The campground was nice. We arrived late at night and had a site that had power/water (shared hookup) on one side of the motorhome and sewer on the other side. The site was not level. While there were 50A sites available for the duration of our stay, the office staff didn't want to move us since we only needed 30A. The next morning they moved us to a better site which was nice. With the exception of the office staff the campground was very nice and we enjoyed the balance of our short stay. We would stay here again (but would certainly want to know about the partially shared hookups in advance). We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is nice and neat with several big grassy open areas. Campsites are a little tight, but long enough to park the car behind the motorhome. Our site is not level. Utilities work well: adequate water pressure. Water and electric hookups are on the wrong side, but doable. Sewer hookup is at the back of the site. Wi-Fi works fairly well, and cable TV is available for a small charge. We have not seen the bathroom facilities, so can't comment on that. There is a train track somewhere nearby, and trains come through a few times a day. Overall, we like the park a lot, and will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I agree with the review of 7/2010. The trees are a little bigger and lower. No satellite reception, but Wi-Fi was good and fairly fast. They have 5 sites with 50 amp, but they are hard to get into with any rig requiring 50 amps. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The campground is about 5 miles off the main highway from Truro to Halifax. The road in was under construction and is in an industrial area. The campground has a good entrance with lots of room to maneuver. We asked for a 50 amp pull through site but could not fit into it or any of the other 50 amp pull through sites. The sites are very narrow with 3 mature trees on each side. We could not swing in off the narrow road. Also the limbs on the mature trees were well below the top of the motorhome. We switched to a 30 amp pull through. Even most of those would not fit our motorhome. The site was not very level but it was not the worst we have seen. This campground is not suitable for larger motorhomes. Ours is 45' long and 13 feet 6 inches high. For smaller motorhomes, this is a very nice campground. I'm giving it a rating of 7, because for most RV's this is what they would experience. If you have a large motorhome, it's more like a 4. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Campground has nice long sites divided by well trimmed pines. Has easy access for big rigs (we camped here in a 45' towing). Great location for a big rig if you plan to raft the Shubenacadie. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camp here every year to start the season. Its a great campground. Clean, flat ground on the sites for leveling. The campground is hugh. There are sites in the woods for tenters and there is a very large well mowed field for group activity as well as tenters. All the other main sites for trailers are all pull throughs although on the inner left hand side of the camp there are sites next to the woods as well for trailers which have power. It is by far in my opinion the best overall campground in Nova Scotia. Most other private campgrounds in Nova Scotia suck, but this one is a keeper. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice location to home base to tour NS. Fairly quiet at night. Caretaker (owner?) working early morning to late evening getting ready for camping season. Would stay again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Quiet. Half of sites have trees overhead, the other half are in the open for the sun worshipers. If you want to see the tidal bores, this is the place. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the first campground in 2 years of full timing that we could not get into the space assigned to us. The roads are narrow, the cars parked in the sites do not allow you to swing wide enough to clear the trees. The trees are not trimmed in the narrow sites so they scrape on the side of your coach. We had to leave and find another campground. NOT BIG RIG FRIENDLY. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Clean older bathrooms, fast free Wi-Fi at site. A little road noise. Showers are 25 cents for five minutes and were hot and powerful. There's also a sauna but the door was locked. We camped here in a Motorhome.
WIFI is available, except when you really want to use it, seems to be down alot. Water pressure is not the greatest at times, had to use trailer pump a few times in order to have a shower. If you want to take advantage of the 7th. night free, make sure you ask when you check in. We paid for 4 nights then decided to stay for 4 more and were told the free night only applies when you pay for the week in full when you first register. When we called to book, we indicated 4 nights for sure, possibly longer. Staff should indicate in this phone conversation that the 7th night is only free if you book and pay for the entire week at that time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This cg is not the easiest to find and involves a drive through a congested light industrial neighborhood. However, once you get there, you find an attractive and restful facility. We found wide, level, shaded sites; extremely clean washrooms; an attractive pool; reasonably dependable wi-fi and an excellent cable TV system. There's an abundance of seasonal or permanent guests, obviously involving a lot of kids; yet, the cg was amazingly quiet. The campground store is very sparsely furnished. We stayed only overnight but would easily recommend it for that purpose. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice clean campground for a stop over or to visit sites in the area. Some Side by side hookups, 50 amp service and cable tv. Some sites not satellite friendly because of trees. Very friendly on check in. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
