This is a great campground for which to explore the Finger Lakes area. We were lucky enough to get a site with electricity and we filled up our water tank at a nearby spout before setting up. Although there is not any kind of security, the park rangers cruised through the campground on a regular basis during the day and evening hours. The signage around the campground and park is not very helpful. We found the campground first, but couldn't find the office until driving back and doing some searching. That was weird for any state campground. They need better signs. The walk to the 400 foot falls is great, you're close to the nice little town of Trumansburg and there are more wineries in the area than you would ever need to go to, unless you love wine like my wife. This campground may be better off for people like tenter's that don't require electricity, but we would definitely stay here again in the future if we could get the electrical hook up. The campground's best feature is it's location. From the campground you can walk down the hill and hike back to the falls which are beautiful. You are also a quick drive from the beach/playground/park on Cayuga Lake. We also went to see the falls at Buttermilk State Park and Robert Treman State Park which are not very far away. However, the sites were rather tight for our 29' trailer. The park ranger was super nice and had me jump into his golf cart to see if we could find a larger one open, but we stayed with our original site as most sites were taken. We had electric but like most state parks, we had to fill our water tank since there are no water hookups. The campground is on a hill with tiers of sites connected by short steep roads which did not make for very good bike riding for the kids. My son crashed his bike trying to negotiate a turn on a steep hill, but luckily was OK. Convenient campground but we would probably look for something different next time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice, basic state park. Restrooms decent and regularly cleaned. Sites not designed for biggest units, but you can fit. Hiking trails among most beautiful in country. Waterfalls are everywhere in this region. Campground very quiet at night. Walk to trails, Cayuga Lake from your site. Great place for families. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
