We stayed for an overnight and were pleasantly surprised. The sites are mostly large and separated by trees. We could see Lake Superior out our back window. There are trails to and along the river to view several waterfalls. We would definitely come here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Black River is run under the Ottawa national forest. This means there is rustic camping with no hook ups. But this NFC has a sewer dump station and water fill ups in the front of the campground and flush toilets. The spots are separated with woods so you get some privacy. The campground is along L. Superior. There are about 4 lakeside spots. About a 1/2 mile west is Black River Harbor with a picnic area, a beach for swimming, a boat landing and long/short term boat parking. It is 15 miles away from Bessemer on City RD 513. Just turn at the stoplight in Bessemer.l We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Very nice park close to town.Very friendly caretaker. One draw back is it is right on the highway. Only 20 amp service. Nice little stop over. We camped here in a Motorhome.
