We stayed here to visit our son who is stationed at Cherry Point. If it had not been for that we would have left for a campground outside the base. The place was infested with ants that invaded your RV. It was necessary to spray a barrier around your home to keep them out. There was a huge nest of copperhead snakes in the hedge behind our site. Each night they were out looking for snakes. Ten were captured while we were there. They seemed more interested in preserving the snakes than the safety of the people staying there. Small kids played near the hedge daily. Many snakes escaped back into the hedge before the game warden arrived to catch them. The park hosts did not want us to kill them. We stayed 4 nights. The people staying there were very friendly as were the camp hosts. In a commercial campground the problems listed above would have been taken care of immediately. That is my major complaint. The campground is located in walking distance to the commissary and other base features. It was priced right too. We camped here in a Motorhome.
