Perfect location to visit all the small islands. The owners are on site and very helpful and friendly. On the day we left they were updating the power system! We will be back in the late fall for another visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our second stay at this park. It is a good place to stay before taking the ferry to Ocracoke or if you have a boat. Other than that, there is no reason to stay here. We were warned about the smelly water when we checked in. Bring bottled water to drink and don't fill your fresh water tank. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived on a Wednesday after it had rained and found the visitor camping area to be very soggy with water standing in large pools 1 - 2" deep. Many sites have older long term RV trailers on them. During the evening and the early morning, thunderstorms passed through the area and now the pools nearly surround our camper. The manager placed another RV perpendicular to ours and about 5' away behind ours because he was concerned about the RVs sinking into to wet soil. We were the only two visiting RVs in the park. The most challenging problem was the poor electrical service - even though the connection was 30 amps the voltage was all over the place - dropping below 110V with only the AC running. During cooler and dryer seasons this would be less of a problem, but we had to turn off one appliance to run another. The on-site boat ramp to the fishing waters and a plywood cleaning table also served local sport fishermen who visited. The owners were friendly; picnic tables were few, limited full hookups, duck and goose droppings added to the flavor of this remote park. Wi-Fi was $5/day. The pool was dry. We won't be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
