and some are very DRUNK. The electrical hookups for the RV's work some of the time! I would not recommend anyone staying at this place. It is definitely not a family atmosphere! I recommend either Jean Laffite RV park or Sam Houston Jones State Park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The nightly rate reflects a new walk-up service charge (but if you use the internet, you also pay the service charge). The campground is next to a swamp with an alligator warning, so beware if you have pets or small children. The restrooms are badly in need of an update. You must hold the water lever in to keep water flowing in the shower. Site hook-ups were good. We would return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The state park itself is very nice with a couple of trails which are suitable for hiking as well as biking. However, the camping sites are not very well laid out, too close together and little privacy. Try to stay away from site number CI001 as far as possible because this is where the below mentioned noisy pump is located. Very family friendly park, and the kids I've seen seemed to have enjoyed their stay very much. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

Even for a quick overnight, we found their site was poor. It was not level, offered no privacy and was next to a "portable" that served as the washroom/shower. The path to the washroom was muddy so it's not surprising that the it was difficult to keep the washroom floor clean. Part of the park has better sites (our friends stayed there) but it's not the best campground experience for sure despite a lovely scenic forest setting nearby. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park. We stayed 2 weeks. It gets very busy on the weekend, but noise level not a problem. Spaces are not very far apart so it's quite crowded feeling when the park is full. Laundry free and well maintained. WiFi in park, free and worked well. Most of the sites did not have sewer on site, but dump was close by. Verizon worked very well there. Shopping and services reasonably near by. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Loop A is over-crowded with sites being very close together and generally not very deep. It appears that the most popular communal activity is watching, and sometimes assisting, new arrivals attempting to back their rigs into these ridiculously small sites. The RV sites in loop B are slightly less crammed together, however, both loops are more typical of what you would find in a private campground rather than in a state park. The campground offers free slow Wi-Fi, free laundry in loop B, and hot showers in both loops. As evidenced by the number of RV’s using leveling blocks and ramps, many sites are in serious need of resurfacing. Also, drainage from many sites is a major issue. If it rains overnight, do not be surprised if you wake in the morning to find your site completely submerged. Road surfaces in the park are excellent, however, the roads in the campground are in poor condition. Sites are $24 through Reserve America, which includes their $6 processing fee. There are five short easy hiking trails (< 1.5 miles) and one 4-mile trail. Fishing, kayaking/canoeing are possible in the park on the Calcasieu River. This is a lovely state park, however, the campground is the worst that I have stayed at in my 3 months of traveling through the Southern United States. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects Golden Age discount (for previous review, they still recognize it, but you have to be a Louisiana resident to use Golden Age discount in LA). This was for a full hook up site. Internet works great, good for walking, biking, great trails. Beautiful park, friendly staff. Plenty of deer, squirrel. Only change I noticed from last review, they removed the trashcans from the campsites and went to a dumpster. Which is fine, but there is one in area 2, and one in the cabin area. Nothing for camp area 1. So you either trek up the hill to the cabins or about a mile to area 2. Seems odd but we made do and still enjoyed the scenic beauty of this park. Park is very quiet during the week. Pretty busy on weekends with local campers, but rangers patrol frequently and everyone seemed to obey most rules. We would absolutely visit here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

LA no longer honors Golden Age/Senior Pass. Our fee was $16 for the W/E site and $6 "reservation fee." We were a walk in and they still charged us the $6 reservation fee. The CG is nice but no extra amenities and not worth $22 a night. We will not stay another night here or in any other LA state park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed camping here. There are two separate camping areas in this park, we camped in site #33 in Area 2. Sites were fairly close together, but the park was empty enough for privacy. Great overall layout with a loop road through the entire park. Lots of deer! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Had a nice pull through site. On a river which my husband enjoyed for fishing. Scenic bayou with nice woods and trails for walking and biking and bird watching. Saw several deer too.. Near town so must get a lot of day visitors. Sadly saw a lot of empty bottles and cans in the inner ponds. