Camped in site 69 which is one of the few wooded sites: you have 4 crab apple trees from which to tent. The singage is hard to find, and you are behind 2 other site, but the privacy is nice. Not really room for RV or trailer, but for tenting and hammock camping, this is a nice spot. A bit of a walk to the comfort station (flush), but a few pots nearby. We camped here in a Tent.
A great location to take a family or have a quiet private night. There is great staff, and great sites. We would camp here anytime of year as it is truly fabulous. We camped here in a Tent.
Stayed on site #32. Can't believe how much space there is on each site. The extra space between sites is appreciated considering the lack of tree cover. The Alcohol Ban is in effect, but not an issue. The campground is quiet, deathly quiet at night. If you are looking for a nice quiet park, this is the place. Dogs & kids have lots of green space to play at the front of the park. The park is undergoing a forest regeneration project, so they cut down many of the dead spruce trees and is replacing them with a traditional Acadian Forest mix. However, the cleared areas provides great views of coastline. The park is also planning some major upgrades in the next few years. Facilities are top notch, the showers were HOT and clean. The online reservation is painless and check-in takes 2 minutes. This park will be a top destination in a few years once all the projects are completed. We camped here in a Tent.
Park Management who are on site during the week are very friendly. Staff on the weekend are a little younger so in the morning, a little grumpy - however overall staff experience was above average. We had site #34 and for an open site, was very wide, other campers were not on top of us. During May-July 2, no alcohol is permitted and is enforced by armed conservation officers. This provided us with a very quiet stay. Facilities were clean and enjoyed the walking trail around the island. Short drive to Chester. One of our favorite spots. Online reservation system is in place. We camped here in a Tent.
Only complaint is the staff . For Provincial Park they were very unfriendly and spent more time sitting in their own trailer then at the sites . Did keep garbage locked up however ran out of available firewood on a Friday night . Dis not seem concerned. Site has a campground host who is available and were friendly. Great local spots for drives and excursions. Lots of local beauty sites. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Beautiful spot . Large grassy sites as well as smaller shaded tenting areas. Very quiet, clean and well maintained . Host camper on site . Wood available at $3.50 Cdn per bundle. Water taps available to top off tanks or for general use ( not site specific.) Dump station available. Beautiful views and nice atmospheres. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
