Though spartan in amenities, this campground was perfect for us. We love to experience local areas on our travels and seldom use anything but the electric hookup on one-night stays. We could not get any local TV stations, if that is a concern for you, but we could dodge the trees to use our dish. Our Verizon hotspot had good reception. We would definitely stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a city owned park and you pay on the honor system. There are lots of trees and all the sites have grass. It is well maintained. The park is within walking distance to town. The restrooms could be cleaner but one has to remember there is a ball-field just across the road and the restooms get a lot of use. We would definitely stay again. There are 15 electrical sites and several community water spigots. There is also a dump site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We saw a highway sign on US-81 in south Nebraska. We pulled into the town and followed the signs to the campground. The place was empty and instructions at the bath house said to pick a spot and put $5 in the envelope. At first we parked near the baseball field and then thought we didn't want to get hit by a foul ball so we moved to the other side. Had to be careful to get a site with water but finally settled in. Surprised to find 30 amp and wide level sites. No others arrived and there was no ball game so it was "real" quiet. So quiet at night that I actually worried about being alone. Decent restaurant next to the gas station in town (about a mile away) with nightly specials and an excellent breakfast. This was a real find for us and we plan on stopping whenever we travel through this area. I would recommend this as an overnight stop to anyone, especially those who use Wal Mart. The $5 was a lot less that I have ever spent on a Wally World stop. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is part of a larger city park complex. It is next to a baseball field that could get busy during the day. But as a stop-over, while traveling, it was excellent. $5 for RV's, $3 for tents. It is on the honor system. Not all sites have water. It is first-come, first served. Restrooms and showers were clean. Has a dump station only. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
