This campground is shoe horned into the steep terrain around an abandoned granite quarry. The sites are small and very difficult to manuever in and out of. About 50% of the terrain is only suitable for tenting. The restrooms were unheated, cramped and filthy. There are no campground services available. However, for the adult camper without children, it is on the QUIET side of the island and the view of Somes Sound is absolutely breathtaking. If you are a self contained traveler, good at squeezing into small sites and want a quiet, spectacular view, this CG is for you. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is located 20 mins away from Bar Harbour and Acadia National Park. It's a small park, with medium sized wooded lots. Most overlook the Sound! Showers are coin operated and very clean. This park is a real gem in the rough! We camped here in a camper.