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A great campground. It's actually closer to Moss Bluff, LA. The road into and in the park is very narrow with some serious curves near the entrance. I took it slowly and had no problem with our 31 footer and toad. The site, number 38, leans a bit, but not enough to need blocking. We're very close to the laundry. This is an unusual thing in a State Campground, but a good thing. The internet signal is strong, but the whole internet thing is odd. I received two emails, so far, that had links to sites. The Louisiana State apparently didn't want me to go there, since access was denied without some unknown password. New to me and odd, to say the least. The staff person was friendly and the area is truly beautiful. Nice trail along the river and various new wildlife i.e. armadillos. Close enough to town for shopping and dining. We'll be here three days, but, so far so good. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is quite close to Lake Charles, but is delightfully remote in spite of that. The campground is along the Calcasieu River with a large pond (bayou?) on the other side. Plenty of alligators, deer, and other wildlife abound in this refuge. Most of the sites were back-in, paved, with a few pull-through with sewers. The park has some very nice trails suitable for walking or mountain biking. One drawback to the park is the nearly constant drone from the power plant a mile or two downstream from the park. We were there on a nice weekend (nearly full) and during the week (many empty sites) so experienced the range of occupancies. The park is popular for day visitors, but everyone was comfortably accommodated. We used the site as a base to visit a couple of wildlife refuges and found it good for that purpose. Price shown does not include a $6 reservation fee that is charged even if walking up. We'd stay here again in spite of that minor annoyance. We camped here in a Motorhome.

From the other reviews we thought we'd really like this park, but found the campsites crowded together. We have a 20 foot travel trailer with a small slide out, and it was right on the edge of the campsite next door. Other sections of the campground may be better but it was winter and they weren't open. Even in winter, was crowded on a weekend. They don't have doggie bags like parks in some of the other states we've visited, and it showed with a lot more dog waste that had not been picked up. We'd planned to stay longer, but moved on after one night and would probably not return here. Fee does not include the $6 reservation fee. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Premium site rate with sewer hook-ups. I like this park although not crazy about the site i booked over the internet, had this park been busy i would have been miserable. We had a pull through site on the outer loop which was right in front of the dump station, had it been busy, motorhomes would have came within four feet of my front door, but oh well keep it in my memory library for next time. This park is one of my favorites for wild life and just the general camping experience. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A very nice park. I love the shower room. It's your own bathroom and shower all in one at the old camp site part. I can see how some sites are far from hook ups but most aren't. There is good bike riding, good trails and cool wildlife. Please bring some cat food to feed the 2 sweetest kitties by the old nature center. Someone must have left them, but they need food. I would definitely recommend this place. I stayed an extra day, just because. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you can get parked in your site and if you have long enough electric cords and water hose, this is a pretty good park. We enjoyed our stay, but trees close to the roadway made backing in difficult. We had to use 2 full hoses to reach the water hook-up. The restrooms were clean and the park grounds were beautiful. Would have rated it 10 if all sites had sewer hookups. Great state park and price is with Golden Access pass. Has nice hiking trails, biking trails and bird watching. Some sites can be tight because of trees at the pad entrance. Make sure you check the pad length when making reservations for big rigs. Would definitely come back here again. It's true that some of the utility hook ups aren't perfectly located, but this is common in older parks around the country. Long-time RVer's generally carry extra water hoses and extension cords so this really shouldn't be a problem for most. The parks beauty more than offsets any small issues about where an electrical hook up is. WiFi is excellent. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a tough park for most large RV units to get in and out of. Park has two campgrounds. Camping #1 has 15 tent sites and 22 RV sites. Roads and sites are all gravel. Hookups are all over the map here and most are in the wrong place. You have power and water in center front for two sites, Person in right side will need a long power cable and water hose. Some sites have sewer and that is on wrong side and in rear of site. The sites are set on a cypress swamp. Camping # 2 has 37 sites and are a little better but not much. Roads and sites are asphalt . Sites have table, fire ring, close to level and some had sewer drops in wrong place as well. Power and water were way off on most sites and a small number were in correct place. Angles on sites to road were a problem as well. Trees, trash cans and post close to road all make a mess out of moving in and out of your site. You can damage a large motorhome here if you make any mistakes. On the good side park is beautiful to look at and be in. The cypress swamp has tables on the river next to swamp and walking