Pleasantly surprised ! I am here now first week of Aug and I would say the electric sites are about 60% filled. I am on the best pull-through #91...Super large site...Walking distance to bathroom and showers. Nice beach area, great kayaking..nearby eateries and of course the multiple vineyards and farm stands. For the non electric sites one would need to bring portable fire container. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We liked this park a lot, although it's different than most we stay in. The sites are spaced well apart but there are no bushes or trees to screen the sites from each other, and the park is pretty much all sand with a bit of grass here and there. This is to be expected though because this is Long Island which is all sand. The park was quite most of the weekend, but our neighbors said it can get pretty noisy during the summer months. The bathrooms are old but well maintained, and the dump station is well laid out. There's just no way to hook up a water hose for wash down. Someone said it was due to budget cuts? We'd definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The park was clean. The playgrounds were in great shape. We went off season so it was empty. There is access to the bay, however it is far from the campsites and once at the bay there are no restrooms. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
