A great campground. Several things to consider. The very windy, narrow roads can be tough to navigate to get to the campground. Remember: there are no pull-through sites with hookups, and there are no showers! Also, the summer months are very overcrowded and can be pretty noisy. The weekends are busy. The weekdays are best from September to early December, and February to early May. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Well laid-out park with paved roads and pull throughs. Overlooks Lake Roberts in the Gila
National Forest and is operated by the NFS. Large sites on a high cliff overlooking the Lake. Great views, but it might be a concern for families with small children. A second campground on the lake, Upper End, is just a mile away without the hilltop views, but with a boat ramp and dump station. Good location for visiting Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, fishing, and wilderness hiking. No hookups or showers, but has flush toilets and water points. We were there in mid-May and there were only two or three other campers. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This campground is peaceful and quiet, just what you need to get away from the city. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and what is available and are starting a book with menus from restaurants that are in the area. There are DVDs and books that the campers can enjoy. The showers are large and very clean. Also, there is a laundry at this campground and you can refill propane tanks. This campground is close to the National Forest where you can ride ATVs. There is an office for the National Forest nearby where you can get a lot of information. We definitely would recommend this campground and definitely would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I enjoy staying at this Park. The people there are pleasant and if you need help with anything they are there for you. The rates are very reasonable. If i was to gripe about something it would be road noise there are some days when you can hear the traffic on the adjacent road. The nights however are quiet and cool and the night sky is awesome.
