The previous poster did not stay at Orr's in 2008! Currently, only two back-in sites are rented non-seasonal (weekly only) - both have direct ocean views and easy parking for appropriate, allowed rigs. Being on an island in the ocean, AC is rarely used - this year, temps haven't exceeded the low 80's in daytime and low 70's at night. The very long private campground beach is pebbles and sand - there is a swimming float and dock. The "feel" is more like 1950's that modern resort "camping" - and people expecting more will be happier elsewhere. I suggest using GOOGLE Map, Satellite Image for a better idea. Pictures on the campground website are (unusual for such a venue) completely accurate - not carefully picked shots! The island itself is amazing - barely any traffic - no lines for anything - it's as it was when I visited as a child many decades ago! If you can get a site - put up with the oddities of the place, and you'll never forget the experience! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground has some of the prettiest views we have seen, however it is completely antiquated, and overgrown. The childrens playground is on top of the leeching field for the sewer system and adjacent to a huge trash pile. The electric will not support a/c, or the use of space heaters. All bathrooms have been closed and emit a disgusting odor. We had to have people move their cars so we could pull down the main road. The owners were not helpful at all, and in fact complained about people using too much water, electric, trimming the shrubs.and having campfires. Be aware that you have to cut and trim your own site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a rustic campground, not an RV resort, in a beautiful oceanfront setting. Pros: ocean view, quiet, price, water/electric/sewer. Cons: low electric voltage (a/c and electric heaters not allowed) and difficult to run appliances, rough/muddy interior roads, overgrown vegetation on sites and roads, old bathrooms, mostly seasonal, utilities set up for back-in, not pull-in which is best for views in a motorhome. We had one of the 7 transient sites on the north bluff with a good water view. Some of these sites could have a good view, but don't, since the vegetation is overgrown. Owners are very pleasant and helpful, but I wish they would invest more energy in cutting back trees and vegetation, adding a lot of gravel to roads and sites to cut down mud, and update the electric to 30 amps with a steady 115 volts even under load in the morning and evening. Bring your bug spray if you like to sit outside - heavy vegetation makes for plenty of flies and mosquitoes. In spite of all my negative comments we will attempt to return on one of the few waterfront transient sites available because of the view and the peace. We camped here in a Motorhome.
