Was a nice city campground on the edge of town. Roads are paved and the sites are grassy and pretty level. The sites are pretty close together. You will get to know the family next to you fast. The bathrooms and showers need some up dating. As long as I could get a full hook up site I will go there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed at this campground two nights. Had a site with water and 30 amp electric. The sites have the utilities at the front of the site which is fine for motorhomes (pulled in facing lake) but would be more difficult for 5th wheels and travel trailers unless you have long power cord and hose so you can back in. One misconception I saw from an earlier review. There is a box at the dump site requesting $3.00 to dump. I asked the manager about it and she said that was for people not staying at the campground. Over-nighters can disregard. They recently repositioned the Wi-Fi from inside a building to outside and Wi-Fi works much better. I'm using it to access this site with a standard laptop. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The only good thing about this place is there is a good view of the lake. The sites are grass and they are not level. You have to pull straight in which is awkward because the electric is at the road and our hookup is at the back of trailer. Not easy to get a truck in site because of limited space. Very tight. No sewer hookup and ask you to pay $3.00 to dump, yeah, right! I don't think so after the nightly fee. It is honor system. Wash house nasty and old. There was a man and his dog camping outside it. They said, "oh don't worry about him he stays for 2 wks. every year. I'm not going in and that's that. Very strange situation. Don't trust him. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We always enjoy a stop here after a long day of driving. There are level gravel sites available but we prefer the grassy sites right by the lake even though they are somewhat uneven. Such an attractive and peaceful spot and so nice to be able to stroll through the nearby residential neighborhood or through the historic downtown area. We have always found the grounds to be well kept and the washrooms to be neat and clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a great park to spend a four day weekend at! The sites are well shaded for the most part and have at least a view of the lake. This was a relaxing get away for the wife and I and some friends so we didn't explore too much. There was quite a bit of road noise right from the traffic directly behind out site, but it was bearable. Overall I would recommend this park to others. The bike trail was awesome! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is our third visit here. We are the previous poster, and this CG has improved. Sewer sites have increased. Fish cleaning building w/disposal equipment. Storm shelter. T-Mobile data connections work here. VZN works also, but couldn't dial-up VZN's ISP. Circle track racing within about 2 miles and Bike/Hiking path nearby. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

CG operated by city of Sauk Center. First come, first served, no reservations. Nice location on lake, next to beautiful City Park. Downtown just four blocks away. Not all sites have sewer. Most of sewer sites taken by seasonal residents. Weekends, CG fills up by Friday mid afternoon. On weekdays, CG is less than 1/2 full. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
