Do not venture into this CG if you have a motorhome larger than 30 feet. The "rangers" do not have a clue as to their site sizes. They were at least helpful in that they let us camp at the beach parking lot. Trying to find a place to dispose of dogie waste and trash is kind of like a game of hide and seek. New York is really missing the boat on this place. Should lease it out to a private party, have some big rig sites added and charge a little more. The CG is gorgeous. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Not at all big rig friendly. Since it was after Labor Day they let us camp at the beach parking lot. Staff has no idea as to site size but they are nice enough. No trash cans, doggy waste has to be hauled half way across the park to recycle center. New York is really missing the boat here, add some electric and water, extend and level 15 sites and this would be a great place to camp for big rigs. Foregoing these improvements this campground is best for tenters and small trailers and I mean small. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had no problem with our 34' motorhome, and I saw much larger rigs here too! We've all witnessed the "complaint drivers" ??? This park was very nice with the exception of the 10 straight days of rain! Ranger told us the weather here is totally unpredictable due to it's location with the Great Lakes. We didn't care: it was summer and we took the jet skis out anyway. Also did plenty of fishing and hiking! The park has public bathrooms with showers only. Has no hook-ups and no conveniences of any sort. I did not see a dumping station but presumably there was one somewhere in the park. If you enjoy roughing it whether it be a tent or the luxury motorhome, you will enjoy the pristine environment. No shortage of mosquitos or black flies either! It's a typical NYS park! We camped here in a Motorhome.
