One of our favorite state park campgrounds to stay at. There have been numerous upgrades to the park in the last year. Some being added electrical sites, added handicap accessible sites, two camp host sites and new potable water fill stations. Their vault bathrooms are as neat and clean as possible, although all the hard work the staff does goes out the window as soon as a disrespectful camper walks in. The staff has always done their best to let people camp in peace, but rules do have to be followed including keeping ones pets in control. Most of the time people are pretty good when the occasional mishap (pet off a leash or barking) with a pet happens as the majority of us who camp there love dogs. We love being there over the 4th as the staff does a little parade with water guns, the kids love to try to get them back with ice cold water from the cooler. The cell signal this year seems a lot worse than last year. I used to be able to check the weather report (important thing when you are boating) before we would go out but not this time. There was no signal strong enough to load my Weather Underground app, and the radio stations out of Sheridan were quite a bit fuzzier than last year. The only major improvements I would love to see would be another dump station on Pee Wee, updated launch dock that does not have splinters, day use boat slips so the boat launches are not impeded with people going to the marina and a shower facility. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I am surprised no one has reviewed this park before. There are several campgrounds around this lake, including one with double-wide, newly paved electric sites and roadways. New sites are very long, and you can easily park a 35 foot motorhome with a car in front, plus a boat and trailer alongside! Water is available from convenient faucets alongside the road. One negative is the dirt road getting in and the lack of cell phone service. I am also not sure about the availability of showers. There were only vault toilets in the new Camper's Point campground where I stayed. We camped here in a Motorhome.
