We LOVE this campground, been going here since I was a wee child. It's a national forest campground, so that means no electric or water at the sites. There are a few water spigots around the campground and also at the dump station there is potable water available. Fire rings and picnic tables at each site. We have a 40 ft motorhome and regularly try for site #17, our favorite. It's long enough for TWO 40 ft motorhomes to fit on it, us and our folks. Of course we pay a double fee for doing so, but we don't mind. Our friends try for site number #15 where they can leave their boat tied up to shore right near their camper. New concessionaire this year (by the name of Dave) seems to be really nice. He handled some noisy folks immediately and they were quiet the rest of the night. Well kept, clean, and rustic camping with well-spaced out sites. You can barely see the next site over as it's well closed in by shrubbery and tall trees. All sites are wooded, so satellite signals are questionable. Host lady has been there for many years, and always comes back! She is so sweet and helpful and keeps the bathrooms immaculate. Bathrooms have flush toilets and cold water, no showers. Bathhouse by the swimming area is very rustic and pretty structure, able to be rented for parties, complete with a fireplace and a little kitchen. No cell service in the campground as its down in a hollow, but if you drive up the road a mile or two, you can reach an Altell signal. Great fishing, our guys regularly catch walleye here, it's their favorite lake for night fishing. Large boat landing area with parking. Only rated a 7 because of course no electric, no water at sites, no showers, and none of the frilly froo froo that some folks come to expect in a park. But WE LOVE IT .. so it's a TEN in our book! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent little park in downtown Iron River, close to everything. Site is paved, level and had full hookups; host lives in park. Site #1 has 50 amp service. Electricity stayed at 115-120v, even under load. Chamber of Commerce office is at park entrance and the staff is friendly and eager to assist. Restrooms are clean. A paved walking/biking trail is adjacent to the park. They say Wi-Fi has been approved for next year due to the demand. Wi-Fi is available nearby in the meantime. I will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This was a lovely campground located right in town. It was neat, clean and the sites were well groomed and paved. The camp hosts were very friendly. We would like to see more 50amp sites as there was only one available but we plan to come back again and spend a full week. WiFi would be a nice upgrade. We would highly recommend this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
we would highly recommend the park. The grounds are well groomed, the restrooms and showers are sparkling clean and the sites are paved and level. We have camped here twice, once a couple years ago with friends and then again this July. The Iron River runs along one side and is picturesue and there is a nice hiking or biking trail running right through it as well as an ATV trail running by just above it on the hill. The camp host staff are always friendly. If you don't need full time sewer, partial hookups with cable are available for less money . We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a very nice city rv park. We planned to stay overnight, but it was such a pretty place with grass, flowers, shrubs & small trees, we decided to stay another night. It is within walking distance of the business district, but not much going on. There were several restaurants. The roads were paved. The sites were large, level and paved. The park is very well maintained. It is big rig friendly. We would stay there again if traveling thru the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
