We actually ended up not staying here. We couldn't believe our eyes. We went through this cattle trail back to a pasture and out in the middle is random rv hookups. The tenants staying their looked as if they were long term with everything they owned with them. It didn't look too safe so we moved on down the road. Just wasn't a well thought out park at all. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I used map quest to locate this park and the directions took us about 13 miles south of their location. It was late evening and the manager was very happy to give us the correct location and guide us in. The park is small with many full timers in residence who are friendly. The sites are gravel and not level. They have a small laundry room. No shower and bathroom facilities. We stayed a week and have been back for overnights a couple times. There are small IGA's nearby, but major shopping is several miles away. If your looking for a quiet, friendly place just to get away, this is it. Also if you like cocktail hour, bring your own as this is another dry county. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We came to area to attend a funeral and went to 5 RV parks before finding Rolling Hills. This park is well managed, clean, spacious, and has free cable TV. No other park in the area had cable TV, nor did they feel safe. The manager and staff were so nice and helpful. Don't waste your time with other parks in the Alexandria area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We knew coming in that this place wasn't a "resort" by any stretch, but our fairly low expectations were not even met. We were just looking for a decent place to park for a few nights while visiting family in the area. Most of the park is occupied by transient workers living out of their trailers or rental units on the property, with only a couple of spaces for over nighters. Sites are gravel and close together with a narrow strip of grass between. No tables, fire pits, or shade. Our site had low water pressure (about 20 psi) and several active ant mounds on the gravel pad. The manager leveled the mound right outside our door and sprayed it with something, but they just resurfaced elsewhere. A pretty miserable place, fortunately we didn't spend much time there except to sleep. We won't be staying here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
