Nice state park campground. Sites are spacious. Not your place if you want to be plugged into the world. No problems sending text messages from the campsite; cell coverage was very spotty in the campground. There is no Wi-Fi. There are several hiking trails. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Clean little campground in the hills. Electric hookups in excellent condition. Each of the two sections has a community water spigot, but there are none for individual sites. Has a peaceful forest setting, a playground and a beautiful little stream runs beside both sections. Campground fills up quickly on weekends, but was almost empty on the Sunday night we stayed here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Hawn SP CG is a small, quiet CG that runs along-side Pickle Creek. If your site is along the creek, you can hear the water. The CG is divided into 2 loops. The 2nd loop has the showerhouse with family, (unisex), showers that are great if you have children. All facilities were clean. There is laundry and payphone available. The CG is in a ravine so there is no cellular phone service. The playground is in the 2nd loop too. There are 45, (26 with electric), sites with a level concrete pad. There are 5 walk-in sites. 37 sites are reservable through the website above. The sites have a fire ring and lantern hanger. Most sites are shaded. There is an amphitheater with ranger led programs. There is lots of hiking. Most of the trails are moderate to strenuous because of rocks, but are beautiful. Pickle Creek is cool, clear, and has several shut-ins that are fun for wading. The rock formations are great with a wide variety of plant life. We recommend this CG. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
