Camp Club USA member campground. This campground is not very well kept. It's a little difficult to maneuver a large motor home through the campground. The location is not very convenient. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Owners are very accommodating and are attempting to update campground with newer systems. We stayed at campground in a 38ft Motor Home and the site was very generous with space, however, not much of a view. Camp office was basic with not
much to offer. The owners do pride themselves in keeping the rest rooms clean. The campground is off of highway US 131 and if you are at a site near the highway you will hear the traffic. The campground features some primitive sites near a river that runs through the grounds. The campground is open all year and features some nice RV cabins for the snowmobiling crowd. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice blue spruce trees between every wide spot. New owners are really making some nice changes, lawns nicely cut, roads well maintained, in fact had some rain today and they were right out there getting them smooth again. The are in the process of updating the lower restroom. For Labor Day weekend, had fireworks, free pancake breakfast, and BBQ in the evening. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate reflects a 50 amp, pull-through site. This park, previously known as "Whispering Pines Family Campground", has new owners and a new park name as of May, 2013. This is a nice, clean park easily accessed from US-131. Park is well landscaped with many younger trees and lots of open spaces for walking or play. The park includes a great adult pool, and separate kiddie play pool. Though there is currently no cable TV or WiFi provided, but we found several over the air HD channels available, and satellite access is also available from just about every site. There is very strong Verizon LTE high speed data and AT&T cellular service within the park. The central restroom is currently closed due to winter freeze damage caused by the previous owners leaving without winterizing. The new owners have already made many, very visible improvements in the park and no doubt will have the central restroom facilities back in service soon. In the meantime, restroom facilities near the pool are available. The owner and family reside within the park. About the only downside in this campground are the gravel roads throughout the park. This could create some dust during the busiest times, but was not an issue while we were there for two nights. We have tried several RV parks within a 30 mile radius of this park and feel that this park is the best in this area we have found. This park would make be an excellent choice for an overnight or extended stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate is daily rate for 50 amp electric and water back-in site with PA discount. Roads gravel, but were watered to keep the dust down, sites grass, some more level than others. A number of the sites are larger than typical in most private parks. Excellent satellite and Verizon reception. Has lots for kids and families to do, but also good for an overnight. Good value for the money with the PA discount, we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Price reflects Passport price. This campground is a gem. Large open level spaces with full hook ups that all worked well. Delightful scenery abound. Quiet and relaxing place. Owners were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again if in the area in a heartbeat. Even thought sites are not paved this placed deserved a 10! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Awesome Camp Ground! The Owners are very accommodating! The Campground was very clean and Pleasant! They have a Swimming pool and a Kids Pool with Spray equipment to play with. The Campground is only a few years old. It will only get better as the years go by. This Campground is a "MUST STAY AT". I have no complaints after staying here for over a week! If you are looking for a campground in the Mancelona area you need to try this one out! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
