We really enjoyed our stay here...we planned to visit Yellowstone for the next two days and this was a perfect spot to do it from. The campground was neat and clean, staff helpful, used the Passport America rate. No cell or wi-fi but that was okay since we were there for Yellowstone anyway. Enjoyed the bar/restaurant on Friday night. Neat place, would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Came here because it's a PA park, and the one in Ennis was so awful. The reviews here told us what to expect, and the remote mountain setting really is gorgeous. Yes, you won't find shade for the warm days, it's cold at night and usually windy too. Nothing much to do but fish or enjoy the views and peacefulness. Would have liked watching dvds or using the game room but the office was closed at 6pm, even though we reserved. No one around, so paid in the morning. Bathrooms exceptionally nice. NO CELL PHONE nor TV reception, but wifi worked well. Long pull-thrus but on slope. An okay stop between Ennis and Island Park, especially with the discount. Park still for sale, restaurant not open mid-week. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is in the beautiful Madison River valley with mountain views all around. It is north of West Yellowstone and 30 miles south of Cameron on US 287. Nice big office/lounge area with extensive free DVD library and bumper pool and shuffleboard games. Facilities were very clean. An excellent base camp for fly fishermen, they also have four large cabins. The restaurant and pub are open Thurs-Mon evenings. We ate there and enjoyed the food and the local patrons. We stayed 3 days. Passport America rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a Passport America Park. Address is 1101 N Hwy 287 Cameron MT. With that address we assumed it was north of Cameron, WRONG! It's a long ways south of Cameron! We asked for our deposit back as we didn't want to stay out in the middle of nowhere. They refused thus the overall rating of 1. This park is for sale and appears to be lacking upkeep. The bar and restaurant appeared to be closed! We camped here in a Motorhome.
