Although this park is 10 miles from stores or eating out, I decided to stay here for 5 months while working in this area. At first glance, the park is clean and has a country appeal. Spaces are fairly large. Concrete pads are old and not level but I decided to give it a try. At first management was polite. Note *polite*, not friendly, and note *at first*. Each month they became less polite and hardly ever friendly. The managers do not own the park, just manage it. Manage is a incorrect word use for them. They became rude, snoops, and they discriminate. I moved out after only 3 months here due to the unpleasant atmosphere they created through out the park. The bath houses are non-working and I was told they will not be fixing anytime soon, as "no one" really needs them, you have your own. The washers worked about 1/2 of the time and took your money the other 1/2. They had the pool open for their benefit, not for the RV'ers who paid to be here. So if you are wanting to full time here, do yourself a favor and continue looking. The park could be made nicer, but if those people that manage it are still here, it won't make a difference what improvements are made. STAY CLEAR! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

RV spots were concrete pads. It was easy to get into the spots. Park was able to accommodate our motorcycle trailer in a unusable spot across from our spot. The managers were very nice. The RV park was in a quiet location. The Reservoir was a short drive away. The only complaint I had was the laundry room. The machines were in disrepair, the room was not well lit and it was very dirty. There were many bugs and a Snake in the laundry room during our stay. The laundry room is attached to the restaurant. The restaurant does not supply any quarters for the laundry room. They suggested I get change by using the pop machine outside their restaurant. This was after I had already ate lunch there while my laundry was washing and I only needed $2 more dollars worth of quarters to dry my clothes. In the end other diners heard me asking for only the $2 worth of quarters and they took pity on me. A nice lady even went and dug out quarters from her car. Needless to say I never ate in the restaurant again. We found much nicer parks in the area and moved on. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We booked this campground while evacuating from Hurricane Gustav; and was pleasantly surprised and overjoyed at our camping stay here. The staff was fantastic; friendly and easy to get along with. The campground has a restaurant with a large screen tv; the staff allowed us to track the storm via tv whenever we needed. I gave the campground a 9 rather than a 10 because the laundry room was dirty; however the machines worked well. Some campers are residents of the park, but you would never know it. We will definitely camp here again. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the extra 10 miles or so. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Much of the campground is used by long term campers and their associated stuff. Even so there are quite a number of sites available for overnight use. The newer part of the campground has wide long concrete sites. Convenient to the Natchez Trace Parkway. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Senior rate: $20 per night or $375 per month. We're staying until the end of March 2013. Fabulous place. Super-friendly staff. Super-clean, including laundry and washrooms. Well-maintained pretty grounds. Double-width level sites on concrete. Wi-Fi available (distance a problem for some sites). Allowed us to park our boat beside the RV at no extra charge. Boat launch a few feet away. Some sites on the waterfront. Will definitely stay here again. Three miles from Natchez Trace and trails. Would give it a 10 but half-hour each way to grocery shopping. Otherwise, perfect. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We've traveled all over the country, and this is one of my favorite camp grounds. Very clean and large spaces, level and can park my 36' travel trailer and truck. Very friendly staff and a safe place to stay. Good fishing and Tommy's grill right next door with great food. Stayed 3 weeks and enjoyed every minute. We shall return many times. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We are a family of 6, travelling across the US in a Class C motorhome. We had to post this review as our experience was so discordant to the reports given below. On the upside, most of the reports are correct: this campground has well-spaced concrete pads, reasonably level, with plenty of trees providing shade. Our site was by the lakeside, and close to a clean pool and a playground the kids thoroughly enjoyed. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. There were however 3 significant strikes against us ever staying here again. Firstly, the toilet/shower block near our site (N66) was _dire_, some of the worst we have seen in the 50+ RV camps we have stayed at thus far. The shower cubicles were cramped (one was half-usual width!), and had no privacy screens/doors (other than the shower curtain itself). There was no dry level shelf space to put clothes/towels/toiletries etc. So far, not good, but bearable. However, whilst I was supervising my young boys showering, another guest used a urinal that overflowed when flushed, flooding most of the floor of the facility, and meaning my boys and I had to walk through this to get from the shower to the exit. This overflow then ran out through where the walls meet the concrete slab, and over the pathway outside. Stains I subsequently noticed on the walls suggest that this is not an isolated incident. Secondly, there was an intermittent smell of sewerage at our site. We have have experienced, and can tolerate, "farm" smells, but this was different. Thirdly, be aware that the number of flying bugs can be horrendous. With the onset of darkness, our motorhome became infested with flying critters, despite all the screens being closed! Overall, if you are using your own RV's shower and toilet facilities (and you get a non-smelly site away from the bugs), you will probably enjoy this campground, as others have. Just beware of the restrooms! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This stop was an overnight from a trip up the Natchez Trace. Most of the lakeside lots were taken by full timers. There were no trees in the area we stayed in, but sites were paved, level, relatively quiet and safe. Staff was adequate. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This large, very well-kept municipal park is located in a busy area, but is surprisingly quiet. On the shore of the Ross Barnett Reservoir, this campground provides a good base for recreation on the lake, and exploring Jackson and the Natchez Trace. A large majority of the sites are occupied by permanent campers, and transient visitors are placed in a section near the park’s entrance. A strong Wi-Fi signal was available at my site which was located within 250-feet of the office. There is good over-the-air digital TV reception, with strong signals from all the major networks and several other stations. A grocery store (Kroger) is within walking distance of the campground. The amount paid reflects the rate for seniors. We camped here in a Motorhome.
