We stayed through our Resorts of Distinction membership. This was a great park. They have made a lot of improvements. The entrance, office area, clubhouse area, and the indoor pool building all have beautiful and very well taken care of landscaping. The grounds are groomed and mowed. There are large, beautiful cabins here too. The new owner is planning more improvements. The indoor pool is large and clean. There is Wi-Fi in the clubhouse. We had a nice site, across from the lake, with 50 amp and full hook up and a paved road. Will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Not a bad park overall. We had a nice site near the lake. Some of the sites near the cabins seemed tight and the electric and water were a far reach but our area was good. Lots of grass, concrete bad, full hook-ups. We stayed here through ROD were here for 4 nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a poor excuse for a membership park. We came in under Happy Camper and left after one day. Low water pressure from 10:00 pm until 10:00 am and the power was so low (101volts). Water and electric are at the road and ganged together so every other site is on the wrong side for hooking up. Make sure you have got long hoses and extension cords. Road is a disaster and the locals run up and down at excessive speed making the numerous potholes worse. Go somewhere else. We will never stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park was just fabulous. We stayed here as ROD guests and were pleased that they put us on one of the nicer sites. The whole park is beautifully maintained. The waterslide was the best we've ever encountered at a resort. The indoor pool and hot tub and sauna were nice. We played mini-golf and enjoyed the course. The lodge was great and the internet was very fast. The staff went way above and beyond the norm to make our stay pleasant. We can't recommend this place enough to our friends and family! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
What a poor excuse for a membership park. We came in under ROD and left early. I got tired of no water pressure from 10:00 pm until 10:00 am and the power going at in the middle of the night. Site was so bad we had to angle in in order to reach the hookups. Water and electric are at the road and ganged together so every other site is on the wrong side for hooking up. Make sure you have got long hoses and extension cords. Road is a disaster and the locals run up and down at excessive speed making the numerous potholes worse. The personnel went through the park with the honey wagon dragging the hose on the ground and leaking sewage all down the street! Go somewhere else. We will never stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a ROD and Coast to Coast campground. We had reservations for full hook up, but had to take partial as the full hoop up section was full. Our site was shady and had no grass, just dirt and gravel. The bathrooms were not cleaned the entire weekend. There are many amenities and the campground has potential, but was run down and neglected. Game room consisted of out of order games, an air hockey table propped up on paddles, and a ping pong table with no ball. There is a 5 acre lake in the center of the campground with two paddle boats and small catfish. On the plus side, it was quiet and not too far from town. There are also very nice cabins available for rental year round. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is not big rig friendly. We were in a 45ft motorhome with a 20ft trailer. They told us, no problem. Problem is this park is not for big rigs of any kind. Too many trees, 90 degree turns, poor street markings. Upon arrival, greeter was rude. Upon departure, I was walking our motorhome out, moving unnecessary steel fence posts. We managed to scrape the side of the motorhome on a stop sign. The greeter/parker then showed up and started a lecture about how bad drivers we were, etc. Terribly rude. I would never stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice quiet park outside town. Plenty of trees, lots of grass. We stayed in a full-hookup site near the seasonal sites and enjoyed ourselves. Very friendly campers. We made some new friends, even though we were just passing through. Staff was very helpful and even talked me through backing in to the site. Nice facilities, they are working hard at updating campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is one of the best KOA's we've stayed. Trees, grass, definitely a campground feel vice an RV park. Excellent Wi-Fi, cable OK. Very clean and modern laundry, showers, and rest room. Friendly staff. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
One of the best KOA's I have stayed in. Owners live on site and work really hard to maintain and develop their facilities and amenities. Very friendly staff, wonderful treed setting, great facilities. Hard to beat this one! We camped here in a Motorhome.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Grounds were clean and well maintained. We didn't use the showers or restrooms as it was pouring down rain. There is little grass and/or gravel at most of the sites, or I would have given the campground a 10. A very nice place. I would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
There are too many trees so there is no satellite reception. The roads are dirt and sites with a little grass here and there. I had to wash the dirt off all my hoses and cables when I left. Sites now have sewer connections and wifi worked good. They say there were 5 TV stations in range but I could not get any. It is hard to find as there are no signs until you are 1/4 mile away. I would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is our first RV trip so I may have been expecting more. Campground staff was friendly and helpful. All woods, dirt, gravel sites (was expecting level concrete pads for my 34 ft 5th wheel) Also did not read the web page closely and thought they had sewer hook up, all they have is gray water dump. Had to pull the trailer to their dump station prior to leaving. Campground was quiet, had good WI-FI connecton. The bath house was clean, did not use their showers so can't comment on hot water. Overall, a good place to stop overnight when traveling. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Usual KOA cleanliness and friendly staff. Lots of trees, birds, squirrels. Good hiking trails. Great group areas away from main camping and lots of comfortable kamping kabins. Nice laundry room, bathrooms, and pool. Cycle rentals for the kids, volleyball, miniature golf, basketball, and rec rooms. Close enough to Mackinac Island ferries but much cheaper than other campgrounds that are closer. Solid wifi. Walmart nearby. Lots of families every weekend having plenty of fun. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Park was nice and clean. Very strict on rules for guest and quiet time. In my opinion this camp ground is not for young couples with kids. This camp ground would be good for older couples who are not going to make a lot of noise. It's camping and camping should be fun and the owners of this camp ground took the fun right out of the equation. It seemed like everything is a problem. I would only go back if it was my only option I had. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a great campground for tents and pop-ups. Well-kept, very wooded and terrific for the weekend warriors. Family friendly on beautiful lake with many lakeside sites. Nice beach, boat launch, big playground, well kept bath and showers. There are no sewer or water hook-ups. Level, dirt sites with large, extra nice firepits. Campground roads are paved, but narrow and so winding that it is very difficult to navigate. We saw several people accidentally drive into the picnic area and have to back their units out. There is one dump and water station, but the waiting line for it crosses the traffic line to the boat launch. We were lucky that the campground was not busy the weekend we were there, because the roads are so narrow, and there are many trees making it difficult to back in our trailer. The people are very friendly and helpful and they work hard keeping the park nice. Great for families and camping. I wouldn't recommend for big rigs. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The campground is mostly dirt sites. Many of the sites are waterfront. The bathrooms and showers have been recently remodeled and use tankless water heaters. They work spotty. When the campground is busy, the showers work well. When the campground is not so busy and the showers are not used much, the hot water is almost non-existent, so be prepared for that. The surrounding area is very nice and downtown Gaylord has a bigger city feel. Very pretty campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a big campground. Our site was listed as level, but was far from it. We had site 52, that whole section sloped, a lot. Bathrooms were old on our side and the water would shut off unless you kept tapping the button. The section by the office had a new restroom. Not a bad campground, but could use better listing of sites attributes. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We do not care for this campground! The lake and facilities were nice, but the staff was unfriendly. Also, they cater to the older campers that stay there long periods of time and less to the family campers. My husband and I are in our 40's and are quiet campers including our children and dog. Our dog is very obedient, and yet we received many complaints about him. Our dog has his Canine Good Citizen and is allowed in nursing homes and yet he was not welcome here... just think about it... I'm sorry to say, we will not return to this park anytime soon. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice state park. Large sites although dirt. Lots of trees and shade. Beautiful large beach raked daily. Great fishing on Otsego lake which is very large. Several bathhouses which were very clean although there were very few campers at the time we were there. Nice playgrounds for the kids down by the beach and a couple of others through the park. Wonderful wheel chair access ramp to the beach area. Camp store was closed so I cannot comment on it. We will camp there again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