path all over the place. Bikes work well here. Fishing would be good here. Bathhouse was clean, you have lots of playground equipment for the kids, Wi-Fi was free and worked well and trees keep this place cool. Verizon cell and air card worked well. Sat. dish on the ground may work if you can find a hole in trees. TV over the air picked up a number of channels. Gates are locked at night. Rates were on Golden Age card. Bottom line come here in a small unit and have long power cables and water hoses and enjoy the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a gorgeous and fun state park! You do have to be careful with communications and reserving a spot if you have a big rig like ours (40' motorhome). We were warned to book ahead and we did. I called the park office to get help on reserving a full hook-up site that we could fit into. I thought I had done that, but some miscommunication must've taken place at some point. We fit fine but didn't have sewer hook-up. And from reading other reviews, that might have been for the best as the full hook-up spots sound like they have other issues. We did have to go dump once to finish out our 5-night stay, but other than that, we had a great space. This is a very popular park, especially on weekends. Great for biking, both on the park roads and also on the easy dirt trails. Never saw any gators ?? Folks feed the deer and raccoons near one of the trailheads around 6-7pm (photo op!). This is now on my Favorite State Parks list: we enjoyed our stay here so much! (Would be a 10 if there were easy, full hook-ups.) Rate was based on Golden Age Passport: how can you beat that price?!! When I called, she said "Oh, I have a great spot on the Lake" and I said, "I'll take it." The rest just got better... This is a very cool camping spot. Nice facilities and great staff. They have a large pond with turtles, lots of scenic trails, bridges, boat rentals, and fishing spots galore. The ranger that feeds the animals (7:30 am) tossed some feed around us on our morning walk, so the animals would come close. Made for good photos! Our site (#17) was right on the lake, luckily the Gators were hibernating so we didn't have to worry about our bumper being beautifully close to the waters edge. There is plenty of wildlife to see, deer, birds, ducks, wild pigs and raccoons. We'll be back. It was great all the way around. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground was full due to Mardi Gras. This led to some pretty crowded conditions. There had also been a lot of rain which led to some standing water. Otherwise the campground is pretty nice. It is close to all kinds of shopping, but feels isolated. It is also convenient to the interstate. Staff were friendly. We would stay here again. The price was with senior discount. Senior rate, very good value for a 50 amp, water and Wi-Fi back in site. Bath house was extremely clean. Beware the pull through sites (premium) at this park. There are two camping areas, 1 and 2. Area 2 has 4 pull through sites, they are actually double sites, 20' wide, split down the middle with a white line. Straight out of a KOA horror movie. You need to get both sites to be OK. Area 1 has no official pull throughs, but has some end to end sites that might act like one for shorter rigs. If towing you would have to unhook to free up the other site. Highly recommend calling for info on sites before booking. Per earlier reviews some sites have serious tree issues for larger units / slides. But overall there are plenty of sites that are very nice. We would come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Louisiana State Parks honor the Senior Pass issued by the National Park Service to those U.S. Citizens 62 years old so we were able to stay in this park for $9.00 a night - wonderful! The park is very nice and has all paved streets as well as paved campsites along with a choice of either 30 or 30 amp electric power. There's no additional charge for 50 amp electric!!! Getting to the park from I-10 takes about 25 minutes and passes through some busy urban area. The host staff is very cordial and helpful. The park is rustic and very beautiful. Access to water related activities is handy to the camp sites. Satellite TV access is good this time of year since there are no leaves on the trees. Verizon Cell Phone and Internet Air Card access is excellent! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice state park. Great place for the kids to play, ride bikes, and just have a good time. WI-FI works great. Very clean bathroom and showers. Only downfall to the showers was the need to keep pressing the shower to keep the water coming out. The sites are closer together than the other state parks we have stayed in Louisiana, but still nice. Also, don't leave any food out. Even though we put our trash in the provided trash cans with the heavy wood covers, the raccoons still were able to topple it over and go to town and make a ton of noise. But hey that is what it is all about. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

