Stayed there for a week's vacation. Location is great. Right on Lake Fontana, close to Tsali bike trails and the NOC. Park has mostly seasonals but leaves some open spots. Very quiet and peaceful. Convenient place to rent a boat or take out your own. Only problem was water pressure was very low during parts of the day. Will stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Joe and Caroline, park owners were great. Very hospitable even during the Thanksgiving Holiday. They were having their time with kids visiting, and the campground was quiet. Trout pond was closed and to be honest, it was a bit too cold to fish. Lows were in the low 20's. Nice, quiet, clean, no frills. Great little stream and a common area under a pavilion with coffee makers, microwave, chairs, fireplace, fridge, etc. It is out not really close to any grocery store, etc but that is what we were looking for. Drive up 28N to Fontana Dam is just beautiful. Alot of site seeing. Fontana about 15 miles, Bryson City about 20 miles and Asheville 65 miles. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Stayed in a popup. A nice, quite little "no frills" campground. Easy access via a level road off of NC 28. All sites were level; those next to the stream had nice shade. Clean bathrooms, and they provided individual bath mat. Only downside was the sulphur smell of the water in the bathrooms (the water at the site had no smell, and no taste). We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
A small and lovely campground in a remote spot near the Tsali Recreation area. Level sites right next to a gurgling stream. Great background noise to sleep by on a night when you can leave the windows open. Very pleasant and helpful proprieter. Located 1 1/2 miles off NC 28 between Bryson City and Fontana Dam. We camped here in a camper.
