Beautiful park. Stayed 3 nights. Big sites with water and electric. really nice fire pits with grates for cooking. We stayed in site 33 and it was perfect. There are only 2 toilets in the mans washroom for the entire CG so I set up our shelter and porta potty. Showers are pay but you get a lot of time with a quarter and they are very large. One was out of order when we were there but it didn't cause any delay. Beach area is perfect and the lake is stunning. Activities for the kids. We were able to partake in an interactive boat trip that was an hour long for free around the lake. The only complaint I had was noise on our last night. Moron family moved in next door with a popup and appeared to be newbie campers. I could tell they were going to be noisy and they were. Up until 2:30Am rattling bottles and slamming the trailer door. Didn't appear to be anyone around to tell them to go to sleep. Nearest store and gas is in Errol about 10 miles so it does feel remote. No cell service. Great hiking in the area. Will be a yearly destination for sure. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
We have stayed at Umbagog Lake State Park many times over the last 12 years. It is a very nice campground. On site amenities are limited, but the natural beauty and wonderful beach more than make up for it. Bathrooms & showers were kept reasonably clean (we had lots of rain during our stay). The surrounding area is very rural, not much to do close by. We enjoyed taking trips out on the lake (highly suggest bringing a boat, or renting a canoe) and packing the truck up for an afternoon of "moose crawling" down the dirt roads. This time we stayed at the main campground. In years past I have stayed at one of the remote sites, a very special experience. I highly suggest it!! Bring your own boat if you do... We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The park is small and seems to set up primarily for use by boaters. There are stunning views of the lake from some of the campsites. The swimming was good. The bathrooms, the shower in particular, are very dirty and needs maintenance and renovation. The road into the campground needs work - serious potholes. We camped here in a Motorhome.
