This park was a life saver over Labor Day weekend. All the state and city parks were jammed, so we came here based on a local's recommendation. It was a fine choice and a good value with electric and water for $20. Some pull-through sites, mostly level and gravel paved. You'll want one of those, as our back-in was a bit sandy and turned to mud after a thunderstorm. Restrooms are small, but clean with a good shower. It makes a good base camp for exploring the Keweenaw peninsula. No TV, cable or WI-Fi, but a strong 3-G signal on AT&T. The town of Lake Linden is cute. There was a farmer's market on Saturday. Be sure to check out Lindell's Chocolate Shoppe for a trip back in time and some good ice cream. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nightly rate is weekly. We almost never stay at a place for more than a night or two without sewer, but we needed to spend 9 nights here. The bathrooms were small - only 1 shower stall in each men/women and cleaned once a day - at 6:30am. However, they were always clean and only had to wait on someone one time because most of the campers are locals and go home to shower. Nice campground on Portage Lake with a beach, playground, disc golf course and 2.5-3 mile gravel walking trail. Fairly level pull through sites and larger, fairly level back in sites - each one has a picnic table. It gets noisy on weekends due to the locals but is very quiet on weekdays. Walking/Biking distance to anything in town. They are hoping to add wifi in the next couple of years. If they added Wi-Fi and sewer, this park would be rated a 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.
