It's been expanded to 35 hookup spots, but the new ones did not have cable TV, gravel or patios yet. Not a bad place to stop with a Commissary & Exchange on base. Still a lot of people homesteading from the looks of things. Good laundry rooms, good showers. We spent two nights as we were waiting for tires to arrive at a shop in Alamogordo. I would have no problems coming back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here as part of our spring break getaway from Denver. It is a great Famcamp real a very friendly and helpful host. The covered area for the picnic tables was a big plus in the afternoon sun. Not much bother from the aircraft noise or the noise from the main road. I was a little worried getting onto the base because the commercial gate was close so I had to use the main gate which had very narrow access. But my trailer fit with about 1 foot on each side. The base is a great focal point for traveling around the area. I would stay there again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The on-site staff couple here were extremely helpful and friendly. All sites were level pads and the restrooms and showers were both very clean and extremely secure - you had to have an issued key to gain access. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an excellent location for active duty or retired military members to visit White Sands National Monument and Alamogordo which has an excellent Space Museum. The sites are typically close together as in most FamCamps. We camped here in a Motorhome.
