Well maintained by state and good selection between electric, non-electric and primitive sites. A bit crowded on weekends, however more open on weekdays. Sites are a bit close together, however that is offset by how well maintained the park is. Restrooms and showers very nice. Campground is in town, so close to activities. Very Nice Park. Large sites and well marked. Quiet hours were just that, quiet. This was our first but, not last trip to this park. We had a great time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Absolutely terrific park! Large shaded sites (maybe a little tricky for huge rigs but our
30' trailer was no problem). Bathhouses were best we've seen - immaculate, large and free. $7 park fee on top of site rental (good for three days). Staff friendly and helpful. Near a river which we did not go see but they have the neatest pool around - it's a chlorinated sand pool that looks like a small lake (but cleaner!). Beautiful stone architecture built during the New Deal. Lots of trails to hike and bike, and nearby town is great. I would gladly retire to New Ulm! Would highly recommend this park for an overnight or an extended stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