What a beautiful park! Friendly and helpful staff in a unique setting: a combination of river and cypress swamp. It rained while we were here, but the site drained very well, and it proved to be no problem. It is quiet at night, well away from highway noise. The huge trees could pose a problem for opening slide-outs on some rigs; I would check my site carefully before reserving it. The amenities of Lake Charles are nearby. Signage makes it easy to get to from I-10. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed our stay at this park. The employees at the park were very helpful. From I-10, the park is easy to find by following the signs. The only negative to the park are the trees surrounding our campsite. They made it impossible to open some of the bay doors. We also could not use our awning due to these trees. Direct TV satellite will not work due to the trees. The W-Fi in the park was very easy to access and reliable. We stayed in site number 42. We used our Golden Age Senior Pass and received a 50% discount off the regular rate of $18 per night. Wildlife in the park is very tame: numerous deer, squirrels and raccoons. There is a dedicated wildlife area where the wildlife congregate daily; however, they are seen through out the park. There is a Wal-Mart approximately 6 miles from the park. There is a small convenience store less then a mile from the park. We ate at Hollier's Cajun Kitchen in Sulphur, Louisiana. If in the area, we would stay at this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. The $9 fee is with the Golden Age Passport; otherwise $18 a night for a Premium site. HOWEVER, be aware that not all premium sites have sewer as implied on their website! I reserved a premium pull-thru (#24) and it did not have sewer. Only sites #1, #5 and #6 are pull-thru with sewer. 13 of the back-in sites have sewer but some of them might a bit tight to get into with a large rig due to trees. There is a dump station at each of the camping sections but much as I like this park, we may not stay as long as we had wished because I don't feel like going through the take-down, dump, set-up again routine. The campground loop road is 1.5 miles, perfect distance for bicycling or walking. They also have several trails through the woods that are marked and indicate distances along each one. Be sure to wear bug screen though as the deer flies do bite! Areas around the ponds are very noisy at night with frogs and other night critters singing their songs. Really neat. There is Wi-Fi for an additional one time fee of $3.00 and works great! We would most definitely stop here again but will make sure we get site #5 or #6! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park with very nice personnel. We received a 50% discount for having a Golden Age pass. Lots of deer roaming around, and a beautiful lake just a few yards away. The pull-through sites are somewhat odd; they're long, with one site being in front and the other directly behind. Seems to work OK. We had site #1 and there was a large fenced-in machine of some kind, about 50 yards from us. I don't know what it's job was, but it ran most of the time and was rather noisy, but not too bad. Great park with wonderful views, good hiking trails and lots of places for bicycle riding. No wireless internet was available when we stayed here, but our Verizon Wireless worked well. Our site had full hookups, no sewer sites were also available for $2 cheaper. Staff was friendly, a ranger was around hourly for security. The only problem was that our site, #11, was extremely small with inconveniently placed trees. We were able to wiggle in our small travel trailer, but any bigger rig would have a lot of trouble. Additionally, hookups were on the wrong side of the trailer which required extra hosing. As long as you don't stay in that particular site, I definitely recommend this park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We loved this park. It is kept immaculate. The park rangers are constantly patroling the area, empting the trash cans and doing maintenance work. To make things even better, they accept the Golden Age Pass so the usual $18 fee was only $9.00. This is a nice place to just sit back, relax and enjoy nature. Very nice park. The park ranger was always roaming the park (in a truck). Play park for kids was nice. Very quiet and peaceful. Some sites were pretty close together. Site #1 is where I stayed and it was definitely the best site there. It was a Pull through with water and sewer. Many of the other sites are configured to house 2 rv's (both rv's backup back-end to back-end.) Didn't see any alligators, but they say they're there... We stayed in this park for 4 nights while in Lake Charles on business. This park is a real treasure in the Lake Charles area. convenient to most things, yet it's very large and makes you feel like you are away from it all. Hurricane Repairs are still underway and much of the park is closed. However, there are still lots of trees & shade. No pool, but there is lots of wildlife considering where you are... deer, coons, alligators etc. Lots of room to bike ride or go for walks. Nice playground area for kids. Only real negative is that the sites can be tight to get into for a large RV. Our 30ft toyhauler was pretty tight to maneuver. Also, utility connections can be a real pain. Sewer hose will have to run under the RV at many sites. You could also may need extended power cords & water hoses. If you need to a place to stay in Lake Charles, it's worth a stop for sure... In fact, it's worth a visit if the opportunity arises. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Park police was overbearing on everyone. He wanted to make sure you knew he was in charge
and what the rules were. No exceptions. Park is clean and nice. Some spots are very close together, and some are very hard to get into. Larger rigs over
30' would have some problems. Campground is located on the river but the park will not allow any swimming in the river. There is a boat launch there.

