Extremely clean campground. Showers and park are kept up well. Lots of activities within the campground and surrounding areas. You can walk to the beach from the campground. They upgraded a section of the park this year and added sewer and cable hookups. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice campground for being near the ocean (York's Long Sands beach is across the street from the campground). The sites are narrow, which is to be expected from a campground so near the ocean. Restrooms were clean, good shower pressure, etc. There are a lot of seasonal sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We made reservations at this park while on the road, unfamiliar with it but needing a one night stay on our way to Bar Harbor. At first, the congestion was a bit intimidating; there were mostly trailers everywhere, we couldn't tell . This park has quite a long history, and the sites were configured back when rigs were much, much smaller. The coveted ocean-front sites provide amazing views but with very little elbow room. We asked for a pull through and had no trouble making the turn to pull straight in, with minimal leveling. The owners are delightful people, and the area has quite a bit to offer. We would definitely return (after Labor Day) and try to get an ocean-front site and spend some quality time here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Oceanside is a great definition. Though only the first row is actually Oceanside, the rest have the smells and sounds only. Those sites fill up fast, like March reservations, and many looked to be seasonal. If looking a beautiful seasonal site, waterfront at Libby's for the summer is a must. For the rest of the sites, it is field camping sloping dirt/grass sites and pretty tight. The location is great, right at the start of Long Sands Beach in York ME. Lots to do, walking, biking, sightseeing and shopping. Portsmouth NH is only 15 minutes away, though with Rt 1 bridge closed it is a bit longer on congested roads. We camped here in a Motorhome.
If you’re coming to Libby’s bring your binoculars and a fresh credit card and come before or after the summer season. If you are lucky enough to find one of the 45 oceanfront sites open, don’t expect any discounts here. During our three visits in early October we’ve experienced fresh fall sunshine, a storm that howled for three days and this year warm, sunny summer-like weather. The campground is a grassy parking lot with about 10-feet separation between sites on Lobster Cove, on the Atlantic. I find York Township lovely, long sand beach adjacent to Libby’s just perfect and at the other end of the beach there is the Nubble Light. About 15-min away are the Kittery Outlet Mall, Cap’n Simeon’s Seafood Restaurant and Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier. York Harbor is simply one of my favorite spots to visit. Great location on the ocean. Beach available from campground and on North side of camp. Not really equipt for large rigs and oceanfront sites are booked for the season every year. But great place to stay and use as a base for sightseeing. Will stay there again if I can get a space. They are very hard to come by. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
