Great county park with sites right on the lake. The limited number of full hook up sites are paved and right on the lake. No problem getting a big rig in there (our trailer is 40'). The park keeps the trees trimmed up high and there was plenty of room to maneuver to get into the site. Some of the sites are heavily wooded and the shade is great on hot summer days. There are a few seasonal sites here but they are well kept: in fact some are nicely landscaped! There are two beaches, one for campers and the other for day use on the other side of the lake. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We love to come to Cane Creek. The roads are paved and the lake front sites are paved (even though some are not very level). Our favorite thing about this park is that it is lake front and you can have full sewer hookups. That is quite amazing as you typically have to be in a tent to get close to lake front. There are several very nice playgrounds in the park. The beach has a life guard on the weekend. Each site has it's own fire ring so you get to enjoy a fire, the fire fly's and gaze out at the lake. It certainly doesn't get any better than that. Also, there are several very nice, well maintained trails in the park. It is definitely worth a stay in this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park on lake. Prior reviews indicated potential problem with big rigs but we had no issues with the access or the roads in a 41' toy hauler. Access to the park via GPS address does not work. Follow signs carefully to the park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Cane Creek is a county park on a small lake in Union County NC, very near the SC border. It is located off of highway NC 200 south of Monroe NC. It is a small family oriented park with a small swimming beach that is only open Saturdays and Sundays during summer. The spaces are fairly tight, so not sure a big rig would fit. Waterfront spaces (about 10-12) are paved and have full hook ups. Others are gravel with water and electricity only. There are lots of trees and a small arcade that closes at about 9PM. There are several fishing and boat docks within walking distance. There is a large lakefront area with vollyball nets, basketball hoop and plenty of room to fish from the shore. A boat ramp is also avilable. The day use area across the lake is also available for campers to use with peddle boats and other activities. There are plenty of walking trails all around the lake. There are also primitive camping areas, cabins, and an equestrian camping and riding area. All in all a neat little place not far from Charlotte and not far from the JAARS Center, Alphabet Museum and the Mexico Museum. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Cane Creek Park is a Union county park. Well maintained, but bathrooms are only cleaned once per day. Sites range from private to very close together and are not very level. Overall it is a nice experience for a camping trip close to the Charlotte area. They have a beach with lifeguards, security patrols that are visable, mini golf and hiking trails. They also control the amount of visitors on each site to eliminate overcrowding. We would return. Reservations are accepted up to 1 week in advance, or 1st come 1st serve. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