Not a good park for snowbirds. No activities and clubhouse is in with office. No privacy to socialize with friends; clubhouse is cluttered with all these places to sit, but too much cheap decorations so it is uninviting. Complaints about break ins, dogs left unattended, barking dogs, pet park under water due to low land, no poop bags most of time so we used our own. Owner is very nice, but manager has problems. When raining sites have a low spot that holds water. I would recommend for overnight stops only or working men! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The park has a significant amount of full timers that are working in the area. It is walking distance to a WalMart Supercenter. This is not a fancy park but the staff are so warm and welcoming we liked staying here for the night. We stayed here in a 36' Meridian Itasca and had a tow car. It was rough pavement getting in and out with cracked pavement on 80% of the sites. That being said, they were level and nothing that made the stay difficult. In fact, the long term campers/workers and the owner and his staff were superior in their PR. Fresh coffee and donuts available in the very friendly clubhouse with an inviting corner fireplace and 60" television screen. Great dog run with agility equipment, but after a few days of heavy rain, we didn't use it because of the large puddles. We would stay here again. Excellent Wi-Fi and cable and you can't beat the hospitality. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Am I the only one who noticed that this park is a joke? The electric, water and sewer hookups are on the wrong side in many sites. Add to this, they are way to far away from the site to be convenient. I found most sites very small for most of today's rigs. It is anything but easy to enter unless you are pulling a 16 foot unit. I feel this is a park that could have been good, but isn't. They have tried to make an RV park out of a trailer park but are cutting too many corners trying to cram more units into the space than there should be. Be aware that their ad is very misleading. A fine stay for most sized rigs, however, I believe they are a bit embellishing their "big rig" friendliness. It is not a friendly layout to get a dual rear axle coach plus toad parked. We chose this park based on previous reviews on this site and the relative easy off/on access to I-10. Our biggest problem was the turn into the park had a small sign, which we finally saw as we went by the turn. The spaces are close together, but not packed in like sardines. There are concrete pads in each space. Management and staff are very helpful with information on local area attractions. The WiFi and cable tv worked excellent. The tv channel selection was extensive. The bathrooms and showers were well maintained. The shower stalls have good room for changing, but there was only one shower/bathroom each for men or woman. The nightly rate ($31.50) was with a 10% Good Sam discount and taxes added. We would stay here again if we visited the Lake Charles area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived at this location fairly late at night (10:30PM). That said, we were still shown to our pull-through site by the maintenance and landscaping man. He was very friendly and told us we could pay the following morning. The park was very clean and quiet. The restroom was quite clean and showers were great. The staff was pleasant, friendly and helpful. The site was wide and long enough for our 33' coach and TOAD. We will definitely stop here again if it works out in our travel schedule! We just spent 5 months here for the winter. It is a great place to stay for overnight or long term. Lots of the residents are workers and everyone was friendly and quiet. The owners had several complimentary Cajun food days. It was delicious. All of the hookups were good. Wi-Fi was hit and miss at times but strong and fast when up. Cable TV was good. The area is one of the most friendly we have been to. I highly recommend this park. If it had a pool and activities it would have been a 10 for us. Nice area and good people. We spent two nights here with our 150 lb Leonberger, getting (literally) the last spot available. Jennifer, Tom, and their staff were wonderful and hospitable, helping us with information, directions, and whatever else we needed. The park seems a mix of full time residents and those 'passing through'. All the facilities, including the fenced in pet area, were as advertised and the WiFi was excellent for us. Well maintained campground. Level sites, all utilities worked well. No cable TV, but local channels came in fine on an antenna. Wi-Fi worked well. Very friendly and helpful owners are working very hard to get park in order. Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Friendly hosts who left a light on for us because we arrived late. Easy to get to the park from I-10 and very peaceful. Concrete sites and a great dog park. We will stay here again. Only negative would be the showers could use a little scrubbing. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

Great park. New. For others wanting to create an RV park - take a look at this one and make a copy. Well done owners. The only thing missing is picnic tables at site, but I'm sure they are on the shopping list. Dog Park is the "Rolls Royce" of parks. Even has a pool and training equipment for dogs, all fenced. Great bathrooms - spotless. Big Friendly welcome. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This little park is doing it right. Nice level concrete pads, soft lighting and clean area all the way around. Wonderful staff. Having only been open since February this year, they are going to be a great stop for anyone visiting the Gulf Coast area. All my best to them! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is fairly new, opening in February. The sites are level concrete pads. Green grass and well lit at night. The park is located away from the highway and is quiet. There’s plenty of shopping nearby at Wal-Mart. You feel welcomed from the minute you arrive. Looking for sights and things to do in Lake Charles, The staff can give you all kinds of information. They told us about a little honky-tonk just up the road called Grainger’s. Not much to look at from the road, but once inside, a warm friendly atmosphere. The best gumbo and potato salad in Lake Charles. That’s a must stop when you’re in Lake Charles. We will definitely stay at Twelve Oaks again when we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

2 Restrooms & Showers clean includes shampoo and soap. Sites were level with cement surface. Mostly back in with one row of pull thrus with level sites. Park roads are paved. Turns are a little tight for bigger rigs but it is doable. Park is a work in progress but what is done is done nice. The work continues but does not interfere with other things. Park is a quiet park. Internet owners is continuing to make improvements and friendly. Stayed one night passing through but would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Former Mobile Home Park which the owner has turned into an RV Park. All brand new electric, water, and sewer hook-ups and new concrete pads. Roads are a bit narrow, but there is nothing to hit if you make a turn a bit to sharp. This is a good spot for overnighting (close to I-10) or a longer stay exploring the area. Owner is on site and very congenial. We had no problem getting in with our 40' rig, and would stay again when traveling through this area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an old park that they are renovating. They are using old concrete and adding new which makes it rather rough. It is very tight and while it will accommodate a 40' rig, it's only because it's empty and you can take up several spots while swinging to get in. They've also installed lamps that are difficult to avoid with slides. It is priced right though and there is nothing else in Lake Charles. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was an old mobile home park that was destroyed during Katrina. The owner (an RVer) bought the property & is building a new RV park. The park just opened recently & there is construction still on-going but it is shaping up very nicely. The spaces are very large with very good lighting & concrete pads. I think the daily fees are a bit high but the weekly & monthly rates are very fair. At present there are 6 large pull-throughs & about 30 large back-ins. Just 1.5 miles off I-10, easy to find. Very close to shopping, Wal-Mart, etc. Ask about Grangers, best gumbo & potato salad we have eaten for a while. It is a Good Sam & FMCA park. We camped here in a 40' RV with a towed car, and there was plenty of room to park both on our pull-through site. Plan to come back in the fall for at least a two week stay. Would of rated it higher but there is on-going construction, I'm sure it will be a 10 rated park soon We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here as an overnight pit-stop knowing the park was still under construction. When finished it will be top-notch, but right now there is work and construction going on. We had our own private lamppost at our site... as did all others. The owner was on-site and was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Walmart was close by. Would like to return when it is complete. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park with awesome staff. Lake was oddly clear and quite pretty. Large bass can be seen swimming in their catch and release pond. Negatives are the gravel sites/roads and fairly close sites, but not intrusively close. Wide enough for all slides and awnings. Good family fun and nice activities on weekend for children. We would stay again. Site 13 is larger and close to the front. Campfires welcome. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

When we stayed at this park it was off season so the office was closed most of the time and the pool and water park were closed. However, the RV park itself was very nice with large trees, large grassy areas and very quiet even though there were very many transit workers there. The folks we did meet were very friendly and we even got our hot water heater fixed by an RV mechanic working on another unit. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent two nights at this park and found it to be very quiet here. The park was nearly deserted, about six full timers in backin sites off to the side and only two other travelers the first night. The second night only one other traveler pulled in. The park was clean and neat. The water park area wasn't open yet so we don't know what that was like. We would stay here again if traveling in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent father's day weekend at Yogi Bear. It was awesome, to pay one price and do anything you want as many times as you want. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the events that were planned were awesome. Nice clean restrooms, swimming pool, and water play area for the little ones. My 4 year old and I went on hayrides each day and spent the rest of the time doing things in the park. We have already made reservations for 2 more trips to Yogi Bear. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If you’re arriving at night, watch carefully for the entrance, we passed it by 30 feet and had to back up. Very peaceful. Gravel/grass sites with picnic table. Site was long enough for our rig but the sewer hose would not reach. Very weak AT&T connection. No Wi-Fi. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I am glad we didn't pay much attention to the hateful reviews, some goofy people write. The wife and I stayed in this campground for a week. It is a beautiful place. The grounds are well manicured. The bathrooms, though a little far from the camping area, are kept extremely clean, and smell great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a real campground, very rustic, and quite peaceful. The sites are very wide and can accommodate the largest RV with a pull vehicle. There is plenty of family activities. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Wow! Where to begin??? I was very hesitant to even stop at this campground because of the previous reviews. On our way to Texas to pick up our new 5th wheel, we stopped by to check it out. The staff was so helpful and the place was super clean and not muddy! Booked a reservation for that night and took off for TX to get our 5th wheel. Got back to park at about 6 or so and spent a quiet night on our giant pull through slot (13). The next day we enjoyed 2 hay rides, rode the canoes and paddle boats, played mini-golf and, of course, spent the rest of the day at the amazing sprayground/ water slide/ 3 foot pool. Everyone there was so helpful. The bathrooms and showers were immaculate. We were so pleased with everything that we decided to stay another night! This trip just could not have been any better. We can't wait to get back to Lake Charles to visit Jellystone again!!! Don't be afraid to check it out for yourselves. It's very easy to get to from I-10 (exit 36, Cameron) and I know you'll be as happy as we were here! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Upon arriving at this rv park, we thought it was going to be great. The staff at the Ranger Station was very nice and helpful. The restrooms could have used at little more TLC. There were many small "potholes" all along the entrance and access roads. The sites would flood when it rained, they needed to be built up. They need new paddle boats, but the canoes were o.k. We paid the extra $20 a night for our kids to have full access, but it was unnecessary on our part. Our kids wanted to stay at the water zone the entire time, which was fantastic. The Mini golf course was soggy due to all the rain. The main pool was o.k. The Karaoke was very loud one night with a lot of drinking going on until 11p.m. The owners need to re-invest some money back into the park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Had a wonderful time this past weekend at this park. Staff very nice and keeps everyone informed of the many events going on. Kids loved the paddle boats and the water park. Excellent park for young children. Very quiet at night. Camp fires are allowed! We will be back again! And will be singing again on Luke Powers Road after Mid-night. "Salt, Salt, Salt" Love that! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this campground in 2008 overnight only and it was OK. However, this year we stayed for 8 nights and were very dissatisfied with many things. When it rains, the grounds are flooded (holes, mud, standing water). Also the staff was very rude. They failed to give us the Good Sam rate and it was a 45 min. ordeal to get reimbursed since they said they do not give refunds. We had reserved as Good Sam and also shown our card at check in so it was THEIR ERROR NOT OURS! They also charge extra for everything! Our family visiting had to pay every day just to come to our site! Visitors can't even use the pool! Also everyone has to wear colored wrist bands. We are easy going people who look for the good and there isn't anything good to say about this park! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The pull-thru sites that we always use are wide and long enough and are fairly level. Roads and sites are gravel. The campgrounds caters to families and has much to offer during the summer--planned activities, swimming pool and water zone, pond, nature trails. We like to take our grandchildren here for a few days each summer. The staff is friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are too close together. The roads are packed dirt, but were a muddy mess when we were there. Apparently it had rained hard a day or two before we arrived. There are many activities for children. Seems like more of a summer place. Just a short distance from highway and was very quiet. More of a rustic park, but OK for overnight.
